This film was all I expected, and more. When I read reviews about it being the best film of '06, I thought it was too overrated. After seeing it, you too will agree that it is one strong contender. Clive Owen shines - he is undoubtedly one of the best british actors of our time. Two great things about this film -One is the camera angles, and I can safely say this is the first time I've said that about a film. You believe your are part of the action, the camera men run with the actors - follow them and so you feel like you are taking part. At one point, blood flies onto the camera lens. Instead of it being wiped of, it is left, still adding to the realism of the film. The other is the fact that it is so realistic, you believe it is happening. You are pulled into the situation and the characters struggle. Yes, you can believe many films, but then you leave the cinema questioning so much. This film is the exact opposite, you leave the cinema thinking "well... What If .....?" The only thing about this film is the ending. It leaves you with so many questions, and you want to know more. But because the film in its entire is so superb, you can ignore that and just marvel at what you have just witnessed.

My Favourite Film. In The World. Ever. And I've seen a lot of films. I dont't know what I can possibly say to get how I feel about this film across. I've only seen it once, but it touched me so much I have never forgotten it. Of course it is Johnny Depp - which helps... Not just the fact that hes so hot ... But he does the role justice, you feel sympathy, anger, hatred, towards his character all at the same time. Perhaps what touches you the most is the fact this is a true story. Someone has gone through this, and ended up in prison. It teaches you a lot about life, it leaves you with thoughts of who you are and what you want to be... It makes you question what to do with life... Do we live it? Or do we abide the law, because we have to? And is it not possible to really live, and stick to the rules? Trust me, watch it.
