I recommend you see...May stop you thinking about having children...
The Children
by IanWow... Kids really can be scary... And this movie proves it. Village of the Damned and The Exorcist eat your heart out. Bit more the girls in The Shining. FREAKY!! SO well edited it's untrue. Makes me think twice about working for Disney again. It's ashame it's not explained why all this is happening, but I applaud this film, and thought it was sheer genius.

I recommend you see...The best foreign cinema I've seen in a while, apart for Let The Right One In, which is completely different!
Chi Bi (Red Cliff)
by IanThis is a completely epic war movie... Visually stunning with amazing characters. The battle sequences are second to none, apart from the fact you can get confused as to which side you are watching, or which section of the allies is fighting. That does make it more confusing. The various ways in which each side strikes an attack, from sending their typhoid-inflicted dead, to collecting the oppositions arrows by getting them to shoot at them, were just sheer utter genius. This movie is a sensory tour de force.

I recommend you see...Fiendishly wrong but good!
Teeth
by IanThis movie is just so bloody wrong it's right! Definitely an original concept... Vagina Dentata... It's like having a built-in chastity belt! This movie is funny, spiteful, and genius! But as a guy, you will be reaching for your ging gang goolies... Watch it and giggle.

I recommend you see...Only watch if you have a strong stomach.
The Last House on the Left
by IanJust out of principle I can't give this movie five stars. As I watched it the original came flooding back to me. This movie is not for the faint hearted at all. Anything that you would never want to happen to a young girl, a daughter, happens to Mari. And the revenge for the parents is quite sweet as a viewer. It hits every emotion it's aiming for within you. This is even more disturbing than the original because the acting is better. I'm sure people still walked out the movie theatres though.

I recommend you see...For those of you that love horror check this out!
Tormented
by IanOne of the best Brit horrors I've seen in a while! The cast is hot, the deaths are bloody, and some parts are a bit comical. Like Marmite you'll either love it or hate it! It's Skins meets any teen slasher! If you killed yourself after being bullied at school, wouldn't you reek revenge on your attackers? I would. Enjoyably evil.

I recommend you see...A very clever movie...
Blindness
by IanThis was one of the bleakest movies I have ever seen. It was a really interesting concept though, because as everyone becomes blind they become (non flesh-eating) zombies stumbling about. It shines an interesting light on humanity, dependency, and all kinds of human nature. There are times you want to turn away from the film as it is that bleak & you don't think it can get bleaker. A lot of white screen used, and a lot of extremely dark screen used. Clever in someways. Irritating in others. Worth watching, although maybe not owning!

I recommend you see...Sheer brilliance...
Marley & Me
by IanThis is a really cute movie. I forgot how beautiful Jennifer Aniston really is until watching this. It is a completely heart-felt story, and you go through the trials and tribulations of the couples life as they grow with their troublesome canine who deep down they adore. I even shed a few tears.

Revolutionary Road
by IanThis is an incredibly well-acted movie. The issue is that it is very dull in places, and quite drawn out. It is a complete study of the dissolution of a marriage/relationship in a way. Love & hate really do go hand in hand at times, because they are the strongest emotions. It is very realistic, but if you are having marital problems of your own it's probably not a good idea to watch it!!

I recommend you see...I've seen very mixed reviews for this, but I think it was REALLY well done. Like a grittier, more normal, X Men.
Push
by IanThis is a bit like X Men but without the silly costumes! I actually really enjoyed it! Some say it's flawed, but compared to crap like Jumper this is a brilliant sci fi movie, and quite original. I hope there is a sequel, because I love the darkness in this movie, and the bit of history. Definitely one worth checking out for any sci fi fan.

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra
by IanI was pleasantly surprised by this film. I thought it was going to be far more cheesy than it actually was! Absolutely amazing effects, and constant non-stop action, and good characters. I would have loved an older glassification & making it slightly more gritty and adult, but hey... If you want action then this is your movie. Definitely a film you can lose track of time watching! And the eye candy is always appreciated...

I recommend you see...If you wanna try a recent Brit flick that is good & light-hearted try this!
Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging
by IanThis is a seriously feel good movie, and you completely warm up to loving it. The girl that plays Georgia is endearing, and the guy that plays her love interest is beautiful. Just a really good movie that's suitable for most to watch!

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas)
by kristineThis film is AMAZING. Yes this account of the Holocaust seemed to be played by an all British cast (which isn't quite accurate lol) but it dosen't take away from the hard hitting emotional impact of seeing the events unfold through an innocent child's eyes. Where this film ultimately takes you in the end is emotionally GUT WRENCHING to say the least, but you won't soon forget its impact.

Pineapple Express
by kristineThis movie is what it is: A STONER MOVIE! and a great one at that. The subject of the movie (weed) really sets the tone of how the plotlines are handled (as if the director was just as high as the characters) Its lazy, messy, and quite funny how they basically stumble through the entire movie, but thats what adds to its retarded charm. James Franco was a scene stealer and his character was the 'heart and soul' of this movie. His quirky lovable character really drove the chemistry between him and Rogen's character. For stoners everywhere this organically written hilarious ride is not to be missed.

I recommend you see...A superb, fantastical movie. Tarantino is back on form
Inglourious Basterds
by DanielCompletely different to any other Tarantino flick, yet it's got Tarantino written all over it. It was amazing, to put it simply. I was surprised by how much of this movie was subtitled, and I think it was a brave move. Kill Bill had its subtitled moments but not as much as this. Please do not see this movie if you expect it to be historically accurate in any way, it is still as fantastical as any other of QT's movies. All of the performances were incredible but Christoph Waltz was INCREDIBLE. He managed to change from speaking German, to French, to English, and to Italian at one point seemlessly. There are many surprises and some great images. Action takes more of a backseat but when it's up front it is intense. I want to see it again already

Hellboy II: The Golden Army (Hellboy 2)
by kristineWow.....after seeing the first one I wasn't sure I would like the second, but my boyfriend had it on a couple days ago and it sucked me right in. Prince Nuada (I hope I spelled that right) is by far the coolest character I've seen in awhile, he was quite a scene stealer throughout the entire movie. Visually stunning, with great character development and a much better plot than the first makes this an extremely impressive film.
