Role Models - R This movie is so fucking funny. I wouldn't expect anything less from David Wain. March 2, 2009

Margot at the Wedding - R Pretty infuriating movie. I liked Jack Black and JJL and Nicole Kidman's son.. but the rest of the characters were horrible. It didn't have much of a point. I couldn't figure out if it was supposed to be funny or sad or what. :/ Just a weird movie and not particularly enjoyable. February 28, 2009

Mallrats - R Favorite Kevin Smith movie hands down. February 25, 2009

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist - PG-13 Pretentious as all get-out. Michael Cera was good in it, but he's good in everything. It all felt very rushed and unrealistic. Most of the characters sucked. And when Devendra Banhart just showed up at the Korean grocery store? That was it for me. I won't even get into the extremely awkward and out of place fingering scene. Wow. February 9, 2009

Mirrors - R I like how Keifer Sutherland is just Jack Bauer in everything now. This was okay. I expected a little more from a combo like Sutherland and Alexandre Aja. But it wasn't horrible. February 9, 2009

Gran Torino - R Really great. February 2, 2009

St. Elmo's Fire - PG-13 Typical 80's Brat Pack film. A little boring in parts but overall I'm glad to have finally seen it. January 18, 2009

Paris Je T'aime - R Gorgeous. January 14, 2009

The Happening - R I feel like this wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. The thing is that the writing was horrid. If M. Night had like.. settled for being a creator, outlined it, given it to someone who could write it and then given it to someone who could direct it, it would have been an incredible movie. Because the general premise is brilliant. Even some of the plot points were well thought out. It was just very poorly executed. And I know lots of people thought the acting was bad.. I don't think it was really the actors' fault. Because Zooey and Mark Walberg are usually really great. I think it's just the result of bad writing and bad direction. January 12, 2009

Forgetting Sarah Marshall - R Really adorable, awesome cast, funny. January 12, 2009

The Strangers - R VERY scary. Really effective. A truly decent American horror film. January 9, 2009

The Devil and Daniel Johnston - PG-13 Completely lovely and devastating. I can relate to him in so many ways. And in every other way, I can find inspiration. I'm warming up to his music, even. What an incredible person.. with such a tragic life. January 7, 2009

Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay - R Not as good as I expected. January 5, 2009

The Wrestler - R Super depressing, kind of boring at first but picked up later on. I used to be a huge fan of proffesional wrestling.. so it isn't lack of appreciation for the subject matter. I just wasn't all that into it. But I must say it was well made, written and acted. January 5, 2009
