I don't know if the recent passing of Brittany Murphy inspired me to watch this gem again, but I'd almost forgotten how good it actually is. This is like watching a musical.......only it isn't a musical at all. Music from all genres are used to symbolize the "songs" of penguins and our hero "Mumbles" is the one penguin who doesn't have a song..........but he has Happy Feet. I love the fact that the one thing that makes you different from those you would fit in with........is the one thing that is most often needed. Excellent movie.

It was okay. So I watched it again recently and I don't know why I didn't notice the embarrassing "Matrix" rip off.......this movie is basically The Matrix with vampires. Popcorn fun.........only not so much fun. Kate Beckinsale was fun to watch though.

Perhaps my all around favorite movie because it covers all of the basics: Action, humor, music, story and heart.

I'd give it six if I could. I don't really know how to critique a movie. I just know how they make me feel. No movie has ever impacted me as significantly as this one. I loved movies before I saw this in '77, but movies became my passion after I saw it.
