I'm new here, but friendly. I'm also very much a film enthusiast, and plan on professional works some day. Some people watch movies for pure entertainment (which is fine), however I tend to look at them from a different point of view...
Also check out my top lists I've been working on. == == == I have myspace and msn, just ask and I'll add ya. A little bit about me: ------------------------- I was born and raised in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. I live a decent life that just seems to get better by the day :) My favorite movie at 3 years old was in fact Hellraiser. Thanks to my grandma :) however my mind never became corrupted like some would think. What it did was open my eyes to that layer of creativity. Watching mature movies at a young age (not just talking about 3 years old here! lol) has actually helped play a role in developing my strongest characteristic which is wisdom... To be continued... lol |

The Dark Knight
by AmandaBatman has always been my favourite superhero ever since the first time I heard about him because he his human with no powers, also he is much more questionable than any other superhero. The story of the film is about Batman, Lieutenant James Gordon, and new district attorney Harvey Dent beginning to succeed in rounding up the criminals that plague Gotham City. They are unexpectedly challenged when a mysterious criminal mastermind known as the Joker appears in Gotham. Batman's struggle against the Joker becomes deeply personal, forcing him to "confront everything he believes" and to improve his technology (which introduces the recreation of the Batcycle, known as the Batpod and the Batsuit was redesigned) to stop the madman's campaign of destruction. During the course of the film, a love triangle develops between Bruce Wayne, Dent and Rachel Dawes.
There are now six Batman films and I must say that The Dark Knight is the best out of all of them. The title is good because that is what Batman actually is. It has been 3 years for the adventure to continue from Batman Begins but that entire wait was worth it. Gotham city is very Gothic looking and is very haunting and visionary. The whole movie is charged with pulse-pounding suspense, ingenious special effects and riveting performances from a first-rate cast especially from Heath Ledger who gave an Oscar nomination performance for best supporting-actor. It is a shame that he can't see his terrific work on-screen, he Joker was the best beaten up Cesar Romero and Jack Nicholson ones, pit that Heath Ledger dies too soon. The cinematography is excellent which is made so dark & sinister that really did suit the mood for the film. Usually sequels don't turn out to be better than the original but The Dark Knight is one of those rare sequels that surpasses the original like The Godfather 2. I also really liked the poster where the building is on fire in a Bat symbol & Batman is standing in front of it. Christopher Nolan is a brilliant director and his film Memento is one of my most favourite films. He hasn't made 10 movies yet and 3 of them are already on the IMDb top 250. Overall The Dark Knight is the kind of movie that will make the audience cheer in the end instead of throwing fruit & vegetables on the screen.Hey, you should really see this!

1900 (Novecento)
by JacBertolucci's "1900", a 5-hour epic is definetely one of the most ambitious cinematic untertakings I have yet had oppurtunity to experience and results, although mixed, brings a unique character study, a story of a friendship torn between Right and Left.
A lot can be said about events, or rather character development here, but the important thing is to acknowledge that the first part could've be easily cut down to from 2.5 hours to 1.5 since it's clearly over-long, having not enough substance to sustain the interest. Yet the second part brings true drama to the table, fully compensating this careful introduction into the relationship of the two main characters.
Technically, it is wonderful. Storaro with his rich, colorful cinematography is at his best here, direction, rythm is flawless and acting is also captivating, even though italian dubbing can be annoying sometimes. Donald Sutherland goes over himself here and therefore joins my private list of The Most Ruthless Villians in Cinema History as a terrible, vicious, Fascist Attila.
This is cinema they simply don't make anymore and "1900", despite having some troubles with the selection of the material, still is a powerful filmmaking neverthless, the one one won't easily forget.
A must-see for everyone fascinated with Italian cinema. While many of you have been praising "The Dark Knight", which I'm sure will live up to its hype, I decided to catch your attention with this underrated epic, something from sort of a different dimension, yet also deserving your time.

Redneck Zombies
by RayThis movie is a one of a kind laugh-fest that has the gore for the horror aficionados. The smallest of small things make me laugh. From the zombies burping after a heavy meal to the witty one liners that, although sometimes asinine, can still create a chuckle from the lax viewer. Ferd Mertz (Bucky Santini) is by far the winner here when it comes to the laughs. A great way to spend a good night and to introduce people to the bizarre and obscure. Totally cheesy but all in good fun! There are really no blatant cliché moments in this one that leave you scratching your head and wondering if your intelligence has been insulted. Redneck Zombies is not suppose to be taken seriously. Anyone who does is obviously watching this movie for all the wrong reasons. Highly recommended if you can find a place that carries it. If not there is always Amazon.
Hey, you should really see this! Its F-in great. Read my review and keep a look out for Ferd Mertz (Bucky Santini). He absolutely owns this movie.
