My name is Kenny. I live in Canada. Im a movie geek. I love movies. I write reviews of films, I write poetry and stories. I am a creative person at heart and I like to talk to anyone who is nice and wants to talk to me because they respect who I am.
Becca: Your cock is so smooth! Evan: Your's would be too... if you were a man. One of the best quotes from that movie Movie Simultation Filmography A World Beneath The long and Winding Road Never Again Small Town Hopes Living the Dream Second Chances Lonely View Fahrenheit 451 Live Or Die Patrick Kenzie: You know what? Maybe that'll happen. And if it does, I'll tell them I'm sorry and I'll live with it. But what's never gonna happen and what I'm not gonna do is have to apologize to a grown woman who comes to me and says: "I was kidnapped when I was a little girl, and my aunt hired you to find me. And you did, you found me with some strange family. But you broke your promise and you left me there. Why? Why didn't you bring me home? Because all the snacks and the outfits and the family trips don't matter. They stole me. It wasn't my family and you knew about it and you knew better and you did nothing". And maybe that grown woman will forgive me, but I'll never forgive myself first lines] Patrick Kenzie: I always believed it was the things you don't choose that makes you who you are. Your city, your neighborhood, your family. People here take pride in these things, like it was something they'd accomplished. The bodies around their souls, the cities wrapped around those. I lived on this block my whole life; most of these people have. When your job is to find people who are missing, it helps to know where they started. I find the people who started in the cracks and then fell through. This city can be hard. When I was young, I asked my priest how you could get to heaven and still protect yourself from all the evil in the world. He told me what God said to His children. "You are sheep among wolves. Be wise as serpents, yet innocent as doves." Juno MacGuff: I think I'm in love with you. Paulie Bleeker: You mean as friends? Juno MacGuff: No... I mean for real. 'Cause you're, like, the coolest person I've ever met, and you don't even have to try, you know... Paulie Bleeker: I try really hard, actually. The Joker: I believe whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you... stranger The Joker: [holding a knife inside Gambol's mouth] Wanna know how I got these scars? My father was....a drinker. And a fiend. And one night he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not. One. Bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. Turns to me and he says "Why so serious?" Comes at me with the knife,"Why so serious?" He sticks the blade in my mouth. "Let’s put a smile on that face!" And..... Why so serious Dan: I wasn't trying to wreck Candy's life. I was trying to make mine better Ned: Everything we do is a choice. Burn After Reading
R
This film starts off with Ozzie Cox get fired for his job as a CIA agent. After that it becomes crazy anf confusing but really it gets down to the funny. Ozzie then beigns to ruin his relationship and his wife his cheating with a man named Harry( Clooney). But he isnt quite happy with her, so he puts up a profile on a dating site where he meets Linda (McDormand). whos friend CHad (Pitt) ends up finding some of Ozzies encrypted files at the gym where he works.
Brad Pitt is by far the brighest part of this film. He plays Chad, the fitness trainer whose intelligence level is not very high. Chad is just trying to get money out of Cox, wo he tries to work an angle, the only problem is that he doesnt know what mess he is getting himself into. Pitt really delivers the one liners, the wise cracks and the humor that movie goers have been waiting from him. This is something different from him and it is good to see. Brad really needs to get himself attached to more projects like this one.
George Clooney was great as well. Coming off some recent flops, he really gets his name back on the market. Geroge will be in a lot more movies due to his odd role in this film. It was also good for him to star in such a light hearted comedy which is all about the stupidity of people.
John Malkovich is an amazing actor. Coming off a career that has included Of Mice and Men and In The Line Of Fire. Malkocich just like Clooney and Pitt is amazing. He is the most serious of characters, but that is what makes it funny. He is serious to the point where it is almost to serious.
Great roles from all three lead actors. They all nailed there respective performances.
Lakeview Terrace
PG-13
Abel Turner is an LAPD officer, trained for the worst case scenario. Trained to be rough tough and to be a badass cop. Abel has seen and done a lot of things noone would like to see and do. He has had every type of call, from domestic disturbance to kidnapping to murder. He gets new neighbours who are involved in an interratial relationship. Abel hates it, takes exception to it and turns it into a personal matter.
Neil Labute finally created a film that is succesful. This film definitley gets stronger as it goes, because the real hate begins to show. It goes from petty hatred to real like hatred. Where it becomes life our death for someone involved. It picks up the pace about mid way and never lets up. Some scenes delivering powerful accusations that could be offesnsive to some people.
Samuel L. Jackson sells this film as real. Without him this film would have been nothing but an attempt to deliver message. Sams esxpetise helped the other actors nail down their performances, it helped them to feed off his brilliance. The look was all in his eyes, the look of hatred, of discontent of personal failure. This man has a lot of problems most of which he takes out on his new neighbours.
Patrick Wilson and Kerry Washington were both average at best. They didnt impress for the first half, but both of them really stepped it up a notch and stood their own ground alosnside Sam. Jackson. Great performances by all three when the film conludes. It is Sam that stands out mostly because he is the most experienced.
This film is all about hatred. It is about interratial relationships and how one man doesnt agree with it. There are a few scenes that can be harsh to either race, but mostly this is reverse of the racism the world has come to know. It was so powerful because it was different then most films that deal with racism. Definitley a powerful film.
Here is a quote from this film:
Abel Turner: "I've got nothing against you. But you shouldn't be putting your bedroom scenes out here in front of my kids to see. Maybe some places where that's OK, and maybe that's where you ought to live."
This is just one of the times Abel Turner makes his presence felt. He tells people they are not allowed to do things on their own property, He expects people to listen because he is a cop.
This film is good, for sure a must see. Expect a little dragging at first, but once it gets going it gets going with force.
Gabriel
Unrated
Gbariel tells the story of the battle agaisnt light and dark, and the archangels and the fallen who battle for ulitmate reign on the planet earth. Gabriel is the last of the archs sent here to destroy the fallen and end the darkness that has become of earth. While on earth he battles, but he tries to help save the archs that were lost to such things as addiction and pain. The only problem the healing of these archs reveals the whereabouts of Gabriel.
The cast is made up of virtually unknown actors, and that makes it better. It allows people who really want to watch it for its content to sit and enjoy the messages it sends. The cast doesnt fail and that makes this film even better. A cast of unknowns delivers what could be on the darkest, most real like fantasy film that could be watched.
This film was full of messages, messages that were not easy to catch. The most important one being that it is hard to make a difference when noone believes in you and the cause you fight for. The one message Gabriel sends is that no matter how tough things get, you yourself need to believe in the cause you fight for. Only people who strongly believe will fight until the death, even if it means giving up your own happiness.
Here is a quote from the film:
Gabriel: [reading letter from Michael] Gabriel, if you are reading this, then I have failed. We are far from grace, further than I could ever imagine. You will feel things that will cloud your judgement. This enemy within is strong and unpredictable. Control these emotions or the fight cannot be won. The others have failed, learn from them but do not follow. You are the last. Michael.
This quote sums up that all archs ahead of Gabriel failed. They couldnt not defeat the fallen, and a lot of them gave in to fear and dropped off the map and lived like a human.
This film is amazing with messages and battling for a good cause, one that not many people believe in.
Candy
R
Candy tells the story of Candy and Dan, two lovers who bith believe in the arts. Candy is a painter and Dan is a poet. They met and fell in love like it was meant to be. Dan was a heroin addict and Candy quickly changed her lifestyle to accompany his. Candy and Dan begin to spiral down and out of control. Can anything save these two lovers?
Heath Ledger and Abbie Cornish are both flawless. These two are so brilliant that this film becomes so hard to watch. Heath plays Dan, a man who loves Candy and will do anything for her, yet he got in to deep and now he has an addiction. Heath is so powerful and his and Abbies portryals are both so realistic it hurts after a while to watch.
Candy is probably the most powerful film I have ever watched in my life. It is a tragedy and about half way through there is a scene that just makes the best of us breakdown and cry. It is the most painfully realistic film to be releases in years, There is no glorification of drugs, it shows the struggles of trying to quit and trying to settle down and have a family. The tempations are so strong, that sometimes even the most willing of people cannot give up what pains the most.
The Chemistry between Heath and Abbie makes this films message so much deeper. Dan and Candy begin to drift apart and when Candy suffers a nervous breakdown they are forced to make a choice. Whether or not staying together is good for both of them.
Candy is a hard film to watch, it makes you cry. This film is the first film to ever get me crying half way through and I was still crying for about an hour after it was completed. As a movie it is a good, but its so painfully real that it would be hard to watch a second time. The acting is perfect and that makes it harder to watch. This film will leave you with so many mixed emotions that you wont even know what to think or feel when its done except sadness. Great performances by Heath Ledger and Abbie Cornish.
Here are a couple of quotes from the film Candy that will sum up how sad this film actually is.
Dan: I wasn't trying to wreck Candy's life. I was trying to make mine better.
Casper: [to Dan] Promise me you'll stop. Promise me you'll stop before I do.
Once upon a time there was Candy and Dan. It was just the two of them. Everything was gold. He was handsome and a very good criminal. We lived on sunlight and chocolate bars. He would climb balconies, climb everywhere, do anything for her. Her Danny boy. He came into my life really fast and I liked it. But Danny, you said, you promised, you pointed at the sky: That one is called Sirius, the Dog Star, but only here on Earth. How much do I love this worrying in my ears, since there is only one thing to love and it can not be you. Danny the daredevil. Candy went missing."
Once again this film is so painfully real it hurts to watch it.
The Four Feathers
PG-13
Harry Feversham (Ledger) is a british soldier who has it all. He has love, friendship and has a bright future in politics, until he is to be sent off to war and he resigns. His lover Ethne (Hudson) leaves him at the altar when she finds out what she does. Then Harry revieves the four white feathers of cowardice from his old regiment. Harry is down about himself, so he isolates himself from the rest of society, until he hear that his regiment has been attacked in Sudan, he takes it upon himself to make sure his friends make it out alive.
Harry Feversham is a man divided by what he knows is right and what he wants to do. He knows going to war is right, he knows it is what he has to do. but he doesnt want to do it, so he quites the army and uses any excuse he can find. His emotions get the best of him and he begins to sleep little and eat sleep and breath the movements of the army in the Sudan until he hears they have been attacked. Harry is full of emotions that vary from love to anger to confusion to sadness. A wide range of emotions are sometimes hard to portray, it can be difficult for one actor to switch on demand in many different situations. HeathLedger gives a mezmerizing performance that is amazing in so many levels. Even when the story is lacking, his performance is still enough to keep the film going. His performance is purely amazing. There are so many praises that can be given to this performance, but it leaves me at a loss for words.
Kate Hudson is also really good. She makes love seem like something that is easy to forget. She makes love seem like a game that you can play. She makes it seem easy to fall in out of love. That is not the case, but the performance value is still there. This is probably the best film Kate will be in. She played her part with passion and hope. Great job.
Wes Bentley played Jake, Harry's best friend from the army, the only man who believed Harry was not really a coward, just plain old scared like every other man in the army, he was just the one the fear got to the most. Bentley is fantastic and caps it off along with Ledger and Hudson and Djimon Hounsou.
This film develops rather fast, with a few quick images of Harry after the war starts, sitting along thinking about a way to get on with his life. He cannot seem to do it. He just trys so hard to convince himself he did the right thing. The story progresses fast until Harry goes to Sudan, then it is fill of explantion, and harships that are shown in intriquet detail. This film is a strong film from start to finish.
Here are a couple of quotes from the film
Harry Faversham: When something like this happens you are lost. You don't know who you are anymore and what you're capable of. Unless I do something this is always how people will remember me. A feather. And that is how I will always see myself: a coward. All I know is that I can't live with myself like this
This quote shows that Harry feels bad about being labelled a coward. He wants them to know him as something more, something real, something worth remembering.
Jack Durrance: I suppose I'm going because you are going. There is no one I'd sooner trust my life with. You're all that matters.
This quote is significant in the whole reason why Harry may have quit the army. Jack made Harry believe that he was going because they were friends and they were in this together. Harry thought that if he didnt go then Jack wouldnt risk his life either.
This film was full of thoughtful struggles deep withing our minds that center around beliefs in the right and wrong.Great film, full of messages, full of action and great acting. This film is the complete package when it comes to film.
I'm Not There
R
This Film is great from start to finish. Each stage of Bob Dylans life is represented . Jack(Bale) Represents the early stages of Greenich Village. Jack represents when Dylan begins to sing Folk and stands up for what he believes in. He writes protest songs and people begin to fall in love with his ability to move a crowd with his ballads and his hopes and dreams. After Jack falls from the top we meet Robbie (Ledger) an actor who portrays Jack Collins in a film and who later falls in love at a coffee shop. He ends up married and on the road a lot thus representing the struggles in Bob Dylans life to maintian a family. After life begins to build up and Robbie spends more time on the road we are introuduced to Jude(Blanchett) and this character is the one that opens the film up. This character brings the film to new horizons showing us the artist side and creativity to the person Bob Dylan was. Jude begins to write protest songs but is entirely misunderstood. He is thrown into a load of situations involving a poet named Allen (David Cross) and his loved by a groupie (Michelle Williams). When Jude begins to stuggle to find meaning and happiness we are brought back to Jack who is found Jesus. After this we are introuduced to the final version of Dylan who in the film is named Billy. Billy (Richard Gere) lives in the woods and is secluded from all forms of public relations except for small town life. He lives here happily for twenty years but of course he is brought back into the public life by the threat of a new six lane highway that will tear his town apart. He then escapes on a train and then the last we see is Jude singing a song which ultimately represents the complete turn in which the life of Bob Dylan took.
Great memorable characters are hard to create especially if the are trying to mimic someone that was real. Christian Bale did a sincere and honest job as the early Dylan bought noone really bought into his role. He set up for the main parts of the movie. Heath Ledger came in and took over for Christian Bale playing an entirely different Bob Dylan. Heath did an awesome job playing a struggling family man also trying to juggle his career. So much anticpation was riding on Heath because this was the type of film that he could challenge himself as an actor. Heath did an awesome job and this is one of my fave of his movies in his career. Heath had an awesome career, that was cut way to short, but the films in which he choose were spectacular and visually appealing to all people to looking to watch a sophisticated movie. Cate Blanchett stole the show which is not surprising to me at all.She did the best job of sounding and portraying the way Bob Dylan actually was throughout the mid sixties.Cate was a good addition to the film playing a man but if you did not know then and even if you did this role was still one of the best roles of the year. Bruce Greenwood , Michelle Williams and David Cross were the actors who were hired to fill in the missing peices and they did just that. There characters were little, but held meaning and each one of them did a good job to secure that the films plot held strong and that the people understood the life of Bob Dylan.
The settings were appealing and the story stood out. The characters who all happened to represent Bob Dylan still all came off the screen with there own personality traits that help structure the plot. It was fun to watch the characters intertwine and never once did any of the representations of Bob Dylan come together on screen. Awesome movie, one the best biopics that one can watch in recent years. The film was almost 2 hrs and 20 mins but with all the different characters it kept the audience into it. If they wouls have had the same actor run around playing Dylan then the film would have gotten boring. But since they had characters that we all know represented Dylan but held different names it gave the audience that feel that maybe it was not always Bob Dylan but the struggles just six different people.
Bob Dylan is well respected and alot of people know who he is. This film is meant for the people who have heard about his life and know what he has accomplished. If you know nothing about Bob Dylan you may still enjoy this film but it may cause a little more confusion. Still an all around good film and one that all true music fans would love.

This movie was the best movie of 2006, it was a story that has happened and was a movie that showed the true effects of the diamond industry and what they do to get the diamonds oveer to a place that will sell them Leonardo Dicaprio has really become an awesome actor and he is really someone to watch out for in the next few years, their was been early rumors about leo winning best actor and after watching this movie i feel that he definitley should and that it would be ashame if he didnt Djimon Hounsou played such a wonderfull part in this movie, his character of solomon vandy shouldnt have been mixed up in this but he wanted his Family back and he wanted his life back. The army took his son and he went on this journey to get him back Jennifer Connelly definitley fit in this movie, sometimes they dont make a space for a third person but in this movie they sure did. this movie was totally graphic and you could se that in the way they showed the scences of the miliray making kids do their work. and the scenes which showed all those people getting shot were really shocking to watch because you never think of thjese thongs happening This movie was an all around good film that i believe everyone should watch sometime ib their life

The Dark Knight
PG-13
The Dark Knight begins with Batman working with Jim Gordon(Oldman) who is the cop willing to do what it takes to end crime in Gotham City. With the help of Harvey Dent( Eckhart) and Rachel Dawes (Gyllenhaal) they have to unite and figure out what is right to stop the new criminal of Gotham City simply known as the Joker(Ledger). The joker is phycopathic and plays on the emotions and it doesnt it for kicks, not really having a motive. The Late Heath Ledger is flawless. Everything and anything good that has been said about his portrayal is accurate. Heath delivers his lines, and it goves you chills when he says what he says. Heath's portrayal of the Joker is far more sinical then anyother villian I have seen to date. He is willing to do anything, just to prove his point, just to get the thrill of explosions and killing. Heath Ledger will always be remembered. Heath deserves the posthumous oscar award. He deserves any and all praise willing to be given. Flawless portrayal. It left me speachless for a good half an hour after I watched it. Gary Oldman and Christian Bale do such a wonderful job playing Batman and Gordon. Batman is different this time around.Gordon is willing to take down thw criminals but Batman isnt so sure that they can take down the Joker. The Special affects are rocking. The Story is perfect, The acting is flawless. This is the best comic book adaption I have ever scene. Chris and Jonathon Nolan wrote a script that will never be forgotten. This film is stand alone when you think of comic book adaptions. This is the Batman we were all waiting to see. This is the Joker that we have come to wish for. This is the movie that will end up being the best of 08. This movie will go down in history. Its more then just Batman, its the Joker, its acting at its finest, its A struggle of knowing what is right and what is wrong. Its characters developed to the point where it almost seems real. R.I.P Heath Ledger 1979-2008.

American History X
R
Arguably one of the best movies i have ever watched in my life, it hooks you right from the start when derek says he wants revenge for the death of his father. Emotions run wild as derek is sent away for three years for avenging his father in one of the worst ways possible with murder. Right Away Ed Norton establishes the mood when he is shown with a swatika tatoo n his chest, the rest of the film becomes a power struggle of races with the whites feeling the blacks to be surperiour. Norton who plays a neo-nazi skinhead can almost get the audience to understand the white suprmesit point of view. He describes in suck marvelling and sickening detail why the white supremist movements in the states are the way of the future. The message that he gives is really quite shocking and mind blowing leaving , in the end leaving the audience saying that they cant understand why someone would want to live there life that way. Never the less the film goes from an all out battle of the races to a battle of inner emotions and physcoligical issues. While in jail Derek sheads his Racist ways but no shifts his emtions to his high school brother, who is afetr the effection of his older brother, and figures the only way he can to do that is to be like he used to be. Derek is fearing death and it will strike in the end of the film, and the end of the film will rack up so many emotions in you that you almost want to break down and cry and question the meaning of life and why people do what they do. What satisfaction do people get out of that life. The story also deals with a sub plot and that is that Danny"s prinicpal is a black man trying to teach him not to respect the likes of hitler. The sub plot takes away from the gang violence and tries to answer all the answered questions. Truly worthy of the five stars it merits and a must see film of all time. It will leave you saddened but it will also leave you with a different outlook on life and how you will handle sitautions from here on out. The film is unlike many films cause not alot of films want to exploit gang violence and ratial wars, but they are out there and why not get people to fully undersatnd them, make your points about white surpremcy but dont overdo, as Tony Kaye the director almost made himself out to be racist by getting to much in depth and speaking what appears to be a personal opinion and not so much a fact. Still worthy of the five stars i gave it, cause it truly does deal with a real life issue one that cant face much more exploitation in the media or news cause it may only further escalate

Juno
PG-13
Juno is a great film that really has a great story and is fun to watch. It is about pregnant teenager Juno McGuff and her friend Paulie Bleeker the father of her baby. Juno is a wise teenager and she realizes that she is not in the predicament to take care of a child and raise it when her and Paulie are not even together. Juno tries to make sure that she is giving her baby up to the right people. In the end it is sad and really reflects on todays societ and this film does not make life seem perfect.
Ellen Page is joyous as the quirky and witty Juno. Ellen is a debuting as a starring actress in this film and this film is worth celebrating for her. She gained an academy award nomination. She really does show the true sides of being in todays society and what is like to be considered an outsider and not have many friends. Ellen is going to be a mainstreamer for many years and with a debut role of the calibre how can one go wrong.
Michael Cera is just one of those watchable actors. He is funny and crazy in Aressted Development and then takes it up a notch in Superbad a funny comedy worth wacthing if that I say so myself/ Cera does something in Juno that he has never done something Im glad he did. He really showed he has a career in something more then a comedy. He is fun to watch on the bigscreen. He really has a I-Try-really -hard-look. Great performance and great intimacy between Ellen and Michael. Cera is going to be one of my top ten must watch actors over the next few years.
Juno was a well recieved Indie flixk that really does have a lot to make it good. Word of mouth and the hype spreads to quickly. This is the type of film that is more apreaciated if it is seen earlier on in its release. After a while it starts to be well-praised and almost deemed as the perfect film to watch. It is great and fun to watch and really could end up being the top film of 07.
The reason that so many people will accpet it this film in the end is because it truly does reflect todays society and how we live. It does not end all happy. It truly steps aside and delivers the knockout ending punch that so many film fans have been wanting to see for such a long time. It really does not end all Hollywoodish and it really never portrays itself as the big hollywood blockbuster. Great marketing and a great story along with a few well known actors and actresses really are what caught everyones eye.
Definitley a must see movie, despite all its hype, put it all aside and look at it as a hole and then it will become clear that it is a must see of 07
