As an adult this is my all time favorite movie. Jean Reno is now one of my favorite actors and he can do no wrong. Even if the movie he's in is horrible, he'll still be amazing. Natalie Portman should have been given an Oscar for this movie.
Ronin 3. Ronin R 5.0 Stars
Jean Reno is my favorite actor and him working with DeNiro is great... this movie has some of the best action, mystery and one of the best car chases ever. If you havent' seen it just go buy it today
Children of Men 4. Children of Men R 5.0 Stars
Best movie of 2006? Yeah it just might be. THis movie belw me away. It's hauntingly beautiful and terrifying The Reason it hit with me so much is the fact that this is my generation in 20 years. This film is so perfect that i'm giving it the oscar now. I'm stealing it and WAM... oscar gold.
Fight Club 5. Fight Club R 5.0 Stars
Along with the Matrix this is one of the best films of the past 10 years. Inspiring to watch and addicting as well. The replay value if it is high because you always notice something new every single time... a directors cut or an extended cut needs to be released on the 10 year aniversary... and the moment it's on blu-ray i'm snaggin it
Kill Bill: Volume 1 6. Kill Bill: Volume 1 R 5.0 Stars
So brutally violent. I loved it. Tarantino at his best.

So I had planned to see this on my birthday and when I went to buy tickets a week before, I shouldn't have been surprised that it was sold out! I had to see it on Imax, which by the way you should too cause it's awesome! So I had to wait a day later but I will say it again, it was worth the wait!
I definitely think it was in the same realm as Batman Begins, but that movie was just the beginning.
I have to disagree with all the critics that say that the only reason why so many people saw it was because of Heath Ledger's untimely death. Do they not know we have been talking about this movie for over a year now? Don't they know how excited we were with each new poster and how much we died to see a new glimpse of the movie???
The Joker was great! He did an excellent job. Totally different from how Jack Nickleson portrayed him, a lot darker, and that was perfect!
Christian Bale is still my favorite pick for Batman. I have to admit though when I first heard him speak, I giggled. It sounded so funny to how Bruce Wayne talked.
Kudos to Christopher Nolan for doing such a great job and I'm excited to see what happens next.
I heard that Two Face looked horrible but when I saw him for the first time, I loved it! I don't know why but that whole skeleton look really did it for me. I wish we could have seen more.
If you waited and talked about this movie as long as I did, I don't think you will be disappointed. Actually, the only disappointment you'll feel is when Batman is driving away and you realize the movie may be finished. I was disappointed that when me and a few others stayed until the credits were done, there wasn't anything there. Wish someone (and I think he knows who he is) would have written his review already!
So what are you waiting for?! Go see this on Imax!
i don't know who, what, where, when the watchmen are, is but the trailer looked cool! :)

    WALL-E WALL-E
    5.0 Stars by ~Lissa~
Who knew that a non-talking robot could make a movie so great, and an animation at that!
Wall*E is just one of those movies you must see regardless if it's your type of movie or not.
He's this cute endearing waste collecting robot that's left on Earth to clean up our mess. The humans have left years ago when the planet became too unhabitable.
Wall*E lives a happy life, finding treasures in the trash that he takes home to share with his friend the cockroach.
One of the treasures he finds is a living plant that ultimitely leads to the love of his life, Eve. She is sent down to Earth to determine if it's sustainable and Wall*E falls head over heels for her.
The whole movie moved along so nice and really captures your attention. It was funny to see how much of slobs the humans had become because I can totally see that happening. Robots taking over, that too. Mankind fighting their way back to reclaim Earth, hopefully.
Whether old or young, animation fan or not, go see this movie! I can't imagine you'd regret it!

At first I was not interested in seeing this film, the sight of Poehler peeing in a sink is not my idea of good comedy. However the film has some good laughs, and some of the better comedy I've seen from Tina Fey. I like her but her comedy seems to be a mix of good and bad, sometimes she's funny, sometimes she's not. In this film it's more than not, also, women will enjoy the film and its comedy much more than men.

Now, I won't admit I was wrong thinking it was bad, however, it was not as bad as I assumed it would have been. It was JUST passable as a movie that I would see, on a whim, with some friends at the theater. I wouldn't plan to see it, I wouldn't go out late on a Friday/Saturday just to see it. But on a slow Monday/Thursday afternoon when you're just hanging downtown, it is a good movie to see. No real thinking, some quaint comedy and a story that doesn't get too bad too fast. However, the last 15 minutes were both rushed, predictable and was not synergistic with the rest of the movie. However, this is becoming a common occurance in movies lately.

Not great, not bad, just right for an afternoon time killer.
A perfect mid-day movie on a slow and casual weekday. (Rent, don't buy)

    *groan*

A lot of people have shown their distaste for this movie, some people actually liked it. I am here to tell you what was good, what was bad, and exactly why this ship sunk instead of floated.

The first 20 minutes are actually really really good, the first 5 especially. Call me crazy but I think as an actor, Wahlberg falls into a niche, one of action, comedy and adventure (almost like a B-movie performance actor, but with potential) and I'm really waiting for a movie that truly capitalizes on his ability to be serious and funny at the same time. This movie almost allowed him to do that, and I will keep my eyes open in the future. Lequizamo is a support role, but you can't really go wrong with him. The plot starts off really good, and leaves you thinking however, I must get to the bad parts.

About the middle of the movie the plot becomes pedantic. It does not stay strong in the minds to keep you "on your toes" and near the end of the film, almost all the things that started off great went from a downpour into a light mist. It totally lost its edge, its comedy and everything else.

The last 20 minutes especially make no sense, it's as if Shyamalan wrote it in 5 minutes before they started filming. Thus the ending kills anything good about the movie. I thought the plot was great, that Wahlberg was an excellent choice and some of the scenes are just excellently done. However, the plot disappears and convolutes near the middle and by the end you really don't care or understand what's going on anymore.

Thus it started with a bang and ended in a whimper.
People have been requesting me to do more reviews, and some specifically asking me what I thought about this film in particular.

The trailer for this film made my jaw drop. It then got consistently bad reviews. Against this I saw it. I will agree, it had some great scenes and started with a very strong plot, but it drizzled and that's a shame. The worst offense a movie can make is to have so much potential just to fall short in the middle.

I'll probably still see the new one, but I am still going to have to pass on the old one. I respect your opinion and no offense but some of the reviews I have read on Rotten Tomatoes are worse than the teenage dribble on this site. Seriously, I respect the work and dedication it takes for critiquing as a career but I find that even in established critical circles when it comes to movies it is still filled with trash.

I can't get behind the collective mind of a site that rates the latest Indiana flick at almost 80% then rate the Zohan movie at 35%. I'm sorry, but to me no matter how you slice that math, it comes out rotten all around.

I may write reviews, and read them, but a real opinion is usually deeply bogged down by the underappreciation or lack of understanding in the film circles, even "professionally" based ones.

Not that Zohan was great, it was o.k., but having such blatant differences in two easily ratable flicks such as those, and in the completely warped weighting that it is done, well, it's not the first indiscretion that I have witnessed through the plant based website or others. No offense.

I have re-thought that as far as the previews go, I might be willing to risk any a CGI flooded film for the sake of preserving the thought of Edward's Bruce Banner. I think it will be worth it, and in a worst case scenario, I'll have the intelligent part of my mind go comatose and just enjoy the visuals when they are on screen. Who knows, maybe it will be a good mix of action and art.

I only say it's bad because I know I wouldn't like it if I saw it. Sites like Rotten Tomatoes is a lot like Flixster in that it's impossible for a movie to really go below 50% or 2.5 stars. I mean, look over Flixster, it's almost impossible, even for a bad movie to go below 3/5 stars (60%) and thus I have never taken those at worth, there's always a bunch of people that give perfect scores, and the people who don't like them rarely ever give below 2 1/2 stars, and thus the average is around the 3/5 stars or 60% ranges, so in all honesty, 60% is completely horrible as an overall rating of a movie online.

I should however clean up the term "bad CGI", even those who enjoyed the first one complained that CGI elements ruined the film. It isn't even just poor CGI (which it is still a fact) however, the attention of the story to focus so much on CGI that it actually hinders the movie as a whole. CGI is usually used as a full element of the film, and addition during fast or hard action scenes or as a compliment to parts that could not be done, even with a stuntman. Jar Jar Binks is a perfect example of too much CGI forcement onto a story. It just completely took away from the film as a whole, which is really what the complaint about the Hulk movies is. Does the CGI in the new one "look great", yes, does it probably take away from the story, well, we'll have to see. Based on the history and the type of story The Hulk is, it is a strong possibility. I will probably still eventually see it, however, I will be quite skeptical based on the mulititude of complementary problems with the film, actors and other parts of the film.

However, I thank you for your opinion.

The Incredible Hulk The Incredible Hulk
    Not Interested by D
I just thought I would give my ideas and reasoning for continuing to not be interested in this film. It's coming out soon and Flixster is plastering the site with advertisements all for the all-mighty dollar.

I'll be honest, when I heard Edward Norton was in it, I was definitely interested. Of course the first one sucked (not that I even saw it) and naturally assumed this would too. I watched the previews, and every time I see Edward on screen, I think to myself that I HAVE to see it. However, the previews pretty much give away the whole story, secondly the CGI is still lame and finally I saw that Liv Tyler was in the movie, which was pretty much the nail that killed the dead horse on this one.

Nothing good has ever come from the no talent ass clown Liv. All be it, she is the daughter of a famous singer, however, unfortunately putting "My daddy makes music" shouldn't be a qualification that allows someone to just start acting in films. Since she continues to blow, I still don't understand how she finds work.

I unfortunately came to the conclusion that I did not want to see a totally crappy movie just to see Edward do great work on Bruce Banner to have the horrible CGI and ultimate sucking of Liv Tyler ruin the whole experience for me.

I may rent, I may get conned into seeing it when friends want to put it in, and I WILL enjoy the Norton, however, I will NOT give the money grubbing jerks my money. I suggest that you take this into account when you choose what movie to put your greenback on.

    Enjoy!
Yet another un-recommendation. Not saying don't see it, but giving you ample heads up of what will be lame, and why I will not see the film voluntarily.
