Paranormal Activity

I've watched a lot of so called horror or psychological horror type movies in my time so was really expecting more of the same rubbish especially when, please U.S. cousins forgive me, they say "the movie that has scared American viewers" - heard that one so many times!
but there's an ordinariness that draws you in and, in my case, left me seriously insecure for a long time - the tension builds and builds and although you have a fair idea of the outcome it's the voyeuristic nature of the movie, we are right behind that camera, in the room, feeling what they are - that makes this a seriously disturbing movie!
Where the Wild Things Are
PG
this was an infuriating movie - the characters, scenery and general atmosphere had that "something" that grabbed me but it seemed at the same time shallow and unsubstantial. I felt there was more the story inted at tbut didn't quite deliver - like that movement you see in the corner of your vision but when you turn to look its not there not quite real ...oh I'm blethering now lol

3 times. that's how many times I've watched this and for an old cynic like me that makes it a remarkable film. A family film it aint but it's definately on my all time top list
The Machinist

If ever a man suffered for his art it's Christian Bale in the Machinist. One of the best and so far under rated actors of his generation and thisis a disturbing but fascinating film it's like watching a car crash in slow mo' as the character unravels in front of you - get it watch it and be prepared to be haunted by it.
