Reasonable fourth installment. Much better than the third! (Not tough to do, though!) Willis gives it his all and is THE reason to see this installment. The rest is straight-forward action, but is done with energy and flair. Plus, there are enough let-McClane-be-McClane moments to carry you through!
I absolutely HATED this installment! I actually sat stunned in the theater as the End Credits rolled. How could have it all gone so wrong? No Joel Silver as producer, none of the first two installment's screenwriters, and John McTiernan past his prime. B-a-d !
One of the greatest crime stories! William Friedkin excels with a film that allows for deeply flawed heroes. Great immersion in the '80's scene and an incredible car chase that is among film history's best!
My second favorite action film of all time! (Wanna guess the first?) Great sequel that amazingly is almost as good as the original! It helps that producer Joel Silver, one of the screenwriters and composer Michael Kamen are back along with many of the original's cast. Spectacular action, and great plot line, thanks to the adaptation of a Walter Wager novel.
This is the movie I'm most looking forward to this summer. Gasp! Not "Indiana Jones" or "Dark Knight" you ask? Yes! I am hoping that Lucas gets it right in animated form!
Primarily an effects film. Michael Bay delivers a Michael Bay movie with lots of frantic humor, wisecracking characters, and big action sequences. There is a lot that's fun here, but the script is overly busy, has too many characters, and needed trimming. Okay enough overall.
