Forgetting Sarah Marshall - R Since this one was touched by Judd Apatow, I was immediately interested and rightfully so. This without-a-doubt comedy is funny from beginning to end and offers humorous aspects for all viewers yet I in no manner suggest this to just anyone (if you know what I'm saying). If you like this genre then you can't miss this one. July 11, 2008

Confessions of a Superhero - R I was really taken with the idea of this documentary and was glad to see it meet my expectations. It's funny, heart warming, and a little confusing sometimes but it's all in order to deliver the inspiring story of these ex-mafia, divorced and engaged, dropouts complain and rejoice about the very same job. I wouldn't watching this one again or see more of Joe McQueen's work. July 10, 2008

WALL-E - G This clean, laugh-filled ride is by far the best movie I've seen all year so far. It kept my laughing all throughout the entire movie and I can't remember the last time that happened. The visuals in this movie are the best I've seen to date in cinema or video games, the emotion shown by that which isn't supposed to is more than I can say for most acting jobs to date and there is no wasted dialogue. This is by far a magnificent movie that cannot be missed or under appreciated. Yet there is too much that I can write about this film without getting to my conclusion of this spectacularly extravagant, reassuring masterpiece that indeed, Disney-Pixar has done it again. See this movie now, it's worth the money. July 7, 2008

Get Smart - PG-13 You know you've got a good movie when your bad jokes don't take away from the movie and when you make the audience laugh even when they know what's coming. Despite it's political undertones, this movie is clean, funny, and well worth seeing, especially if you like Steve Carell. July 7, 2008

The Strangers - R I'm glad to finally see several horror elements that I've longed to see in a movie well done. Yet overall the lack of plot and average acting hinder this movie. Sure the scary parts are some of the scariest I've seen in a very long time, especially since the idea of this movie is plausible but it isn't really a good movie. Yes it's a good horror/thriller movie but not anything superb. July 7, 2008

Wanted - R This out of proportion action flick kept me entertained the whole time with it's humor, crazy CGI effects, and sweet fighting sequences. There were several aspects of an action movie that I've wanted to see played out and this movie finally fulfills those wants. If you like action this wild ride is in your face through and through. I wouldn't discourage anyone from seeing this one but while it is above average, there's no need to rush out. I guess the best way to describe this one would be "Worth seeing eventually." 10,000 B.C. - PG-13 There was no background story and very little character development so there were several scenes that didn't makes sense (i.e. characters that were supposed to be pivotal but were just distracting). The acting was lame, the CGI slightly unbelievable and the characters static. This movie was not worth it at all and I would not suggest it at all. July 3, 2008

Balls of Fury - PG-13 It was one of those movies that all the funny stuff was in the previews... but I don't really remember laughing during the previews. Original that is for sure though. **NOTE** The extra half star comes from Christopher Walken being ridiculous and him not knowing what he is saying. June 30, 2008

Perfect Stranger - R Don't watch this movie, it's just alright but it's not worth watching. The twist isn't surprising but the bad cinematography is. Sure Willis does an alright job acting but this movie seriously shouldn't have been made. June 30, 2008

Spider-Man 3 - PG-13 Don't even get me started on how much of a let down this conclusion was. I don't mind if I never see this movie again. June 30, 2008

Year of the Dog - PG-13 If you like dark comedy then this movie is for you but if you don't I wouldn't suggest it. June 30, 2008

Diary of the Dead - R As eager as I was to see this movie and as much as I wanted to this one to rock my socks, it failed me as a movie yet not as a Romero experience. It had all the classic gore that Romero brings yet not the classic style. I love the idea that it's all from a handy cam point of view but this portrayal was a mockery of the style. Yeah it's cool but don't have your characters lose value or depth because their "handling the camera." The acting was bad, the editing was lame and the overall movie was a disappointment. As a movie, 2 stars, as a Romero experience, 3 stars. June 30, 2008

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - PG-13 I must start this review by stating that Cate Blanchett did an absolutely stunning job in this film. Overall, this historical drama is accurate and pleasant to watch as long as you can follow it. My only complaint is that there were several scenes in which I felt left out or as if I'd missed something but thankfully I watched this movie with a history lover who filled me in on facts I needed to know. Another problem was how quickly it went from being a story about the Queen to being a story about this abrupt war, that was only previously mentioned once, in the last 15 minutes. Overall a good film and well worth the time if you love Queen Elizabeth. June 29, 2008

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - PG-13 I'm a fan of the Harry Potter movies even though they aren't anything superb or mind blowing. This installment however flowed the worst of any of the others to date. There were scenes that were long that could have been shorter and there were scenes that were short that needed to be longer to make sense. There are multiple accounts of dialogue in which I felt lost having only been referenced once before in the movie in passing conversation. Inconsistent and inconclusive are the only negative things about this movie though due to the stimulating final battles, even if they don't flow, appear suddenly and end abruptly. Worth seeing if you like the series but if you haven't started, don't start here. June 29, 2008

30 Days of Night - R Sure, blood thirsty super vampires are always sweet but that doesn't make this a good movie. The editing is bad because supposedly they all went 7 days without food in an attic, then lived 11 more in a food store then 9 more in a police station, all the while staying alive and not once attracting the vampires despite there keen sense of hearing that is shown later in the movie. Yet despite several technical flaws, this movie's action sequences are bloody and cool (even if the movie doesn't explain how they got there) so that aspect I liked; hence where the extra half star came from. I did also like the Lugosi and Romero references too. Overall, if you like gory horror movies and don't care about plot or consistency, this one's for you. June 29, 2008

Music and Lyrics - PG-13 The catchy song makes up for some minor flaws but overall it is still just your average romantic-comedy. June 29, 2008

Superbad - R This hilariously true comedy is a must see for anyone of my generation and for any fan of comedy. This is probably the movie that I've laughed the most at after it was over too. Well worth seeing. June 29, 2008

Pulp Fiction - R Definitely one of the best movies ever made. A dramatically action packed movie filled characterization, intelligent dialogue, and an amazing story. The sub-plots are intriguing enough to keep the interest yet not distract. Also, this all-star cast provides powerful acting. June 29, 2008

Tekon Kinkurīto (Tekkonkinkreet) - R This movie is as visually stimulating as it is entertaining and has a surprisingly captivating plot. The only reason it doesn't receive a 4 star rating is because of the weird "other world" scene with Black, but that's just a personal preference. June 29, 2008
