Come see this movie with me...
The Heiress
by AudreyIs the delusion of "love" better than living without love? An excellent film by William Wyler in 1949, starring Montgomery Clift and Olivia de Haviland. An awkward, plain unmarried (mature) woman is swept off her feet by a handsome young man with an eye to her fortune. He makes her happy-almost transforming her into a vibrant and happy woman. Her shot at love is sabataged by her father who suspects the young man's motives, but more importantly, cannot believe that any man could love his dull, plain daughter.De Haviland is excellent in portaying a woman transformed, again and again. The ending was spectacular.

I recommend you see...Yes I waited 10 years to watch it. And it was good. The 1981 concept of 'A Brain in a Vat' is very well explained. Props. Could have been better though.

Wolf
by AudreyI rated this film highly becuase of my affinity for absolutely excellent dialogue-mostly delivered by Nicholson but Pfeiffer holds her own. The dialogue is crisp, clever and as subtle as, well a warewolf (?)...The story is OK-it's an entertaining film and I was pleased to watch it again today for the first time since it's release. One of Nicholson's lesser known good roles.
Hey-I had forgotten about this movie and enjoyed catching it on TV today-give it a try!

M
by AudreyFinally I got to see Fritz Lang's "M" heralded as the film from which film noire and the serial killer genres developed. It was a very grainy film, watched on line with subtitles (public domain). Even under these less than ideal circumstances, the film was excellent and I wished that it was better preserved so I could fully experience the ingenius use of black and white cinematography and the artful use of shadows and darkness.
It was a film so far ahead of it's time-it was eerie. I found myself wondering what possible political/social influences were at play-given the time frame in which the film was made...Ingenius, and foreboding....Peter Lorrie was excellent!!!!Hey, you should really see this!

A Doll's House
by AudreyA wonderful screen adaptation of Henrick Ibsen's play -starring Anthony Hopkins and Claire Bloom.(1973). The rigidity and oppression of Victorian era marriage is superbly demonstrated by the relationship between Torvald and Nora. When a crisis occurs, it sets in motion a chain of events that must culminate in the dissolution of the relationship,as well as the destruction of the roles, illusions and delusions that kept them together for several years.
Although Bloom is quite successful in the role-I could'nt help but be bothered by her "looking" too old for the role of the child-like Nora.maybe she was cast for just that reason??? A masterpiece in human relations-great dialogue and Hopkins is,as usual stellar. Not everyone's cup of tea-but give it a chance!

Shaun of the Dead
by AudreyLet me start out by saying that I haven't been into Zombie movies in a very long time-which is why I had'nt seen this movie until today. Not your run of the mill Zombie flick-it is CLEVER,WITTY AND HYSTERICAL. OK so there is alot of gore and blood-letting but within the context of a very, very funny movie. Simon Pegg is phenomenal!!!!

Pineapple Express
by AudreyHYSTERICAL!! This is right up there with Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle and Napolean Dynomite for me. My only complaint is that the director evidently tried too hard to stretch out a very funny film and the last 20 minutes or so seemed too much.Poor editing perhaps??? I laughed out loud several times and definitely will watch again.
Highly recommended!!!
