A brilliant movie that is powerful and has the power to shock, sadden and amuse. A must see.

Fantastic. Johnny Depp's turn as all-singing Sweeney Todd is a kind of less-comic-more-dark Jack Sparrow, but despite the brutal murders he performs, you can't help but feel for him and his losses. Though very brutal, bloody and violent, I really enjoyed this film. I am normally sqeamish, but I coped with this one OK, mainly because it was also surprisingly funny. It blends the boundaries of horror/comedy/musical very well. Tim Burton's best I think and easily one of, if not the, best film of 2007 (though I saw it in 2008 because it's only just been releasedin the UK), even over fellow musical Hairspray. It deserves some awards, definately, maybe even some Oscars for the acting. Definately on my DVD/blu-ray list. An 18 in the UK, I got in at 17 and would say it is suitable for anyone over 16. And, of course, not for those with a weak stomach.
