To begin with... I am married to a very wonderful man! He is "my voice of reason", my best friend and soul mate. We just celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary last June. After all these years he still opens the car door for me every time and he makes the best French toast! I believe in being faithful to my husband not because i have to but because i want to. I am the mother of the (all)most perfect teenager in the world. When she goes to college I'm going to have a severe case of empty nest syndrome. She is part of what keeps me anchored. I turned 41 last December but it wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be so i didn't cry. I come from a large loving family. We are of Scottish,Cherokee and French ancestry. I am the youngest of 14 children all from the same mother and father. (God rest them) I love getting together with my brothers and sisters laughing so hard we cry or lose our breath. I love hearing the old family stories and exploits from our youth. I like old westerns and horses, hummingbirds, butterflies and flowers. My favorite time of year is October through December. I like gardening, reading books and cross stitch. I love New Mexico sunsets, her deserts and clear night sky's filled with zillions of twinkling stars. Clouds with silver linings and rainy days, (Especially when i can spend them with my husband) his first kiss in the morning, sharing his coffee, the smell of his cologne on his skin and the scent of boot polish on his boots. When i was a little girl my goal in life was to be Wonder Woman, look exactly like Linda Carter and marry Aqua Man. Later i dumped him for the Bionic Man and then Magnum P.I. :)What i actually achieved was incredibly so much better! I love lace handkerchiefs inside valentine cards, the first signs of spring, watching sprouts come up in my garden rows, dogwood blossoms, baby chicks and bunny's, rose bouquets, June bugs and fireflies, 4th of July fireworks, hiking down into my "Fern Gully" with it's little ferns and moss covered rocks, swimming in a cool lake in the summer, sitting beside a campfire at night cuddled up to my honey, sharing roasted marshmallows with him and kiddo, listening to night sounds, the smell of juniper and cedar smoke, carving pumpkins, bobbing for apples, making popcorn balls and decorating for autumn. Frosty mornings, soft falling snow, a crackling fire in the hearth, hot chocolate, making snow men, cutting out paper snowflakes, sleigh rides, Christmas carols and making decorations for the Christmas tree. I love my family gathered around the supper table, cooking for the holidays and watching my husband decorate the tree. I'm an "old fashioned Christmas" kind of girl and I call it Christmas not X-mas. A little "hard candy Christmas" never hurt anyone. I believe in God and loyalty to my family, country and friends. I'm proud to be an American! She is still the greatest country in the world, not because of her riches but, because of the principles she was founded on. God Bless America! |
