Good pace, good action. Well filmed. I like Liam Neeson, so it was fun to seem him as the action bad ass breaking arms and shooting multiple people in seconds. I wanted a little more from Maggie Grace especially at the beginning but she was nice with the minor role that she had, playing a 17 year old (whatever).
Jindabyne
R
---In Australia, the town of Jindabyne is about to face a moment of truth.---
Based on short story "So Much Water So Close to Home" based on a supposedly true story.
I was expecting Crime, Drama, Mystery, Thriller.
---Under the surface of every life lies a mystery---
What I got was an ultimately disappointing drama that seemed like it had a knife that it was hiding in the back pocket and a punch that was ready to thrown but every life kept it's mysteries ans secrets.
I kept waiting for the sucker punch or the edge, even up to to the very end.
Sometimes a movie that is true will close with facts, but the ending was left open and I am not interested in the story or research.
What this movie does have is some decent acting.
Laura Linney is great!!! I love watching her. Good range of emotions and expressions.
Gabriel Byrne is good, too.
Maya Daniels, Eva Lazzaro & Betty Lucas give good supporting contributions to their characters.
The Dark Knight
PG-13
Third time is a charm!! I wondered if I would like it as much, and I did!!! This time I really savored ever word. It was really loaded more than I realized because the first couple of times I could not focus on them as much being memorized by Health's performance and Nolan's interpretation of The Joker. Brilliant.
Even better at IMAX, seeing it for a second time. A visual feast for the eyes and body. I got a little queasy, which is a good thing, during the rooftop scenes.
Awesome fun watching Heath, like a memorial, it was an honor.
"Nolan and crew have created something close to a masterpiece."
Kept me engaged the whole move. Loved it.
Must Love Dogs
PG-13
I liked it. Cute, mushy, sweet. I think either you can stand John Cusack's rambling or you can't. I really like him even though I do not think that this role is enough for him. I would have like to see an actor reach for the role. I think John Cusack was just too good for this and it was not challenging enough for him. I liked him in this but want more.
Diane Lane on the other hand is so hot I could just watch her play a mundane, plain Jane walking the dog and still be satisfied. But she has some good moments and this is really her movie to shine and she beams.
Come Early Morning
R
Joey Lauren Adams wrote the part of Lucy for herself, but gave the part to Ashley Judd when she decided she would be unable to direct the film and star in it.
Good thing because Ashley Judd is smoking hot!!!
Not a bad movie, it kept my interest. For me, it kind of crept along at times. Some of the characters were so far into themselves that it was hard to see who they were; like a room full of introverts or something. But thank God for Ashley Judd, who was the bomb in this.
She is the extrovert, the seeker, the playful one, the one who allows her guilt to move her heart into action inside of hiding. Granted she is hiding in her ways too. But she carries the whole thing.
Laura Prepon was pretty dang boring the first half as she really had nothing interesting to say and do and her flannel pajamas were not all that good. But she had a few short moments where she shone and that was refreshing.
Jeffrey Donovan did a good job with what he had.
Everyone else had pretty minor roles including Stacy Keach and Wally Welch, in case you where worried.
I enjoyed it even though I don't recommended it.
I almost forgot to mention how great Ashley Judd looks lin a pair of jeans!
Flannel Pajamas
R
I enjoyed most of this, some of it very much. It had some heavy scenes of dialog, some beautiful cinematography and some great one liners. But it also had it's flaws. I thought it lost steam, dragged a bit and the ending was a mess. I can't recommend it, even though I enjoyed it overall.
As far as being Rated R for strong sexuality, graphic nudity and language; I think it was fairly soft and safe. It did not push any envelopes or cross any lines. It kept waiting for it to turn very dark but it did not.
I do think Julianne Nicholson was very good and she is so beautiful, indeed!!! So the nudity was very nice and freckled :)

Dangerous Parking
Unrated
I really liked this one!! It is a hidden gem!!
From press packet: Based on the critically acclaimed novel by the late Stuart Browne, Dangerous Parking tells the story of Noah Arkwright, a cult director in the indie film world, whose life is on a crash course, with Noah steering himself towards his own destruction. Noah's life is one of success -and excess. Everything - drink, drugs, girls, fame - that Noah can get his hands on he wolfs down with an insatiable hunger. But he is running towards a brick wall - alcoholism and drug addiction have him firmly in their grasp - and Noah has no interest in acknowledging either until Kirstin, a young alcoholic who has 'seen the light', manages to convince Noah that he is heading for destruction and sets him on the path to reclaim himself. With the help of his best friend Ray, Noah attempts to right his ship -and when fate sends him a guardian angel in the shape of cellist Clare Mathesson, Noah tries even harder to shift his focus from self abuse to self preservation and onto the road to selflessness...
Written, Directed by and Staring: Peter Howitt (Sliding Doors with Gwyneth Paltrow)
Winner of Best Director Award at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
"Even the fast lane comes to an end"
Synopsis from web site: Noah Arkwright is a man on the edge: For years lauded as the best thing about the British Film Industry, success has not been the only thing that has gone to his head. When Noah makes a drunken pass at Kirsten one day, he finds himself forced to face up to his demons and admit that either he kicks the booze, or faces death. Though a tough course to navigate, rehab propels Noah into an encounter with his guardian angel Clare, the woman who might just be able to save him.
But just when it seems he might be happy, fate deals Noah the cruelest of blows?
"British Film making at it's best"
MSN Movies said Dangerous Parking is by no means an easy viewing experience, but those who accept the challenge will be rewarded with one of the most moving films this year.

"With each moment we write our story" Not a mainstream movie! Limited release. But that does not mean it can't be enjoyed. Even though it has a lot of language and some disturbing ideas, it is enjoyable even for the fairly easily offended. Cynical it seems, not lighthearted. "I give to Amnesty International on the off chance that I?m ever imprisoned and tortured for my political beliefs, paradoxically I have no political beliefs" Some people seem to really like this and some seem to have a strong disdain. I lean heavy towards the former because the lead character "is messed up"! Ha, imagine me liking that! There but for the Grace of God go I. For me, it was Paul Thomas Anderson's Punch-Drunk Love vs Michel Gondry's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. "Succeeding in this business is ninety-nine percent perseverance and one percent talent. Congratulations, gentlemen, you're ninety-nine percent of the way there." "Life is a horrible little giggle in the midst of a forced death march towards hell. " "Life is nothing but the echo of joy disappearing into the great chasm of misery." "Life is nothing but the occasional burst of laughter rising above the interminable wail of grief." I liked the soundtrack!! Mandy Moore has darker role and a darker look in this one, especially compared to License to Wed.It is good to see her take on a little grittier role even she is still an American good girl sweetheart imo. She has grown up enough to be believable. Hope for more from her. Billy Crudup & Tom Wilkinson are wonderful and hilarious! My rant: it left me thinking from the movie's most terrible tense scene imo. Even though, I have not seen anyone else mention this scene, it was such a small part in the film and just continued an already introduced theme, that Henery's mother treated him poorly, which is likely central to his women and intimacy issues. Henry and Lucy are sitting in a coffee shop. There is another customer who is a "bad" mother, slapping and belittling her child. Lucy can't take it and starts to get up to say something to the woman. Henry grabs her arm and says something like 'If you go over there, she will just beat the hell out out of that child when they get home. Do you want that?' Lucy stops and says 'I did not think of it like that' I still feel like I'm sitting there in that cafe. Pure horror and terror, almost like Saw. The lesser of two evils. I have a very hard time accepting it!!

For starters, I personally come into this movie with no expectations, no history that I must align or adhere to, and predisposition toward anyone in the cast or the director himself. I enjoyed this very much. There are some scenes/shots that are so beautiful. The only expectation for me was that someone compared this to an episode of LOR. Ha, not even close. But I tried to put that out of my mind even though there were a couple of scenes that were similar. What a compliment to LOR. This started out with our hero as a child and followed him till his reign. At there it stops. So you get a lot of back story. I have not checked but I assume there are other movies about Genghis Khan. Most of this movie he is just Temudgin, and not in the position/place of a Khan. I think this film tries hard to show the "multidimensional, inspiring, visionary leader and his character and trials before he became the greatest Khan. Also the emphasis, which tends to piss some people off, is "his relationship with his wife, Borte, his lifelong love and most trusted" adviser. If that is a turn off to you then please avoid this movie because you will hate it like others. I thought I was done, but there is more!! I was it was great to see that when a leader leads, the people follow. He was greatly respected by his countryman and strangers alike. He was a man of faith, prayer and righteousness and many times prays to the God of his understanding: Lord of the Blue Sky, Great Tengri! His mother also has a significant role in his life. Did I mention that his wife is funny and a stone cold fox?!!

Awesome documentary with onstage live performance footage, behind the stage, music videos, and interviews. It rocked, it rolled. I laughed, and cried!! I loved them both onstage and off. So cute, so real, so down to earth and wise.

Fun popcorn movie to me. The things that irritate others seem to bring balance to me. But I did not sit through the credits thinking of the action, how fun this movie would have been 10 years ago, the acting, etc. Like The Matrix, it caused me to pause, reflexed and think. I loved the last line, "What the fuck have you done lately?" I had to ask myself am I stressing out over little things. Being worried and anxious? Am I looking to my bank account balance as my measure of attainment or worth? Or do I believe I have the promise of destiny in my heart, pumping in my veins, and in my DNA? I think I do. Like Wesley Gibson.

I Know Who Killed Me
by GaryShould have been called 'I Know What Killed Lindsay Lohan's Career'. I actually had to make an effort to endure this steaming pile of bollocks. Not only is Lindsay Lohan shockingly bad, but the script comes out like a a half sedated sloth. No shocks, no laughs, no revelations, no surprises and absolutely no enjoyment (except for the stripping). I gotta ask... if this got made, how many great screenplays are out there that could have taken this budget and contributed to the world..... Just a thought.
NOT a recommendation, just a warning with a few of my thoughts.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua
by MeshWhy this movie is considered bad, I'll tell you :
1.The plot is mediocre at best.
2. The direction, dialogue, etc have been used.
3. Raja Gosnel is a damn bad director, don't give him any more projects!
4. Over long movie, it's crazy just for a stupid kiddy flick!
But, if you like dogs and other 'cute' animals you might want to give it a try on DVD!
PS: Jamie Lee curtis choose this movie? she really doesn't have much offer, does she?!
4/10.Share the same cheesiness as other kiddy movie, watch it on your own risk!

This will not be a movie for everyone, especially animal lovers. Here it is a movie, yet it happens in real life everyday, somewhere, someone enjoys This sick blood sport of dog fighting.

by CAROLThough an olderr movie, sadly it still reflects the inadequate care our Vets still recieve today in our VA Hospitals today.
A movie that all Americans should watch, and realize how truly under staffed and poorly treated our Veterans were & still are cared for. Having been an Army wife for several years (long ago) it brought back some sad memories.

by CAROLA very disturbing movie to watch. But will open ones eyes to the many cases of child abuse that happen every day somewhere in our country. perhaps right in your own town.
Very hard to watch, but one that will stay with you long after you see it. Sad that to many people look the other way when they suspect abuse, because they do not want to get involved.

I am not a huge viewer of sub titled movies, but on occasion do stumble across one that grabs & holds me thru the movie. I think you will enjoy this as it is a good suspense thriller, grabed me from the start & held me to the very end.

Bitch Slap
by megaHot, Kick-Ass, Sexy, F*cked Up, Funny, Slam Bang, Grindhouse, Wild Ride... these are just a handful of words that I would use to describe the new trailer for BITCH SLAP that I just watched. I'm telling you right now, it is a MUST VIEW! You'd think with a title like BITCH SLAP that it'd be just another dumb piece of softcore trash. And how wrong you'd be! The trailer speaks for itself, but I just have to tell you that I thought it was great! For the men; pls tell me if any playful words come to mind upon viewing it, ok? Yes, these girls are extremely hot. Yet that is just a small part of what BITCH SLAP seems to be as a whole. Wait till you see that trailer!
Here's the plot:
At its core, BITCH SLAP follows three bad girls (a down-and-out stripper, a drug-running killer & a corporate powerbroker) as they arrive at a remote desert hideaway to extort & steal $200 Million in diamonds from a ruthless underworld kingpin. Things quickly spin out of control as allegiances change, truths are revealed, other criminals arrive for the score, the fate of the world hangs in the balance and they are forced to confront a villain much worse than they ever expected - themselves. It's the ultimate morality tale as, one by one, they realize the whole she-bang was a set-up and one of them may not even be human...Hey, you should really see this!

A Very Long Engagement (Un long dimanche de fiançailles)
by JensIt starts with the ugliness of war, in the trenches of the first world war. The creators of "Amelie" tell the story of Mathilde, whose fiancee got lost in the chaos of war and her relentless search for informations about his fate. That requires some concentration from the side of the audience, which has to deal with a lot of names and faces, but is still very well done. The beautifully shot French film combines the realistic horrors of a war movie with a detective story and love drama and still manages to be very convincing in each of these aspects as we gradually learn about the real story of the five court-martialed soldiers kicked into no man's land between French and German trenches. The biggest surprise, besides how well this combination works, is Jodie Foster's small role as soldier widow. Just like in "Amelie" Audrey Tautou is a little odd but quite charming in her efforts to solve the mystery, not giving up hope for her love still being alive. Not much more should be spoiled about this film. which is easily one of the best that ever came from its country of origin.
Hey, you should really see this if you like historical love dramas and / or war movies.
