This was pretty much exactly as I expected, except the somewhat unexpected twist in the ending. As a Sci-Fi freak it didn't really have anything new, apart from the story to some extent, you haven't seen before but odd and Sci-Fi enough. Nothing more, nothing less. I liked it and most likely I'm going to see it soon again.

I did not know what to expect from this movie (note: The Matrix: Part 1) because I had heard a lot of opinions, both bad and good. So the first time I watched this was at the cinema and the first thing I saw was this girl (Trinity) flying and I thought in a negative sense, "Alright, this is one of those bad crazy sci-fi movies... but I give it a chance.". After awhile it started to become little more interesting but then Neo's mouth disappeared and was like, "Ok that's it! This is far too lame, not my kind of movie..." But then something happened, I did found myself very excited and literally nailed to the cinema chair. And after that I was lost, totally immersed and in some kind of a trance, not joking, really...
After finishing the movie I was speechless and completely amazed of the action, the original visual effects, the martial arts, the acting and the characters, the music and the sound effects, the editing, the art, the mystery... Yes, basically everything but not the least, the mind-blowing story. And it totally blew me away and still does today!
Although, I must say I didn't got the whole point the first time I saw it, even if I first thought so. The third watch was when I really got it, what the Matrix really was and what really happened to Neo. The actual feeling I got when I finally understood the whole thing was more or less like some kind of a religious experience... not kidding... well a little.
And the conclusion of all this: If I could give 6 stars to one single movie, -it would be this!
