| Up in the Air - R | A relevant film that speaks about our times. Beautiful, engrossing and at times even brutal. This may easily be George Clooney's best performance however his chemistry with Vera Farmiga and his dynamic scenes with Anna Kendrick really propel this film. BTW, Kendrick is a true revelation and the heart of this film. Would not be surprised if all get nominated. What Jason Reitman has created is a film that is very close to perfection. Either this will be his masterpiece or whatever else he creates will be astonishing. | December 14, 2009 | N/A | |||

| Fantastic Mr. Fox - PG | Of course for any Wes Anderson fan is whether this film will feel like a Wes Anderson film. However, this film feels more like a Wes Anderson film than any other Wes Anderson. If you haven't seen this film yet than you don't know what the cuss I'm talking about. See it. It is hilarious, original, and it has amazing vocal performances. | December 14, 2009 | N/A | |||
| [Rec] - R |
Yes, this is from the same school of film technique such as Blair Witch, Paranormal Activity and Cloverfield. However, I would compare it more to the latter since the action all takes place within the same night. And probably out of all aforementioned films, this may likely be the winner. Throughout the film I thought that the action was well paced. Hell, at times, it felt like a ride. But those last 15 minutes of the film is what set it apart from even most "zombie" movies and dammit was it creepy. Haven't seen Quarantine so I can't compare. |

| G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra - PG-13 | The US president is British. Enough said. Other than the Paris scene, it is not worth watching even if Joseph Gordon Levitt is in it. | November 8, 2009 | N/A | |||
| The Fourth Kind - PG-13 | If the "real footage" we watched was real than it was a decent film. If the "real footage" we watched was fake then it was brilliant. Now I'm almost sure the "real footage" was fake but see the fact that I write almost instead of completely is why it's brilliant. Is this a really well done film, no by no means. But it did what Blair Witch and Paranormal did not do which was have "real footage" and it's dramatization beside it so it could truly fool a lot of people into thinking that any of this actually happened. Which I doubt it did and hell, considering what I saw, HOPE that it didn't. Despite Paranormal still being FAR superior to this film, this one really has some creepy scary moments that will stay with as you. As you keep debating whether any of this is real. See, I still can't make my mind up. Dammit. | November 8, 2009 | N/A | |||
| District 9 - R | Brilliant, powerful, unique, unexpected and many other buzzwords used for great films such as this. Easily one of the best of the year and even the decade. Easy Oscar contender and in my opinion Up's first true competition. | November 8, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Inglourious Basterds - R | This is Quarantino at his most outrageous, fun and crazy side. And that's saying a lot. I dare you to see this film and not have fun. The film ends with a tongue in cheek comment about an event being their masterpiece. Well, this may very well Tarantino's. Wonderfull performances by Pitt and someone who will soon be big in Hollywood: Waltz as Colonel Landa who's performance has inducted him in the infamous list of the greatest villains along with Vader, Lecter, Chigurh, The Joker, etc. | November 8, 2009 | N/A | |||
| (500) Days of Summer - PG-13 | Hate Romantic Comedy cliches, you pretty much won't find them here. No the girl won't be falling for big theatrical showings of love. No the boy won't change who he is because girl won't love him. No, things won't get solved in clean and neatly. It shows all the sides of love especially the messy, disgusting and excruciatingly painful one. You know the one where you walk outside with your bathrobe just to go to the nearest bodega and buy lots of munchies. Not that I have ever done so, but it shows that one. This is a film that anyone can fall in love with even if our characters won't. | November 8, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Zombieland - R | If you liked films like Shaun of the Dead and Severance, then you will love this. Loved this film since the first 5 minutes of the film. Why? Because right away you could tell that it would be different than most comedies or horror films out there. Expect an amazing cameo from one of the best actors out there which will have you laughing out loud and the climax was really well done. Great film and a lot of fun. | November 8, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Where the Wild Things Are - PG | November 8, 2009 | N/A | ||||
| Paranormal Activity - R | Is it the scariest film of all time like it has been claimed? No! Is it creepy? It sure as hell is. See, the thing about this film is that it is unlike most American horror films in which things come at you quickly. Instead things happen slowly and creepily, more in the vein of Japanese horror films. Also, this is the film that Blair Witch Project wanted to be. Why? Because things actually HAPPEN and these actors are really good. Tell me that you have not met someone exactly like Micah. Hell, I'm probably someone like Micah. Now despite this film not being as scary as many proclaim, still the after effects of trying to go to sleep after seeing this are FANTASTIC. And by fantastic I mean terrible. | November 8, 2009 | N/A | |||
| Maldeamores (Lovesickness) (Maladies of Love) - R | The most realistic depiction of Puerto Rico and its inhabitants. Everything about it is real down to the way we speak and how we treat each other. Absolutely beautiful film and by far the best Puerto Rican film ever done. Powerful performances, great story, and amazing cinematography. | September 23, 2009 | N/A | |||
