Quite a predictable and, perhaps, even a bit long boring story which, because of the fact of being structured in a non-linear manner, turned into a great movie by bringing together images from the early and late days of Ms. Piaf life, which helped on keeping up the attention throughout the whole film.
The makeup and Marion Cotillard's brilliant performance definitely brought it up into the spotlight of the good ones, stressing it over a lot other bio-films. |

For the time it was produced, it looks like a huge hollywood ensemble, with huge scenarios and costumes which still deserve to be watched... however, though the story is nice and catchy, it's not to be considered a masterpiece by far.
