Well, I've worked as a drag queen and on cruise ships, and even been publicly humilated on TV. What can I say? I'm all about the entertainment... Life is mental! Just always remember that what doesn't break you shapes you!

Captivity
R
This movie has a BIIIIGGG problem... Elisha Cuthbert's character is not developed enough at all at the beginning, so when she is abducted you really couldn't give a crap about her... Then she is tortured in a few quite sickening demented ways just for kicks and you think the director is just a sick pervert... Then there is finally a bit more characterization, with another introduced and it becomes more human... The problem is for the first half you've been wanting to turn it off. What could have been a great film ended up as just 'OK'...
The Invasion
PG-13
I actually thoroughly injoyed this movie and thought it was like an alien version of 28 Days Later... The acting was brilliant, as I thought was the story-line. Many will disagree, but I highly recommend it... Well deserved paranoia thrown in for good measure, which I usually hate in movies!
Mute Witness
R
This was pretty good actually, and does beg the question what would you do if you couldn't speak and were the only witness of a murder? The main actress played it really well, and there were plenty of twists and turns. Definitely a thriller that was worth the watch!
Chat gim (The Seven Swords)
R
Well, it's a generic martial arts film, that could be a lot better than it is... Not enough is made of the seven swords themselves and each of the abilities it brings, also what exactly is the story of The Master, and why is martial arts banned?! One of the best villians was killed halfway through, and half-heartedly... A movie that is okay, but completely anti-climactic and badly dubbed... Also, too long and to dull in places... A crying shame really.
Enchanted
PG
I honestly didn't think I'd enjoy this movie just as much as I ended up doing! It really is complete and thorough family entertainment... There are references that anyone can understand, and the fact that it is a Disney movie that takes the mickey (if you'll excuse the pun) out of itself is fab! The songs, the chipmunk, and the outright cheesiness are sheer brilliance!
Black Sheep (2007)
Unrated
This is a movie that is completely original and entertaining! Hilarious points to it, and great mix of characters and gore! There are times when it pays homage to movies like 'An American Werewolf in London' with the effects amongst other things, but bloody brilliant and a complete riot! If you haven't seen it yet then you're missing out! Love it!

I am sooo in love with this movie you have no idea. I absolutely adore everything about it, plus I'm in love with the main actor. Just brilliant... The journey the main character goes on... I can totally relate. If you watch one foreign movie let it be this one!
2.
Pan's Labyrinth (El Laberinto del Fauno)
R
A truly phenomenal modern fairy tale masterpiece. This movie had me gripped throughout. I was sympathetic to certain characters from the start and intrigued what my eyes would behold as I carried on watching it. True brilliance.
3.
The Chumscrubber
R
This movie is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It's dark but funny, has an amazing cast, and the whole story-line goes together well whilst still being believable. It could actually happen, and you never know what is going on behind closed doors. Can't praise this movie and Jamie Bell enough!!
4.
Thumbsucker
R
This is one of those indie flicks I'm glad I stumbled across. It's a really original idea for a movie, and highly enjoyable. Lou Pucci is brilliant as the lead and I hope to see a lot more of him in the future!

Shortbus

This is a movie that needed to be made! It's brilliant. Highly explicit, and you can't help get turned on in some places, but I think that's the point. Sex is taboo, but human, so why not make a movie that addresses it frankly? Brilliant movie, and I'm in love with Ceth's character. He is beautiful...

Hot Fuzz
R
This is one of the funniest movies you will ever see! Sheer brilliance! Simon Pegg versus a whole village! I'm loving it. If you wanna be completely entertained then this is the movie for you!

Alpha Dog
by MelianI have to give it a good score even with the super disturbing subject matter because it has really good performances from the young actors. I saw Justin on Jay Leno promoting this flick when it came out... he was sure to touch on the topic of young people in the drug world--they are dangerous and stupid. The film also shows how several of these kids' parents had raised them into this disgusting way of life--even encouraging criminal behavior.
I'm not keen on the F-bomb being thrown around every 3 seconds, but you know this is just how these kids really were. It's a well-written & well-made true story and as horrifying as anything you could imagine. It made me sad and angry at the same time--so many people were to blame and NO ONE stood up for what they knew was right (although Frankie & Keith almost did)...
I recommend it to everyone because it's a really powerful film--and absolutely heartbreaking. It'll stay with you for a long time. Some of you have this marked as "not interested"... but it wasn't something I would normally watch and I ended up being truly affected by it. Please rent it!

Martian Child
by GlenThe script is based on the autobiographical short story by science fiction writer David Gerrold, whose first story was Star Trek's "The Trouble with Tribbles". Near the end the author's publisher asks, "Why can't you just be what we want you to be?" What a question!! This controlling assumption is echoed between parents and lovers and friends and in realtionships generally both in the movie and in life. In the movie, the adopted son and his new father learn to love one another as they are, and that's more than what either had wanted the other to be.
I really enjoyed this simple movie!

Death at a Funeral
by Brad"She was the most beautiful girl in the village...she'd walk into a room...and everyone's eyes would look at her...everyone wanted to f$@! her." LOL!! That was the best part in this surprisingly witty British comedy. This contains your standard British banter with a few surprises thrown in. The best character by far was "Uncle Alfie" the king of all wit and grumpiness. The film itself had a great cast of characters and was light and entertaining all the way through.

I recommend you see...Hey, you should really see this when it comes out.
I got to see a screening for 20 mins of few scenes for this film that is using a new 3D format just like something you get to see at Universal Studios or Walt Disney.Hosted by Brendan Fraser.
It looks Amazing not like any other 3D film seen in the big screen.posted 25 days ago -

Prom Night
by JunyLet me start by saying it doesn't make to much sense to come up with a PG-13 remake of an R-Rated slasher film besides the story was different from the original but not in a good way. This film fails to be scary & not suspenseful enough with a killer that wasn't so convincing playing this role. This is one of the worst horror films to hit theaters & to make it worst is predictable from the beginning.Hardly any blood or interesting death scenes.
Adding this one to my list "Horror Hall Of Shame"

Pathology
by JunyA different type of thriller or horror film with a twisted & perverse story. The characters are also twisted & the plot is not necessary a good one but the one thing that came through for the film was top notch gore effects with explicit sequences of corpses being cut open, surgical procedures, organ removal & cool death scenes.Few sex scenes & lots of gore but to me is an average film which the performances doesn't stand out & the story felt unreal.

I'm 50/50 with this one because i wasn't feeling the story & the characters.Gore-hounds will probably dig this one.Very gory!
But if you have some time to kill watch this film & skip Prom Night for sure.posted 25 days ago -

Torch Song Trilogy
by BradIf you like the genre "Drama" than this film is def for you. With this film did bring tons and tons of it. Course what gay men out there does not have drama happen in his life. Above all I did like this film but towards the ending it kind of just flipped around and had some things happen per say I didn't quite want it to go there. Though at the very end it was def a touching movie and made you feel like it was a happy ending after all. I loved the whole Drag Queen scenes and you can't forget the guy who was Jackie's love interest from the hit tv show "Roseanne". Matthew Broderick was good in his role yet he could have been stronger. The times have changed where it no longer matters if a A list star would play a gay role. For people who have seen the play I am sure this is a bad representation of it. I still think this is a good gay cinema film to watch and learn from.
I liked this film ..maybe you will too...

Velvet Goldmine
by BradAlthough this movie isn't for everyone it still was good to watch. You def have to have an open mind and love to watch film itself in the making. What makes this film worth watching is the elaborate costume designs along with the performances of Ewan McGregor and Toni Collette. If you get a chance and want something different to watch be sure to see this one.
Try and see this one if you get the chance...

À l'intérieur (Inside)
by JunyThis very gruesome horror film is not for the squeamish & the faint of heart. Is the the type of film that will take you to the edge of your seat from beginning to end.Extremely bloody, gory, intense, brutal & so violent. The story might not be the greatest but is a very effective slasher film that gets under your skin with one the most vindictive & evil villain to come around.

Oxygen
by DanielA psychopath who dubs himself Harry Houdini (Adrien Brody) kidnaps the wife of a rich businessman, strips her, and buries her alive in a coffin with about an hour's worth of air, demanding a million dollars in cash in return for which he will reveal her location. If the ransom isn't paid, or the police are involved, 'Harry' will not give up the details... the husband gets the police involved. The detective investigating, Madeline (Maura Tierney of Scotland PA, Diggers and ER fame) is now the only one who can try and solve the case. A damaged masochist with a drink problem, she'll have to think like Harry in order to find the burial site before the oxygen runs out.
Opening with a kinetic chase through a subway train, Oxygen immediately makes an impression. Its greatest asset is the well thought out characters, who so clearly have had lives before the film begins. In particular, Madeline is an absolutely fascinating protagonist and the bits of information we get build into something that makes the dénouement doubly exciting. The premise is excellently handled but this isn't a one-trick pony of a film and the sub-plots are equally well executed. Maura Tierney and Adrien Brody both give refreshing performances (a sort-of skew on the Hannibal/Clarice relationship in Silence of The Lambs) and the supporting cast (which includes Terry Kinney and Dylan Baker in a small role) is decent. The low budget is occasionally evident (a car-chase through New York City isn't exactly high-speed) but higher production values might have resulted in something more sensationalist and less imaginative. In any case, this is a solid, exciting little flick.
I know. How bad does that DVD art look (the photos aren't even stills from the movie - Maura Tierney has the wrong color hair and Adrien Brody's photo looks too recent) - but this is really good. Promise.

by GlenBased on a real story. Based in a real time in South Africa. Want to see an alcoholic at his worst? See it! I liked almost everything about this movie except the father's last words. It's not long enough to be as detailed as you might like, but it's long enough to tell an interesting story.
I thought this movie was powerful and interesting!
