The Dark Knight (2008,  PG-13)
The Dark Knight
Oh man. Where would I even possibly begin to describe how much I loved this film. The action scenes were amazing, the performances from every single individual was impeccable (seriously Michael Caine is the man, come on and is Morgan Freeman in every single movie out there). Aaron Eckhart was surprisingly badass and likeable. Christian Bale is, in my opinion,is one of the best (if not the best, well, next to Johnny) actors out there. But Ledger, OMG, Ledger. Everyone's concern about him taking over the joker role from Jack Nicholson was put to rest. He definitely surpassed Nicholson. Hilarious and yet completely terrifying. Menacing, cunning, unpredictable and just an evil genius. His performance is so delectable that you don't want the film to end at all. You are happy that it lasts so long just so you can get as much dosage of the Joker as you possibly can. And then you are left with the feeling that this is truly the last you will see of him.

Dr. Strangelove Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
Hilarious and forever relevant. They simply don't make films like this anymore. Amazing performance from Peter Sellers.

No Country for Old Men (2007,  R)
No Country for Old Men
As a movie fan I have clearly seen many films. But no amount of Michaels, Jasons, Freddies, Jigsaws or Aliens have left shaking as Javier Bardem's character, Anton Chigurh. Easily comporable in powerhouse acting and as fear inducing as Anthony Hopkin's Hannibal. Amazing film in which you never know what's going to happen. Amazing performances from Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin. Javier Bardem once told Al Pacino "I don't believe in God, I believe in Al Pacino". Well, I may believe in God, and I certainly believe in Javier Bardem.
7
The Godfather, Part II (1974,  R)
The Godfather, Part II
Pacino's amazing as quiet and calculating Michael Corleone.
8

The Usual Suspects
It's the epitome of surprising ending.

Once (2007,  R)
Once
Not your typical mainstream musical. The main characters use music to express their deepest emotions, and we're feeling them right along with them. He has the saddest face which is beautifully complemented by the hopeful look on her face. Insanely charming movie. Better than any romantic comedy film seen in the last 5 years due to the fact that you won't find any romantic comedy cliches. Almost perfect.

Probably the most unique and original movie of its time.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009,  PG)
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
It was a great adaptation of the book. Dark and menacing. Clearly the beginning of the end.
