Movies and music is my way of escaping reality.
i love watching film art, short films, gay themed films, movies set in the 1800s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, surrealistic movies, movies that explores human nature, mafia movies and anything with drugs and zombies. I especially enjoy slow, reflective movies with good dialogues and conversations. I also enjoy horror movies esp psychological thrillers. I hate most action films esp those with no plots and fast cars or movies that exploits the use of women's bodies. so people who like mindless movies like "too fast too furious" can get lost. I'm actually just a photographer and foodie in real life. I love to cook and take pictures. The only things i cannot resist is a good film and good food. |

Land of the Lost
PG-13
lots of hilarious lol parts! will ferrell and danny mcbride is awesome! This is DEFINITELY unsuitable for kids. I love the filming styles.
what a superb cast. plus a fantastic soundtrack (stevie wonder!) and fantastic filming that was very much a reference to the 50s filming styles. The acting was fine to me. The reason they were so wooden was most of them were still young and fresh and it added to the uncomfortable age the greasers were at and to me that helped the film. I love the social divide between the greasers and the socs. the film is very touching as well. awesome.
Save Me

fantastic sensitivity was used in the direction of this film. It is deeply moving and poignant. Depressing to remember this is happening in our society. Rather than moving them closer to God, christians are trying to convert them. However, the film does not aim to hate on ex-gay ministries but instead shows us that they are also humans with reasons. All the actors in the film were fantastic esp Judith light whose character was played with such intensity and believe. This is worth the watch especially for anyone with conflicting desires and religion.
Mannequin
PG
come on! this is so much fun! you know you love 80s romantic chick flicks. no one can resist the charm of Andrew McCarthy right? I loved this. What a classic. Pure gold. Now go sing "nothing's gonna stop us now" by starship. ;)
Drag Me to Hell
PG-13
The filming, the soundtrack and the scares are absolutely fantastic. I really really love the old school horror techniques that they paid tribute to... the graphics, the tilting shots and the way they did the demon/spirit is reminiscence of horror from eras gone by. there were good comedic parts as well as great scares. this is definitely a good watch worth paying for!
Forgetting Sarah Marshall

hilarious stuff. jason segal is a comedic genius! russell brand was so awesome too! haha usually i hate anything like sex humour but this is something else. Proves that good writing can make you like anything. o and i really loved the dracula puppet thing.. if it was real i would so totally watch it! :D

glitter meets rock~ i cant stop saying how much i love this movie.. it has to be one of my most fav movies in the world if not my fav. This incredible study of glamrock shows an absolutely wonderful insight into the world of the 70s and 80s where beauty, makeup and rebellion collides... it also shows the attitude of the kids of that era where everyone wanted to be bisexual. not to mention it also features music from lou reed and placebo!!

I Am Sam

Mysterious Skin
NC-17
this is by far one of the most amazing films ever. its so sad and some parts are uncomfortable but so so pretty.. looking into topics that not many wld want to look into... it stirs up your emotions pretty fast.. and the acting... was as they say, phenomenal.

Brothers of the Head
R
This film left a huge impact on me. its about siamese twins who were "born together, die together". As a twin myself, this topic is very difficult to watch without bawling my eyes out. Its a very dark film.. The long quiet shots of the brothers hanging on to each other and the parts where they quarrel but they cant get away from each other is just amazing. and its absolutely brilliant that its actually a "documentary" about another documentary. not to mention the music was awesome.

Son of Rambow
by IanThis is a really cute film. The two main actors are simply brilliant young talent. They completely make the film. It's heart-warming, dramatic and a good laugh. Really well-made, but the French kid's character is completely unneccessary. Well worth a watch for anyone!

Star Trek
by IanYes, I knew I was still a die-hard Trekkie. This movie has given me faith again! This has got to be one of the best Sci Fi movies ever made! I was completely impressed with it... Every single second is well done! Chekhov shouldn't really have been in it if we're being accurate to the original series, as the insertion of his character upset Shatner back in the day, but other things were hinted at, and this was a parallel universe where circumstances have changed so I'll forgive it!! MORE PLEASE!! Much more!!
This is brilliant... Even if you're not usually a sci fi fan... Watch it!

The Fall
by kristineThis is 'visually' the most stunning movie you will ever see.
All locations in the film are authentic, no CGI backrounds or green-screens were used. Tarsem literally traveled around the world for 4 years filming this and it pays off in one of the most underated emotionally poignant films to date.Hey, you should really see this!
