A solid reworking of the original. I had several laugh out loud moments. Some of which I'm sure I wasn't meant to, but this is no bad thing. I had hoped there would be some bits that were cheesy or over-egged, just like with the original. Jackie does a good turn as a man living with regret. It's obvious that Jaden Smith put in some extensive training. However I found his comedy acting a bit cringe-worthy. I know that he's was acting like someone who is trying to act funny in order to impress a girl. But there was something off about it; perhaps too much like he was trying to emulate his father? There was adequate substitutes and homage to the original film, but not too many. And the end leaves you feeling good inside. An enjoyable film.
