The Twilight Saga: New Moon
PG-13
In the end though, films like this are essentially review proof. That is, weather its panned or celebrated by critics (or anyone for that matter), the film is designed to be the massive pop-cultural phenomenon that it was always going to be no matter what anyone says. This is pure popcorn cinema for girls, and with an already well-established blood-thirsty fanbase of them ready to see this in droves, the ramblings of cinematic cynics and their mostly meaningless point of view will never be a match for that
2012
PG-13
Emmerich may well rest on his laurels with this one, and in some small way it will be sad to see him leave behind pretty much the only thing he has ever been really good at as a filmmaker. As such, depending on your predisposition to his movies, 2012 will either be right up your alley or a complete... err, disaster. Its not particularly smart by any means, but its definatly up there with the best of the genre in terms of sheer scale if nothing else and wins hands down as popcorn movie fun.

No movie has so effortlessly combined humour, real sci-fi, romance and suspence into one film. Awesome acting and dialogue and a mindbending story raise this to hights of brilliance.

Stand out film of 2006 so far. Incredible imagery, moving, contriversal story and and great cast make this a top candidate for film of the year. Imperetive viewing.
