Twister - PG-13 It still looks good enough now; really great for its time.

Fine for a sunday afternoon.

Cool OST.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas) - PG-13 Predictable though yet a surprising ending. Perhaps the fact Bruno tries to set things right was not the right move for the story as well as it just brings it to quite an unbelievable turn, but that's the way it was written... no choice.

Touching, depressive.

Premonition - PG-13 Perhaps a bit too confusing at some points making it a hard to follow, but still entertaining though.

Loved the cinematrographics.

Decent.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - PG Despite the 'experts' comments, I really liked it, perhaps even more than the original version.

In fact I think Tim Burton's hand on the original script made it a favor for good, rather than breaking it up.

Not a classic piece, but fun enough.

Love in the Time of Cholera - R If you already read the book, then you may better not watch this film... but if you watched it without having read the book, please go and grab a copy.

Shame it's not a fair adaptation, really...

Weak.

Gran Torino - R At some points it turns hardly credible and quite predictable but, however, it's still a good script overall, with an unexpected ending that makes it a round movie.

Great OST.

Changeling - R Good one, and fine script, though Jolie's performance is not very credible... April 13, 2009

Volver - R Typical spanish. Typical Almodóvar. Different. March 15, 2009

The Reader - R Touching and unexpected screenplay. A bit slow at some points.

Good one.

Slumdog Millionaire - R Interesting and lots of fun, though fairly predictable... not the common love story, but still a love story anyway.

Brilliantly shot.

The Wrestler - R Another kindo "fall, rise and die as a next-door superhero" epic film... not much else, except for a Mickey Rourke's decent performance. February 8, 2009

Revolutionary Road - R Touching screenplay & amazing photography.

Amazing performance by Kate Winslet.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - PG-13 Quite entertaining though not really a masterpiece... but an art piece when it comes to makeup and cinematrographics.

Great impersonations and performances.

Good one.

Matchstick Men - PG-13 To be honest, what I liked most was the photography, how it was shot, and the way it ends up. It gets stronger as it goes on though the first half of the movie isn't quite good really.

Surprising.

Happy-Go-Lucky - R Silly caricature of that kind of people always annoying others by acting like they are fun and happy... but they're not.

Gets better as it goes on, but never gets really good.

Amelie (Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain) - R An inspirational movie, in all senses. Perhaps the story is a bit too naive, but the execution turns it into a masterpiece in terms of cinematographics, impersonations and performances.

Could be considered Jean-Pierre Jeunet's and Audrey Tautou's best so far.

Man cheng jin dai huang jin jia (Curse of the Golden Flower) - R Cinematographics and photography simply push it up to a masterpiece level but, unfortunately, the story gets confusing and even weird at some points... kindo soap opera.

Still entertaining and worth watching though.

La Vie en Rose (La Mome) - PG-13 Quite a predictable and, perhaps, even a bit long boring story which, because of the fact of being structured in a non-linear manner, turned into a great movie by bringing together images from the early and late days of Ms. Piaf life, which helped on keeping up the attention throughout the whole film.

The makeup and Marion Cotillard's brilliant performance definitely brought it up into the spotlight of the good ones, stressing it over a lot other bio-films.

Guess Who's Coming to Dinner - Unrated An interesting story ahead of its time that unveils the true human condition then, and even now. Good one though not as brilliant as the press told us it was.

It gets touching when you realise it was Spencer Tracy's last performance.

Good.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - G For the time it was produced, it looks like a huge hollywood ensemble, with huge scenarios and costumes which still deserve to be watched... however, though the story is nice and catchy, it's not to be considered a masterpiece by far.

Worth entertaining.
