Another great Ed Norton movie and a Spike Lee joint.
Monty has one last night to enjoy before he is sent off to prison for seven years. He decides to spend it by visiting with his dad and hanging out with his two best friends and girlfriend. He also had to meet with his boss that thinks he ratted him out to the cops when he was pulled in.
Monty doesn't know who tipped off the cops about the location of the drugs in his apartment, but hopes to find out who his true friends are.
The fuck you scene was classic Spike Lee and I knew this by the way I cringed as the scene continued. I loved it and Ed pulled it off wonderfully. Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the sad faced teacher that is dragged along for the night, was also acted well.
This is a definite must see if you are an Ed Norton fan!
The World According to Garp

I first saw this a long time ago, back when I wasn't sure what she was doing to him in the car.
Sad film. Why did the girl next door despise him so much?
Both Robin Williams and Glenn Close showed their great acting skills.
Funny that this is the first movie I saw John Lithgow in and it is now how I always remember him.
Definitely worth seeing if you never have!
The Very Thought of You (Martha, Meet Frank, Daniel and Laurence)
R
It was a cute movie. Kinda dragged on though. Joseph Fiennes is easy on the eyes so I didn't suffer too much. I'm sure guys would say the same for Monica Potter.
I can't imagine buying a ticket to London and meeting complete strangers that turn out to be best friends. Must only happen in movies.
Too bad it didn't show more of London, might have added something to the movie.
I guess I can see why this one went straight to dvd.
John Tucker Must Die
PG-13
I think the worst part about this movie is that I didn't hate it. I did laugh at a few scenes and the story kept me watching for the whole hour. I had no idea who any of the actors were except for Jesse Metcalfe and Ashanti so I'm not sure if that helped or not.
It was kinda funny listening to Tucker tell the three girls the same lines and watching them fall for it. There was always a guy like that in every high school. When they decide to get him back by having the invisible girl make him fall in love with her, sounded like a good idea but you just knew she would fall for the same lines.
I definitely wouldn't recommend this movie but if you find yourself flipping thru channels and you see it, maybe you won't hate it either.
P.S. I Love You
PG-13
I really enjoyed watching this. It made me tear up and I had to quickly wipe the tears away and blame it on the altitude.
The idea of someone you love writing to you from the grave is eerily beautiful. I've always told people that if I can get them a message from the other side I will, but it will be like this more than like a horror film.
The Ireland scenery was beautiful. I'm glad she took her mom back there.
I'm lucky I saw this on a flight by myself otherwise I don't think anyone would have gone with me since it definitely is a chick flick. But not all chick flicks are bad right? Not sure? Then go see this movie! Shhh I won't tell.

Wow! Loved this movie. My friend I watched this with said it best "it's one of those movies where you don't want it to end". I totally agree, I hated the ending because it was the ending. The way the movie started, I knew I would like it in the first 5 minutes. Robert Downey Jr at his best! Keanu, Winona, and Woody all were great. So much better with animation, so much more real. I think this is the most I've written in a review so that means go see this movie!

Does that make me disturbing that I enjoyed this movie? A lot? Christian Bale was so charming and menacing it was scary, and that was great! Waited a long time to see this.....what others are like this I wonder? Anyone?

Speed Racer (2008)
by KentOh man this movie was a blast to me. As a kid who grew up watching the show everything was there. Everything from the action, to the drama. They even remembered that Pops was a professional wrestler.
This was a fan film with a 100 million dollar budget. It got everything just right for the fans. The style is perfection and brings you right back to an animated feel. A lot of people say it would have been better as CGI but then it wouldn't have been as original.
This is by far the most original film I've seen on the big screen in a decade. Nothing comes close to being as fun or smart.
People are saying the cars are in the air too much. They're always flipping around doing crazy stunts. These are people that never saw the show... never saw the episode "The Most Dangerous Race" (which was 3 parts).
The only thing that really annoyed me about the movie that it was too heavy handed in the plot department. It had about 10 minutes of too much dialog.
Now if you're saying this movie had a serious tone at times and that it didn't fit, then you don't know what you're talking about. The family drama was perfect. It existed in the original cartoon and it couldn't be any better here.
OH and Spritle and Chim Chim steal the show for me. Best "giving the bird" moment since Top Gun.If you've never seen the cartoon, chances are you're not going to like this film... if you think anime is for dorks or nerds, you're not going to like this film... if you think it's for kids only, you're not going to like it.
But if you are a fan of the show, then you'll know this movie is the best adaptation of a cartoon to the big screen ever made.posted 3 hours ago -

Saving Sarah Cain
by BrianYes, it's crappy TV-movie acting, but what do you expect from Lifetime?
It's cute and worth seeing if you're into it.
Side question: Does anyone know if the burping after meals to show they liked it thing is real?Only if you're into it.

Camp Out
by BrianI wanted to see this documentary because its subject are so different from. Ten campers trying to reconcile their Christian faith and their homosexuality.
I never had that problem because religion isn't a big part of my life at all, but it was interesting to see, and would be good viewing for gay teens dealing with the same issues.Maybe for you, maybe not for you but a fairly well done documentary. You may know people that you could tell them about this.

James Dean
by LisaReally excellent biopic about the legend that is James Dean. For films like this is is seriously hard to choose the right actors to portray them. James Franco however made an excellent James Dean. The two do look very similar so that helped a lot. Some parts of the film were made up which I really didn't see the point of. Like Dean's father telling him his mother wasn't sure he was his father. Why? All the performances in the film are fantastic. I even read that the beach house is the one that was used in Beaches. I also heard that James Franco became so immersed in playing James Dean that he went from being a non smoker to smoking two packs a day, as well as playing the guitar, the bongos, and learned to ride a motorcycle. That's dedication. A must see film for all James Dean fans.
Seen this ages ago but no one has seen it so I thought I would recommend it. James Franco is surprisingly good as James Dean.

I have seen it Lissa. It's classic Robin Williams at his best in this dramatic piece from 1982.
