Watched it back-to-back. One of the best films I've ever seen. Great direction and editing. I was fortunate enough to meet the editor of this masterpiece. See it, love it.
Great Campy samurai gangster film. Mixes humour, drama & violence quite nicely. Ahead of it's time. Suzuki was blacklisted for years after making this one.
Wow. I almost wish I hadn't seen the original, but Scorsese added some extra depth and character plot to the story. The cast did a great job and everyone should be rewarded come oscar time. See this right away.
The true portrayal of addiction. Executed perfectly. Aronofsky told Leto to abstain from sex for his role. He was dating Cameron Diaz at the time...now thats commitment!
One of/if not the first motion picture to expose the dirty side of Hollywood. Very influential and one of the best movies I have seen. I need to see more of Wilder's stuff.
Truffaut' semi-autobiographical story of troubled youth is played out to perfection. The camera captures the Paris locations beautifully. A masterpiece from the french new wave. A must see.
A movie that is truely timeless. I can't believe this was shot in the early 30's. This was my first taste of Hawks and now I see why he's one of the most influencial directors. Some of the best cinematography ever captured. DePalma's remake borrows heavily from this classic.
Some fantastic camera work and sound design really help sell this gem of a film. A masterpiece for the vampire genre that had me saying 'wow, that was incredible' many times while viewing. I strongly recommend this one, *
