| Anvil! The Story of Anvil - Unrated | THIS IS FANTASTIC! its definitely very emotional and touching rather than hilarious. Its so inspiring to me to watch their passion and their determination and love for each other. These guys were your normal average guys but as you watch, you really start feeling attached and you end up really wanting them to succeed. very depressing. michael pitt is amazing. Gus van sant is a genius. the film makes for a good look into the last days of a wonderful mind laced with drugs or what we assume to be drugs. Seems like a good way to go. sometimes the film becomes almost voyeuristic and feels as if we shouldnt be looking in on it. The silence is deafening but very real. Every step is echoed and every creak is loud bringing a definite surreal feel to it. A good mix and match if you will.
What i like about the film is that there's no loud music, no loud life.. just a soft death. |

ok.. so what can i say?
I can understand how teen girls would go gaga over this. I mean I think i can say if i were maybe 5 years younger i would have melted too.. but the story, its just ridiculous. Im a twilight basher i admit it but its true. Its embarrassing to compare it to all the other vampire themed movies. on the other hand, if this flick was just seen as a teen romance movie, it does serve its purpose.. which is to make all girls go googly eyed. but grow up ppl! THERE WILL NEVER BE A GUY LIKE EDWARD. SHEESH! all in all, i'd say.. dont bother! o but i have to add.. the filming wasnt that bad? just truly typical. |

Not as good as Rebel of cos but dealing with the same topic with a cain and abel type thing put into the mix. Very touching. The most important part of the film was the relationship Walt had with his neighbours that contrasted with his relationship with his own family. And the fact that he would sacrifice himself for his friends. Clint eastwood was great as the bitter korean war vet. His way of acting got across the character of Walt as one who was so deeply unrepentent but who cares and just didnt show it.
Quietly moving and sometimes funny and poignant. Good watch.. but the asian boy cant act. |
