Meet the Feebles - R yikes.. British Muppets gone wrong and lots of it. perhaps a bit too much.. although I loved the creepy chicken/elephant baby and the bulldog + warthog gang that reminded me of Beebop and Rocksteady. March 18, 2009

Rachel Getting Married - R a unique story dealing with guilt, regret and grief. kind of depressing.. but a great movie that any black sheep will appreciate. March 18, 2009

The The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes - Unrated gotta love the Brothers Quay.. but don't watch this movie if you're looking for an amazing plot. visually= stunning.. everything else= really lame and kinda boring. March 16, 2009

The Other Boleyn Girl - PG-13 at first I thought: Natalie Portman + Scarlett Johansson = hott! but then I saw the PG-13 rating and got really bummed. But in the end this film was pretty sweet.. I was not expecting to be so sucked into this film... but how could I not like a film that is as man-hating as this? March 15, 2009

The Visitor - PG-13 I liked it more than I thought I would.. I picked it up because of Richard Jenkins, and he is brilliant as always. what's with all of the angsty college professors being in every movie lately? March 15, 2009

Twelve Monkeys (12 Monkeys) - R it kinda creeped me out to hear Bruce Willis say "All I see are dead people" in this movie. March 14, 2009

His Name Was Jason: 30 Years of Friday the 13th - Unrated meh... interesting at first, but it was just way too long. I love Tom Savini so I guess I can't hate it too much... but you'd be better off watching Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film. March 14, 2009

Rocky - PG this movie is great for its quotability alone:

"Look it's the name man. The I-talian Stallion. The media will eat it up.Now who discovered America? An Italian right? What better way to get it on than with one of its descendants? "

genius.

Stir of Echoes - R if The Shining and The Sixth Sense had a baby it would be this creepy movie. March 9, 2009

Wanted - R I'm such a sucker for hot cars chases, bullet duels, and things randomly in slow motion. go comics!

Morgan Freeman + "shoot this motherfucker" = hilarious!

Going to Pieces: The Rise and Fall of the Slasher Film - Unrated surprisingly great documentary. February 28, 2009

The Haunting - Unrated a beautifully creepy adaptation of a great story of a slow descent into madness. The sound in this film is absolutely brilliant. I enjoy it more every time I watch it. classic. February 27, 2009

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - PG-13 this movie is way too fucking long. February 22, 2009

Revolutionary Road - R I always love uber feminist suburbia stories. It's like American Beauty meets The Hours.. but with Dylan Baker (AKA The Lizard!) kind of predictable (very Woolfe/Chopin-esque) but very well done... loved it! and I would love to read the novel. February 21, 2009

sex, lies, and videotape - R meh.. not bad, it just didn't seem to be my kind of movie. February 20, 2009

1984 (Nineteen Eighty-Four) - R a slow start, but I loved the ending. February 18, 2009

House (Ding Dong, You're Dead) - R I thought this movie was pretty great.. who wouldn't like a house haunted by fun war veteran monsters from another dimension? It reminded me of In The Mouth of Madness.. which is another great film. awesome. February 14, 2009

Burn After Reading - R I really keep trying to like Coen brother movies.. but this just wasn't doin it for me. I loved the cast (John Malkovich and Brad Pitt was pretty hilarious) and laughed a few times, but overall I was underwhelmed. February 14, 2009

Burnt Offerings - PG great haunted house story. The ending was especially disturbing and definitely not PG despite the rating. Bette Davis is such a badass! February 12, 2009

Monster House - PG great haunted house story... although the ending was a little extreme (but that seems to be a trend in haunted house films these days) Also, how could you not enjoy Steve Buscemi as a crotchety old man? rock! February 9, 2009

The Haunting - PG-13 Because I am a fan of the novel and the original film, I wasn't expecting much from this remake. It started off great and I thought it was going to be a very interesting/contemporary retelling of Shirley Jackson's tale.. but yet again here is another potentially very creepy haunted house/ghost film that is ruined with too many bad special effects, unnecessary and overly complicated backstory, and not enough ambiguity. My Name Is Bruce - R groovy February 1, 2009

The Prowler - R a decent slasher flick with amazing special effects by my man Tom Savini. A killer with a pitchfork for a weapon? really? kinda lame. January 31, 2009

Baghead - R this film is fun, scary, and sincere. I loved the Elvis/Bruce Campbell dude and the indie art film at the beginning.. hilarious. January 30, 2009
