Nobody can deny it that this film is one of the best religious movies the cinemas have ever seen. It's not just special effects and make-up, but the most important thing is that it is showing what Christ had to suffer for our salvation. It has changed hundreds of people, some of which went home to find out more about this magnificant story.
The person who had to play the role of Jesus, had to prepare himself both physically and spiritually. Jim Caviezel admitted: ' I don't think I could have done this film without the faith that I have.' One can never stop listing the things Jim had to go through during the filming: struck by lightning, separated his shoulder, dehydrated and then hypothermia, hit accidentaly during the scourging scene.... 'I knew what I was in for when I took this film, but I had no idea it would go in the direction it did. The only thing that scared me where the three languages, as I barely knew Latin, but knew nothing about Aramaic and old Hebrew was foreign to learn.'
The key to the film wasn't to see Jim in the movie but to see Christ. It is true that it has a lot of gory scenes in it, but at those times these things really happened. Mel Gibson was successful in spreading the message of faith, hope, love and forgivness with this film, and may it continue to change people and allow Jesus in their hearts like many have done.
Frodo continues his way towards Mount Doom to destroy the ring, with the help of Sam, but things happen along the way. I truly loved the wars scene, so much action, hope and reality in it. It made the film much better than the first one. The scenery made the movie more realistic. Viggo Mortensen is my fave actor in it, playing the part of Aragorn really well.
Poor Jack Sparrow has got himself in another terrifying threat, worse than the curse of the Black Pearl!! Great visual effects and the storyline is really good!! I can't wait to watch the other one, to see what has happned with Jack! Great film one should never miss!
I had the chance to see it at last! It cannot be any better! I mean, Jim was the just the best. A large part of this movie was filmed in Malta in Kemmuna, the island where the prison was, Imdina and the Great Harbour. That is very satisfying!
No wounder this movie won 11 Academy Awards because it is one of the perfect movies the cinemas have ever seen. Prince Judah Ben-Hur ends up as a galley slave, sent off by his 'friend' Messala. This was his way to take his vengeance after Ben-Hur refused to divulge the names of Jews who opposed Roman rule. But Judas survives the galleys and returns back to Jerusalem in order to search for his mother and sister, who were also imprisoned. My favourite scenes are the live battle scene, when Jesus gives Ben-hur water and the chariot race.
John Sullivan (Jim Caviezel), lost his father, who was a great firefighter, in the Bruxton fire. 30 years later, John discovers his father's ham radio and starts talking through it. He started talking to a man he didn't know, which later turned out to be his father. At first they couldn't believe it, but later accepted this as their only way to talk with each other, and make up for those lost years. By alerting his father about the things that happened 30 years before, he managed to change the past, with different and dangerous consequencies turning up. It's a splendid film, one that left me hooked up, specially with Jim's great talent!
A brillinat performance of Johnny Depp in this action/suspense thriller made me want to see it again and again. After his separation from his wife Amy, Mort Rainey is unexpectedly confronted by a strange guy John Shooter who claims that Mort stole his story and therefore demands justice. But Mort, as far as he knew, did not copy any story and to prove that his story was written first, he was ready to show John Shooter the 'Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine' where he had his story published. But Shooter's demands turn to threats and even murder. There is a very unexpected twist in the end, which I definately liked. It's the proper ending for a mystery/thriller movie. There is also that little bit of humorous act from Johnny Depp; such as the scene with Ms. Garvey. Definately a must-see movie.
A great movie!! Jim played his part perfectly! He couldn't have done it any better! The film is quite confusing until you get the hang of it! The plot of the film is great, it keeps you hooked up till the end, trying to figure out who is the bad guy and the good ones! But I didn't want McCain to die, poor guy!
This is such a sweet movie!! It's difficult not to feel sorry for little David, who had to go through much difficulties until he fullfilled his wish. And I would also like to mention Jim's role in this film. He was a great man, ready to die for his little friend! It actually made me cry!
With one of the best directors, Gore Verbrinski, Pirates of the Caribbean was one of the best movies of 2003. The storyline is simple and easy to understand, filled with adventure, witty remarks from Jack Sparrow and plenty of skeletons for you to dream of. Jack Sparrow is the cherry on the cake, without him the movie definately would not have gained this much popularity. And I believe that other than Johnny Depp, nobody would have been able to play this leading role. The scenery: ships, old-time towns and those ghost-like atmospheres are just brilliant and the score of the movie by Klaus Badelt is perfect. The swashbuckling scenes are awesome too! Anyway, it's a movie worth wasting a few hours of your life for.
Larry found a new job as a security guard in the Museum of National History. But unlike any museum, the exhibits on display come to life. It's really funny how Larry dealt with this unusual situation. The film is really funny and keeps you hooked up till the end!
Tom And Kate Baker have 12 children, but they managed to keep up with them. Their usual day is full of chaos and funny moments that actually make you laugh. But when Tom is offered the job of coaching a squad, they had to move in another house. Kate had to go away to New York to promote her new book and Tom had to take care of his children alone, do the housework and go to work. Quite funny but it also brings out the demanding job of the parents and how important the kids are.
The silver surfer is my fave!! There's a lot of action in it and stuff like that. I really luv this. Better than the first, cause now you know the characters well.
I love this!!!! The giant is soo soo cute xD And when in the end you think he was killed...i mean you realy feel sad at that part!! But things all change up in the end!
One of the best war films I've ever seen. Paris takes Helen to Troy with him, abondening her husband Spartan, brother of Agamemnon. Due to this motive, a war breaks up, in which Spartan fights as a revenge for what Paris did to him and his brother fights for his greed. Achilles is known for his best fighting, and although he fights against the Trojans, he falls in love with the cousin of Paris and Hector. The ending was quite disappointing, I didn't want the story to end that way.
Madison is a great family movie based on a true story. It brings out Madison's love for hydroplane racing. Of course, Jim, who stars as Jim McCormick, was absolutely great!!
Catch, played by Jim Caviezel, is just recovering from the dead of his wife and little boy, after an accident they had a year before. Sharon (Jennifer Lopez), who is a cop, had saved his life. After Catch had saved Sharon's life, the story does not stop there, but reveals a story full of love and emotion. I truly recommend this movie!
Claire's husband Tom is accused of killing 9 people during his military service 13 years earlier. Judd hires another attorney, ending up with threats and losing something she wanted so much. The ending turned out quiet different from what I though! A great thriller that is great to watch!
Eugene Simonet gave his students an assignment, telling them to put it into effect. One of the boys invented the 'pay it forward' for his assignment, which basically was to pay back favors in advance. The ending is really sad, but from this invention, many people benefitted from it. One can learn a lot from this movie. Helping others is no waste of time.
While traveling with his father, Alec becomes fascinated by an Arabian stallion brought on board on the ship he is sailing on. The ship sinks, and the boy and the horse survive, only to find themselves stranded on an island. When they are rescued both return to his home where they meet Henry, a once successful trainer. Together they begin training The Black to race against the fastest horses in the world. It's a great film and all horse lovers would like it!
It's good to know that Jack was rescued! The film was awesome, but it had some scenes that were difficult to grasp. The fighting bit was so great and it still had that little bit of humour in it. I didn't like the ending though, it still seemed so sad to me what happens to William.
A very realistic and emotional movie that leaves you pensive and thinking more about life itself. It isn't just about the dangers of war, but more about the fears that the soldiers experience. There are a lot of characters in this movie one gets attached to. Jim Caviezel made an excellent performance and it's quite sad when he dies tragically in the end. It was Witt's role that made Mel Gibson choose Jim for 'The Passion'.
William Wallace, a great man with a lot of determination, becomes the leader of a courageous army determined to vanquish the greater English forces. This all happens after his wife, whome he had married secretly, was killed. This film is one of the best war fights, with a lot of details many might not have noticed. It is quite gross, something one can expect!!
A sweet drama, that is both funny and romantic. After her sister's death, Kate accepts Zoe (her sister's daughter) to live with her. She needs to deal both with Zoe, and the new high-spirited chef Nick, who joined her staff. This movie is perfect for those who love food!
Robin Williams plays the role of a 'cutter'. Alan (Robin W.) uses a 'Zoe' chip , which is implanted in the brain and records a person's entire life. He is opposed by Fletcher (James Caviezel), which too was a 'cutter' before. Considering I'm a Jim fan, I should say that I wanted him to turn up more during the movie!! The film, though a bit weird, is a great Sci-fi movie.
A magnificant story which takes us to those times when Lord Sauron's ring was given to a hobbit named Frodo by his cousin Bilbo. But Lord Sauron wants his ring back to destroy the middle earth. Frodo, along with three other hoppits which join him, leave the Shrine, and recruit the fellowship of an elf, wizard and a dwarf. He needs to destroy the ring by taking it where it was made, into the volcanic fires of Crack of Doom. The movie has a great storyline, with a lot of action and fights. Special effects are one of the best I've ever seen.
A brilliant action and adventurous movie, were we find out that King Louis has a twin brother, locked up in prison with an iron mask. Aramis, Porthos and Athos try very hard to substitute King Louis with his brother. The film has a great story with a bit of humour added to it!
The best from the three. In this last movie, we find out if Frodo was able to destroy the ring or not. The closer Frodo and Sam get to their destination, the more difficult it becomes for them, and Sam was his only hope. The war fights are brilliant, with a lot of details as if they are actually real. We can also see the determination of Aragorn and becomes what he was born to be.
A 17 year old hyper girl named Daphne always wished to meet with her father. She got fed up of waiting for him to come, so she went to London to search for him there, resulting in a meeting with a cute guy. She achieved what she wanted but her father is not sure what his decision should be. A lovely comedy with a lot of reality in it!
Andy Sachs is the new assistant to the editor Miranda Priestly, a very demanding and impossible-to -live -with editor of a fashion magazine. It's a job that 'a million girls would die for' but for Andy, it turns out to be too much for her to cope with. Andy managed to turn her back to the people who loved her, her boyfriend and her friends, for her work - clothes, shoes, belts....Anne Hathaway did a fabulous part as Andy in this movie. I can't think of another person who would have done it.
In this movie, Greg's parents, Bernie and Roz Focker meet with Pam's parents. They do not go well with each other, what with the Fockers turning out to be both hyper people while the Byrneses were serious. Greg's parents managed to reveal a lot about their son in front of the Byrneses that made Greg emberassed since he didn't mention it to them. I love this movie better than the first, with Ben Stiller being one of the best actors there.
Viola disguises herself as her twin brother Sebastian to join the high school boy's soccer team while her bro went to London. Difficulties cropped up, what with having to do everything a guy did, changing her voice...But soccer was her true love. Olivia falls in love with Sebastian who is really Viola, to make things worse! I love this movie! Amanda Bynes still looked sweet as a guy too!!
A casino tycoon gives six contestants a chace to win two million dollars in a race from Las Vegas to New Mexico. The race turns out to be hilarious, all of them trying to outrun each other in order to arrive first. The movie is a great comedy and 'you will laugh 'til you cry' (Sandie Newton, CBS-TV).
Roald Dahl's story comes to life again in this incredible Tom Burton movie. Charlie finds the golden ticket in a Wonka chocolate along with four other kids and this would givw them the opportunity to win a guided tour in the most magnificent chocolate factory. Charlie joins the rest of the kids along with his grandpa in this amazing factory, where a lot of unexpected surprises occur. John August's screenplay is incredible. And of course, Johnny Depp's amazing talent shows a lot in this movie.
Jack The Ripper is terrorizing the streets of London and a group of women fall for his madness. Marry Kelly forms part of this group, and are terrorized when their friend is kidnapped and one of them is found murdered. These murders gain Inspector Fred Abberline's attention, played so well by Johnny Depp, who's work is aided by his psychic abilities. As he gets closer to the truth, things get out of hand and he along with Mary's group, become more and more in danger. The ending is so sad, and so unexpected. Robbie Coltrane and Johnny did a great performance in this horror movie, filled with many gory scenes.
The famous play-writer James M. Barrie, starring Johnny Depp, finds out that his career is at stake, after he failed to create a well-written play. Longing for inspiration, he meets with a widowed mother Sylvia and her four boys in the park. He spent the following months playing with the boys, and their imaginative and adventurous games inspire him to write another play- Peter Pan. As his friendship deepens with Sylvia, his relationship with his wife becomes gradually weaker. Sylvia's health worsens and Barrie tries his utmost to take her to Neverland. As one of the year's best motion picture, this movie deserves all the praise it got, because it is realistic, but at the same time filled with imagination and fantasy. It had to be a very dedicated actor to play the part of James Barrie, and Johnny Depp was the best choice.
NASA astronauts Spencer Armacost and Alex Streck lose contact with Earth for 2 minutes while they both were out of the spacecraft, and in those 2 minutes, their lives were changed considerably. Alex has a heart attack and his partner kills herself in a shower with a plugged-in radio. Spencer's wife Jillian notices this change in her husband, especially after she becomes pregnant. Urged on by a former NASA employer, she begins to believe that her husband is not the same. We start asking questions about what happened in those 2 minutes. Something strange and eerie. The movie has a lot of suspence and unexpected surprises, especially the ending. When I recall it over again, I think it isn't such a bad movie, like I first thought.
Definately one of the best comedies, with my fave actors in it. Max, an eager analyst, is appointed regretibly by the Chief, to work with Agent 99. Unexperienced and with no time to lose, Max along with Agent 99 are on a treacherous mission to thwart the plot for world domination by KAOS. 'Get Smart' is an incredibly funny movie with Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway bringing out their great talents in this one. It's worth watching it.
One of the best Tim Burton movies with great animation, art and music. The story is about Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloween Town, who by mistake finds himself in Christmas town. Everything was new to his eyes, and so, when he went back to his town, he wanted to find out more what this Christmas was all about. He decided to spread Christmas joy to the world, but his well-meaning misson turns into a nightmare for all the children and Santa Claus. It's ten original songs by Danny Elfman are brilliant, along with Tim Burton's visionary genius make this movie a milestone.
Being a person crazy on Daffy duck, this movie was a great treat for me. Daffy duck is ejected for Hollywood due to his arrogant attitude towards Bugz Bunny, because in his opinion, Bugz Bunny get more attenton than him. Teaming up with DJ, who was fired because of him, they embark on a dangerous adventure in which DJ wants to find Dusty Tail, search for the diamond and save his father. But the ACME corp, wants the diamond too. I consider this a great comedy for all the family.
The story is set 9 years after the event in the last movie. Evelyn, now married to Rick O'Connell is living in London with their 8 year old boy Alex. They discover the braclet of Anubis and out of curiosity, Alex wears it. But someone else is after this braclet, and Imhotep is yet again resurrected from the dead and wants the braclet in order to control the Scorpion King's army. Alex is captured by Imhotep and he has only a few days left alive, until the braclet sucks his life from him. The story continues to develop, with a lot of excitment, tragedies and even a little bit of funny scenes. Although the special effects are not as I consider them, their very best, the movie still intrigued me.
Mo has the ability to bring characters out of books if he read them aloud. On a particular day he brought 3 characters out of the book Inkheart, a fantasy story filled with magic and evil. Theese characters are Capricorn, Basta and Dustfinger. 10 years later Maggie, Mo's daughter discovers the truth and what had really happened to her mum, and together, with the help of others they want to bring everything back to normal and escape from Capricorn's evil. I love this movie, one of the best of Brendan Fraser and the magic never ceases to stop.
The movie is wounderful and one of the few that tried to keep to the book as much as possible. But still, one cannot compare it to the book while watching this movie, because you would certainly underestimate it. The story is quite simple: Bella Swan goes to live with her father in Forks and falls in love with the mysterious and dazzling Edward Cullen, portrayed perfectly by Robert Pattinson. But being in love with a vampire has its risks. They get in the way of a blood thirsty tracker and keeping Bella safe is the most important thing for Edward. I liked the fact that they used a lot of quotes from the book, but then I didn't like the terse conversations very much. And I think Bella didn't convey her love for Edward as much as I had expected. But overall, I think it's a good movie worth watching. And please, do not compare it to Harry Potter. The stories are on a completely different scale. What does magic and witchcraft have to do with vampires?!
