The Plot
Sam Dawson has the mental capacity of a 7-year-old. He works at a Starbucks and is obsessed with the Beatles. He has a daughter with a homeless woman; she abandons them as soon as they leave the hospital. He names his daughter Lucy Diamond (after the Beatles song), and raises her. But as she reaches age 7 herself, Sam's limitations start to become a problem at school; she's intentionally holding back to avoid looking smarter than him. The authorities take her away, and Sam shames high-priced lawyer Rita Harrison into taking his case pro bono. In the process, he teaches her a great deal about love, and whether it's really all you need.
My Thoughts
WOW, this movie was amazing! I watched it on Film4 and I was just absolutely blow away by the whole movie. What really touch me emotionally was Sean Penn who played Sam, now before I start I've to say I haven't really took much notice of Sean Penn movies, I don?t think I've seen any of his work... ever! but my god, he was just incredible!!! He really did look like a mentally challenged person, He gave realism which not many actors can do that, you have to be someone very talented to play that role and Sean was the man to do that. Now I'm curious what other movies he has done.
Also the fact he didn't win that Oscar, WHAT THE HELL?? no Oscar for Mr Penn, now that really did annoy me.

The Summary

Hmm, well I'd love to see Johnny Depp to play the Riddler but It doesn't sound so promising as Johnny tie up with the new Pirates of the Caribbean.

Yes, maybe David Tennant from Doctor Who, I'd love that to happen. He may not be the Hollywood hottie Johnny Depp, but I've seen some of his work and he is amazing.
