While mostly full of annoying cinematography, wooden dialogue, inexplicable reactions, and subpar acting performances from some normally consumate pros, the ending salvages the movie. Definitely one of those endings that leaves one wonder. I would like to see the original, "Garde a vue," or read the novel "Brainwash" for a little more insight into the story.
I love movies that are basically just about life and the journey we all take along it's road; simple, and yet thought-provoking. I have a feeling this movie, and certainly it's beautiful score, will linger with me.
Like "Cloak & Dagger" for grown-ups -and that's not a good thing. Jeff Bridges stinks up the screen as he so often does. It had a touching moment in the middle, but that was all too fleeting. How a man who could produce "Brazil" can come up with so much garbage I don't know...
The biographical background was interesting and Tommy Lee Jones was good. Perhaps too good, as it was a bit painful to watch his portrayal of what appeared to be a very evil man. Robert Wuhl was just plain annoying.
