City of Ember
PG
I Loved the novel so I am so excited to see the movie. I just hope that they don't make a mochary out of it.
The Happening
R
I'm not sure what to think of this movie. The plot was great. It was original and interesting. But the way it was executed was horrible. There was way to much comedy. I thought that this was going to be a full on horror film but instead I got a horror comedy. The acting was awful, and the ending was fairytale. I meen it was a goody goody all is right with the world ending. The only saving grace for this movie was the ending and M. Night managed to ruin it. The only good part of this movie was the gore. But the gore was not enough to save this movie. If you are looking for one of those jaw dropping endings that M. Night Shyamalan is famous for then skip this one. To tell you the truth I've never really liked M. Night. I've always thought that he is highly overated and dosn't deserve 90% of the credit that he gets. The only movie he made that I enjoyed was The Village. So this only adds fuel to the fire. So I would say overlook this one and pretend that it never happend.
28 Weeks Later...
R
Once in a bluemoon a film comes along that happens to be better than the original, and I have to say that 28 Weeks Later is one of those movies. Juan new what he was doing when he made this film. The plot was all original. It had great effects and some good blood; and somehow managed to bring the tension. 28 Weeks Later has all of the aspects of a great horror film and manages to mix them well. Like any true horror film it has its share of flaws. Acting, there where a few good actors in this film but nothing note worthy. But let me tell you the plot is so well played out that you hardly notice. This movie had gore by the tons, a terrific plot, action, suspense, nail bitting tension, and it had zombies. What more can you ask for right? I would say to CHECK THIS ONE OUT I can guarantee that it is worth your time.
Lakeview Terrace
PG-13
I found Lakeview Terrace to be a very good movie. The plot was a little unoriginal but the movie as a whole a classic all in its own. So the plot centers around Abel a cop who plays by his own rules and Chris and Lisa a just married couple that moved into his neighborhood. From there on things spiral downhill. Ok like I said the plot has been done before but the way the it was exucuted was great. It kept you on the edge of the seat and jaw dropped throughout the whole movie. Also the end was phenominal. Lakeview Terrace was an on the edge of your seat action drama that wont dissapoint, and teaches people when looking for a house check out the neighbors first. I would say check this one out.

1.
Hostel
R
The king of all torture films! One of the best made movies in the past decade. A must see. Horror at its best this one will go down in history!
2.
Hostel: Part II
R
Just as good as the original. Eli Roth at his best a must get for any true horror fan.
3.
The Descent
R
The Decent is a riveting claustrophobic horror film. The effects in this film where top rate. Strong preformances from all of its female cast. Niel Marshall has brillantly created a nightmarish gorefest that doubles as a compelling meditation on morality and what we might do for survival. This movie feeds off of every humans fears, darkness claustophobia, drowning and well being ripped limb by limb by bloodthirsty creatures. The Decent is one of the scariest horror films to date and will test the fears of any one and every one who watches it.
4.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
R
This was made way before its time and thats what makes it so brilliant. Its a timeless horror film because no matter what year it is you can always picture yourself in the position of these kids. In my opinion this made Tobe Hooper a true master of horror for being daring, brave, and smart enough to make it. One of the best horror movies to date.
5.
Resident Evil - Apocalypse
R
even better than the original and the original was awsome!! it is one of the best horror movies ever!!!
6.
Stay Alive
PG-13
This is my ultimate favorite movie. I think that it is awsome and has a great plot outline.

Beverly Hills Cop III
by †HorrorFan†i can watch this over an over because i thought this one was the best one out of all of them but i still think the frist one and the second were really gd but i liked the third one more i cant wait for the forth one i hope its better than all of them well if you have not seen the third one this is what its about that One night in Detroit, during a shoot-out at a chop shop, Detroit cop Axel Foley sees his boss, Inspector Douglas Todd, getting killed by a well dressed man. Using his last breath, Inspector Todd tells Axel to get the man who shot him, and Axel says that he will do that. Axel does some looking around, and finds the killer's vehicle at Wonder World, a theme park in Beverly Hills, California. In Beverly Hills, Axel is reunited with his friend Billy Rosewood, who tells Axel that John Taggart is now retired and living in Arizona. Billy is now the deputy director of operations for joint systems interdepartmental operational command (JSIOC). Billy also has a new partner named Jon Flint. Axel checks out Wonder World, which is owned by Dave "Uncle Dave" Thornton. At Wonder World, Axel rescues two kids who are stuck on a ride that broke down, and after this, Axel is taken to see the park's head of security, Ellis DeWald, and Axel recognizes DeWald as Inspector Todd's killer. Jon refuses to believe this, because DeWald is one of Jon's friends. Ellis runs a counterfeiting ring that uses the theme park as a front. Axel is also falling in love with Janice Perkins, who works at the park. When Dave gets shot by DeWald's men, Axel is accused of being the man who shot Dave. With the help of Billy and Jon, Axel sets out to prove his innocence and get revenge on DeWald.

Feast II: Sloppy Seconds
by ToddWell, how does one review a film involving a scene in which a dead monster ejaculates all over the poor souls performing an autopsy on it,or in which there is a midget catapault, and babies being tossed into the air for monsters to pick off of the pavement?I could say that it is the most outragous film since Dead-Alive,or I could say that it was like reading a 12 year old's take on the Alien franchise(Which IMO turns out better than the Alien franchise itself.)The first film's greatest attribute was this film's greatest flaw-the characters.None of them are likeable with the exceptions of Honey-Pie (Once again played by Jenny Wade-AWESOME!!),and Bartender (Clu Gulager,SWEET!!).The actress playing Harley Mom from pt. 1 returns as Biker Queen in Sloppy Seconds, and deters the film very much so,as do most of her biker friends. My only other complaint of this sequel is that Jenny Wade was very underused, she deserved another half-hour screen-timeIf you like bikers, midget wrestling and catapaults,Jenny Wade, kittens getting raped by monsters, babies getting eaten, monster semen, and Jenny Wade I recommend this."WHO WANTS TO GET FINGERRED!!!!?"
Irritating biker chicks plague this sequel, but other than that,it is very worthy of the FEAST franchise.

Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer
by KellyThe story is about a 3 star (for horror), but the production effects are so great that I HAD to give this four stars.
This is a FUN creature feature with some wicked awesome monsters and an interesting protagonist who is not annoyingly cocky, but instead empathetically emotional. This is a fun get smashed Friday night movie for gore freaks, and it would scare the crap out of a kid or lightweight. I imagine if I saw this before I developed my scare immunities, I wouldn't sleep comfortably for a few days - that's how great the makeup is.
I'm a huge proponent of practical effects, which is probably why I like this movie so much. The first two acts are mostly exposition, and then the concluding twenty-five minutes is all monster fighting. During the fight, Jack does some foolish things like discard his weapons constantly, then when the next monster attacks him, has to struggle to find another makeshift weapon (and this gag is pulled at least three times). I thought compared to earlier outbursts, the actor didn't showcase Jack's rage when it came to fighting the monsters, and it's not just because the monsters dwarf his aggression with their growls. I think the actor was trying to inject some fear into Jack, but it just came off as Jack wasn't in his uncontrollable anger mode.
I'm definitely looking forward to the sequel and hope they don't lapse into using loads of CGI, as the practical makeup/fx was the meat of the movie. I like how bits of the creatures' anatomy mimics the aesthetic of plumbing and pipes, which is Jack's porfession (in particular, their blood looks like dirty pipe sludge).
Also worth mentioning is Robert Englund's performance. He does a great eccentric professor. Once his character is affected by the monster heart, his body language is just astounding as if I was watching a person actually possessed. This goes out to my horror horde (sorry to my serious cinema crowd to pollute your board with this silliness). I predict that CreepFreak will love this movie and soon be sending out another rec for it.
