I watched this film by pure coincidence one rainy Sunday afternoon and really enjoyed it. I admit though that the whole idea of time travel has always fascinated me and on top of that I have not read the book. EDIT: This story never really let go of me seeing as I never got to watch it right from the start, so at long last I thought to rent it on DVD. I think I might go buy it soon too. It is totally fascinating. Mostly comparable in my opinion to Stargate, though strangely enough I don't find that on the "more like this" list.... yet ;) |

Having never read any of the Chronicles of Narnia I can't say how true the story is to the book but what I can say is that this is one fantastic movie. Meant for children without a doubt but at the same time a very enjoyable watch for adults. I find comparing it to Lord of the Rings (as I have read in other reviews) totally unfair. I personally never understood much that went on in LOTR and gave it up leaving it for others to enjoy. This on the other hand was much easier to understand. The fact that scenes and mythical creatures are similar in the two films is possibly true but aren't the same mythical creatures to be found in other stories and books of this genre, of course they are similar. |
