Corn in everything (Corn Syrup or variants) we eat.

    Subsidies!!!!

The changes in our food the last 50 years

The connections of major players in the Food biz to government so-called watchdogs and regulatory institutions.

Some have called this a major chick flick, but I liked it. Worth adding to the que, imo. And I don't recommend many movies. But out of 136 Flixster connections only 1 friend has seen (rated 4/5 stars), 3 are not interested, and 5 want to see. And I know that more than 7% of my friends will like it, especially since my wife liked it.

    IMDB: 7.2/10 (468 votes)
RT critics: 81% Fresh (27 reviews)

At least check out the trailer.

The Private Lives of Pippa Lee The Private Lives of Pippa Lee

Great big wonderful cast spanning the life of Pippa (Robin Wright Penn, Blake Lively, et. al.)

Alan Arkin is wonderful as Herb Lee.

Maria Bello is awesome as Pippa's mom.

    Keanu Reeves is right on.

Brief but good appearances by Mike Binder (writer/director), Winona Ryder, Julianne Moore, Monica Bellucci, and many more.

For me a very smart, very funny, dramatic life story. Very well made with flashbacks to Pippa's birth, adolescence, and young adulthood. I enjoyed it a lot and recommend it.

I was not prepared to see this when I did the first time because of my mood so I was mostly disappointed. But after seeing it a 2nd time, with a much more open mood to comedy, it is not bad. Funny, some shocking, cute little romantic comedy. Fun soundtrack. My hat is off to Jason Segel. Mila Kunis is still hot. Russell Brand is hilarious!! Even appreciated Maria Thayer this time. She might need some more work!

"Sometimes you don't know you've crossed a line until you're already on the other side."

Loved it! Great cast, great performances. There is a lot going on in this film but it has a good pace and is not overwhelming. I laughed and cried. I could go on and on about the cast. I seemingly liked this a lot more than everyone else for some reason. 6.7/10 on IMBD. 3/5 here on Flixster. The critics did not like it either giving it only Average Rating: 5.4/10 on RT. It only made $3.4 million at the box office which is pretty weak. I am impressed by Robert Benton!! Dude is still making movies. I saw his Kramer vs. Kramer in the theater when I was 9 years old. I think this is much better. If I can make a movie this good when I am 75 years old I will be pretty happy. Decent soundtrack. Beautifully filmed.

Dark, unsettling, atmospheric mystery....strange but also funny at times...some scenes reminiscent of 'Blue Velvet'.... terrific performances by Bale and Sharian keep the viewer engrossed and guessing right till the end

Enjoyable, somewhat predictable but based on real events. Good to see more of Jim Sturgess.

Good fact-based story, but not great. Jim Sturgess (Across the Universe, The Other Boleyn Girl) is great. I kept wanting him to sing. I think Kate Bosworth has potential. Aaron Yoo (Disturbia, Rocket Science& The Wackness) is good. Kevin Spacey & Laurence Fishburne are both excellent with Spacey having the much better role.

Yo, check out my review. No Prisoners.
    Street Kings Street Kings
    by Mark
Yawn. The first half put me to sleep. Forest Whitaker is good as a dirty cop. Keanu Reeves I was able to tolerate in this role by the end (and I am not the typical anti Keanu because I liked The Lake House, A Scanner Darkly, Constantine, Something's Gotta Give, The Matrix, Hard Ball, Sweet November, The Replacements, The Devil's Advocate, A Walk in the Clouds, Speed, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Bill & Ted's, The Night Before, Youngblood, Chain Reaction, Babes in Toyland and Point Break. But he has been in a few that I thought were duds like this: Johnny Mnemonic or Feeling Minnesota. Granted this was not as bad as those. ) The little romance did not stir me. Hugh Laurie (Dr. House) does not interest me, either. Boring, contrived, unconvincing. Not hard or fast enough. Dull, not sharp. I'd rather it was slicker, a harder R by 90%. Maybe someone will remake this in 15 years.

The 2nd half is not too bad overall compared to the first half. But this ain't no Crank, Gone Baby Gone or Mulholland Falls. If you have not seen those, The Usual Suspects, Fight Club, Se7en, L.A. Confidential, or Oscar winner No Country for Old Men, please see all of them before you see Street Kings. "No Prisoners."
