High Noon
GREATEST WESTERN EVER.
3
The Great Escape (1963,  Unrated)
The Great Escape
So many great actors. Film doesn't take it easy when it could pull punches. Sturges knows how to make a picture.
4
Caddyshack (1980,  R)
Caddyshack
Chevy Chase when he was funny and Ted Knight in what I consider to be an Oscar turn. Michael O'Keefe is not attractive.

Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980,  PG)
11
The Magnificent Seven (1960,  Unrated)

What? This is Sturges too? You're damn right. When I found out Brynner hated McQueen I loved it even more.

Lat sau san taam (Hard-Boiled)
In my opinion, the greatest action film of all time. Chow Yun-Fat and Tony Leung are great and John Woo starts off insanely and ends with the greatest single-take action scene in cinematic history.
16
Army of Darkness (1993,  R)
Army of Darkness
AWESOME!! You are a total idiot if you don't love this flick. Bruce Campbell is the man!
17
The Goonies (1985,  PG)

This movie defined my childhood. I couldn't wait to find pirate treasure. Boy oh boy does real life suck it.
18
Ghost Busters (Ghostbusters) (1984,  PG)

Kurosawa is infallible. Great take on King Lear. Awesome use of color and scenery.
23
The Shining (1980,  R)
24
The Maltese Falcon (1941,  Unrated)
The Maltese Falcon
The quintessential hardboiled detective film. Too much for me to say. Not a single throw-away moment.
25
Billy Madison (1995,  PG-13)
Billy Madison
Sheer brilliance. What a novel idea. The supporting roles are filled with SNL castoffs and nothing is a throwaway.
26
Wet Hot American Summer (2001,  R)
