Cinderella Man
by FabioWonderful!!!
Cinderella Man is in my opinion one of the best boxing movies ever made.
Probably because it's not all about boxing.
The story-line is revealed so artistically that as the film progresses, one actually understands what James Braddock goes through.
The fact that this is a true story makes the film look even better!
The entire cast was great but Russell Crowe and Paul Giamatti are superb.
I've lost a lot of tears on this movie.Hey, you should really see this!

Psycho
by FabioPsycho is brilliant.
Hitchcock gave this film excellent direction, and the acting is superb. Especially Anthony Perkins playing the role of Norman Bates.
The direction is excellent, from the intense facial close-ups to the distant and unusual camera angles.
It's a must see!Hey, you should really see this!

Il Sorpasso (The Easy Life)
by Fabio"Non bevi, non fumi, non sai nemmeno guidare la macchina?ma ti godi la vita tu?"
Vittorio Gassman is perfect in the role of Bruno. Great cast especially the supporting role of J. L. Trintignant. Adorable and very sexy the beautiful teenager daughter of Bruno played by Catherine Spaak. Il Sorpasso depicted in great reality the sweet bitter life of the 60's in Italy.
The perfect road movie, filled with deep characters and great locations between Rome the Tuscan Riviera.
This film is filled with humor and sadness.
Mamma mia quanto è bella Catherine Spaak!Hey, you should really see this!

Uccellacci e uccellini (Hawks and Sparrows)
This is a very good film by Pier Paolo Pasolini.
This movie has three diferent parts, and there are lots of hidden things that have an important message.
We can say that this movie is like a fable.
And it's deliciously acted by Toto and Ninetto Davoli.
Ma quanto è brutto Davoli??Hey, you should really see this!

Surf's Up
by DeanA bright, colourful, well animated film about Penguins who surf! The level of detail in the film is amazing from the lighting, fur and the water look so real. It's enjoyable enough for the kids and the bigger kids to. It has plenty of extras on DVD as well!

Il Divo
by Fabio"Alla visita di leva il medico mi disse che avevo sei mesi di vita. Anni dopo l'ho cercato per dirgli che ero ancora vivo. Era morto lui."
"Il divo" is the greatest Italian movie from so many years.
It's about the "spectacular" life of the 7 times Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti.
He's a controversial character he seems quite as a saint but he can be ruthless.
One of his famous aphorism is: "power tires those who don't have it"
And of course this movie is a view of Italian politics in the 70ies, 80ies and 90ies.
ah and the Servillo's performance is perfect!Hey, you should really see this!

3:10 to Yuma (2007)
by DeanA very good western by todays standards and better than a few I have seen recently. Much more like an old school western like The outlaw Josey Wales. Good performances all round and plenty of action along the way.

Perfect Stranger
by DeanSurprised at some of the reviews I have seen for this? I thought this was a very good thriller with a very good twist, for once that you can't see coming right from the start of the film. Maybe it's a bit slow to start with but has one of the best endings for a thriller I've seen in recent years! Go check it out!!
Hey, you should really see this! One of the best thrillers in ages!

Fire Birds
by DeanAt last!!! I have been trying to remember the name of this film and find it for ages! Known as Wings of the Apache in the UK. This is basically Top Gun with the Apache gunship helicopter...I didn't even realize at the time Nicholas Cage and Tommy Lee Jones were in this! Must have have been a long time ago when I saw it, but it has some great action scenes. Well worth checking out!

Saw IV
by DeanThis is a very good horror film that keeps in the tradition of the other Saw films. For me this is probably the 2nd best of the first four films after the 1st. There is a lot more explanation into why Jigsaw had become what he was. This installment also reveals new plot lines linking the other films. It may be confusing for some, might be worth watching Saw 3 again shortly before watching this. This is due to quite a few flashbacks to the other films, characters and the fact that in the timeline of events most of this film overlaps with the 3rd film. Very gory in places as you expect but a better storyline than the last two films.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
by FabioIf you're expecting Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to be a fourth in the series, you'll be disappointed. The original three were set in the 1930s, looking for buried treasure in a Treasure of the Sierra Madre style. The new film is set in the 1950s, and that changes everything.
The film itself is well written, and well made with only a few exceptions.
some of the animation and action sequences seemed too difficult to believe (even for an Indy film) like the monkey-rope scene.
The only thing that I hate the most is Shia LaBeouf dressed like Marlon Brando in "the wild one"..I can't accept that!Hey, you should really see this!

The Wild One
by FabioBrando plays Johnny, leader of a motorcycle gang calling itself the Black Rebels, which terrorizes Wrightsville, a little American town.
The gang members release their frustrated emotions by racing, overturning a car, and by vicariously participating in a savage fight between Johnny and Chino (Lee Marvin), formerly a part of Johnny's gang but now a rival club...
Violence escalates when the town forms a vigilante committee, and inevitably there is an accidental killing.Johnny is saved from wrongful arrest by Kathie (Mary Murphy), a local girl who, in spite of herself, falls in love with him.
"The Wild One" introduces the motorcycle as the symbol of youth rebellion.
An influential classic.Hey, you should really see this!

Shutter (They Are Around Us)
by DeanThis is a a very good Thai horror film along the lines of The Eye, The Grudge, Ring. This has also been remade this year into a US version. A lot of the scares and imagery is similar to the other films mentioned, but it's a good story and has some jumpy bits. If you like these style of horrors you won't be be disappointed!

Mutiny on the Bounty
by Fabio"Midshipman Edward 'Ned' Young: Fletcher, I'm proud to be with you.
Fletcher Christian: Well you've done rather well, Ned. Promoted to the rank of criminal. Not even 20 and a death sentence on your head."
Many have criticized Brando's portrayal of Christian, and I simply do not understand this.
Did we see the same film?
This is one of his best performance.
But also Trevor Howard is terrific playing the role of the Capt. William Bligh.
The story is beautiful.
After the hardship of a horrendous voyage to the island, the romance and humor of the Tahitian sequence was a welcome relief.
It's a long movie but you'll never have the sensation of being sit on your couch.Hey, you should really see this!

American Gangster
by FabioAmerican Gangster is a perfect gangster film. A rise and fall film based on a true story.
Denzel Washington delivers a marvelous performance of a man calm and patient yet heart-stopping ferocious at some points, fearless and ambitious but likable as always.
When he's not talking, just the way his face is set, he totally gets in this character.
Russel Crowe delivers a good performance,i think there's a great chemistry between them even though few scenes bring them face to face. Richie Roberts is in danger for being one of the few cops that actually do their jobs and refuse to take bribe so i think there's a big resemblance between Richie Roberts and Frank Serpico (played by Al Pacino in 1973).
Ridley Scott's direction is brilliant, just look the short but brutally effective opening scene.
Maybe some pople can say t's too long..about 2 hours 37 minutes, but it never loses interest.Hey, you should really see this!

On the Waterfront
by FabioThe Waterfront Crime Commission is about to hold public hearings on union crime and underworld infiltration. As workers are turned against each other, Terry Malloy inadvertently participates in the murder of fellow longshoreman Joey Doyle. Union boss Johnny Friendly orchestrates the murder along with other illegal dockside activities, aided by Terry's brother Charley. Terry begins to feel pangs of conscience. When Joey's sister Edie sees more in Terry than he sees in himself and Father Barry urges him on, Terry reassesses his past and begins to regain responsibility for his actions.
On The Waterfront has the perfect mixture of love, suspense, and crime.
The acting not just by Brando but the whole cast is great and the ending the final redemption of Terry Malloy iis terrific..Hey, you should really see this!

30 Days of Night
by DeanAt last a great Vampire horror film!! It's been a long time coming. I love the Blade and Underworld films but they definitely fit more into the action genre. This is bloody and gory in places, has plenty of tension and a good story about a town under siege for 30 days. The photography is great and vampires look original. Overall it has something for everyone especially those who love a good horror, vampire film!

Venom
by DeanCaught this on TV last night, surprised I had not heard of it. A decent little slasher film with some emerging young stars in the cast. Not very gory but feels like a good old school slasher. Produced by Kevin Williamson who had a hand in Scream and I know what you did last summer!
Hey, you should really see this!....even has the obligatory cameo from a rap star "Method man" shows up playing a cop! ; )
