House of Wax (2005,  R)
House of Wax
Easily the best Horror film I've seen and my favourite film of all time. Why? Because it simply has everything it needed to be an effective Horror film. The storyline/plot is very creative and the whole 'wax' idea is brilliant. Cast and Characters are also spot on with very likeable characters portrayed by a strong cast (even Paris Hilton isn't too bad). Death scenes are very memorable and gory, plus some very cringe-worthy moments that complete a perfect Horror film that is a must-see!
2
Hairspray (2007,  PG)
Hairspray
One of my all-time favourite movies, and a brilliant musical! The fun and vibrant atmosphere of the film makes it a joy to watch and the music and songs are so catchy and enjoyable. The cast really work well together and newcommer Nikki Blonsky is perfect for the lead role of Tracy Turnbland, and props to John Travolta for playing Edna. Definitley an improvement on the 80's original as well with a much stronger message and better performances from the cast. This is a must-see!
3
Quarantine (2008,  R)
Quarantine
Brilliant! Easily the most realistic Horror film I've watched and this kept you on the edge of your seat right from where the action starts. It's slow to begin with but it wouldn't have been effective if everything started happening straight away. Brilliant acting, storyline, characters and the infected residents are absolutley terrifying! I totally loved it and would reccomend any Horror fan that isn't afraid of a good scare to check it out!
4
Chicago (2002,  PG-13)
Chicago
Brilliant! Easily the best musical I've seen and one of the best movies I've seen as well. The songs are just great and the acting is first class as well. A definite must-see :)
5
Scream (1996,  R)
Scream
The film that put Horror movies back in business! Scream is a true classic in my eyes and a must-see for Horror fans! The storyline, characters and suspense are all perfect :D A great all-star cast as well.
6
Wrong Turn 2: Dead End (2007,  Unrated)
Wrong Turn 2: Dead End
Brilliant! Better than the first thanks to more characters and an interesting storyline, and one of the best and goriest Horror films I've seen! The mutant family are also great!
7
Dreamgirls (2006,  PG-13)
Dreamgirls
Brilliant. From the stand-out solos of Jennifer Hudson & Beyonce to the storyline and music; Dreamgirls is a great musical and one of my favourites movies :)
8
The Descent (2006,  R)
The Descent
Probably the most terrifying Horror film I have ever seen and I just loved it :) Storyline, characters and the scares were all brilliant!
9
Introducing Dorothy Dandridge (1999,  R)
Introducing Dorothy Dandridge
Halle Berry really shines in this film about actress Dorothy Dandridge. Such a great film with some very memorable scenes; I'd reccomend it to anyone.
10
Their Eyes Were Watching God (2005,  Unrated)
Their Eyes Were Watching God
This film really made me notice Halle Berry as an outstanding actor. The film is such a beautiful story of Janie Starks and her journey to discover herself and who she really is. The storyline has so many beautiful and also some sad moments but it's a great journey to go on. Halle Berry is the obvious stand-out and has portrayed Janie very well. The story's message of finding out about love and living is delivered so well and so clearly as well. A must-see and a film I just love :D
11
The Hills Have Eyes (2006,  R)
The Hills Have Eyes
Easily one of the best Horror films I've seen. The storyline and setting are perfect, and the blood and gore simply add to the fun :) I'd highly reccomend this to any Horror fans.
12
Land of the Dead (2005,  R)
Land of the Dead
Nothing beats a good zombie movie and this one tops the list for me. Romero is a mastermind when it comes to this genre so he knows what he's talking about. From the characters to the storyline everything simply 'worked' and it's such an impressive Horror film. Props to Simon Baker who is great as the lead, as is Leguizamo and Hopper of course. I also thought it was great to give some of these zombies identities, personalities and names like 'Big Daddy'; awesome :D
13
Cloverfield (2008,  PG-13)
Cloverfield
There really isn't any other film like it which is why I just loved it :) Stars off fairly slow but once the action kicks in it's hard not to be drawn in. From the Statue Of Liberty loosing her head to the attacks in the tunnels; this film has some very memorable scenes and all filmed with nothing more than a camcorder. You really feel like you're in the moment, shaky camera work and all, and it has such a great, and deceiving, effect on you. Overall Cloverfield is the monster movie not to miss!
14
See No Evil (2006,  R)
See No Evil
Loved it :D Kane is the perfect bad-ass killer simply for his size and very evil facial expressions :P Great cast and characters plus the storylin was very creative and clever. Death scenes were awesome and nothing beats a Horror film with plenty of blood and gore :) Christina Vidal was a stand-out for me acting wise along with Kane of course. Overall Horror fans should be kept entertained and impressed, and it's well worth checking out!
15
Resident Evil (2002,  R)
Resident Evil
Easily one of the best zombie flicks with a great storyline and good characters too. One of my favourite zombie movies :)
16
Turistas (Paradise Lost) (2006,  R)
Turistas (Paradise Lost)
A very suspensful Thriller that will have you holiding your breath, literally, while watching it! I just loved it :) The concept was a great idea and the storyline, characters and actors were all brilliant. While it's slow to get going when the action starts it never stops. The final scenes in which the underwater cameras take charge really stand-out and are painful yet intriguing to watch at the same time. Overall Turistas is a brilliant Thriller that is definitley worth seeing.
17
Blade (1998,  R)
Blade
Loved this film! Loads of action and vampires :) N'Bushe Wright was also a delight to watch :P Great film!
18
Dawn of the Dead (2004,  R)
Dawn of the Dead
Much better than the original that's for sure. Plenty of good zombie action and easily one of the best zombie films to date. A must-see for Horror fans everywhere.
19
Thirteen Ghosts (13 Ghosts) (2001,  R)
Thirteen Ghosts (13 Ghosts)
The general idea, concept and ghosts in this film make it what it is. When you really think about the acting and storyline you start to see some flaws, but how can that maze of a house and the creative ghosts be ignored. It's an enjoyable Horror film with good characters and storyline but it's the concept and general idea of the film that makes it what it is. Overall well worth watching for good Horror fun.
20
Ghost Ship (2002,  R)
Ghost Ship
Totally loved this Horror flick. Whoever came up with the idea is very clever because the storyline is great and there is so many memorable scenes making it well worth checking out.
