special effects are very good, very much inspired by the art of the comic novel. historically, very close to truth, altho loaded with mysticism and embellishment. I just want to point out that the village that was supposed to protect the pass retreated upon hearing that the enemy was sending reinforcements, returned to their village to protect the women and children, there fore leaving that pass open... which was a terrible part of history. however, if they had not won, we wouldn't have such a great movie.
the story moves fast from what i can remember. very interesting theory on what the futre could possibly become. realistic warfare. a movie that makes you think. i like that.
mike judge. silly, but true. i laffed my ass off and rememberd several scenes months later. idiotic, as is the title. fitting analogy to what our society is leaning towards. perhaps it should be labled "public service announcment"
loved it loved it loved it. that big monkey is just adorable, even when he's cracking open dinosaur skulls and wrestling tyrannosaurus rex. and i can't help but get choked up every time i see it; especially where he slips of the building in the end. if you havent seen it, you should. a great remake, possibly just the way it was originally intended. don't mind the dialog...it's pretty cheesy and a bit melodramatic, but those were the times. and even if you don't care for dialog, see it for the amazing environments cgi.
well i liked it when i saw it. i have to take a star away for it being a bit long, however the cinematography is breathtaking. i did enjoy the keith richards cameo, but i wish that somehow there might have been a flashback scene of him and johnny depp as father and son growing up. what would that have been like? i wish my dad were keith richards......well...maybe, just maybe.
i'm not a girly movie girl, but i certainly enjoyed this one. it might have been a guilty pleasure, but you watch it and tell me you don't cry , or you don't feel somewhat moved by the storyline. don't be a jackass, just watch it and see for yourself.
the scenes in this one are on level or above par with the last 2 in the series. although you might think it a little long-winded, the cinematography is very enchanting.
if you've seen the first 2 installments in theatres, then you don't want to miss this one. my initial reaction was that it was a little heavy on the drama; the action was pretty good. i would still have to say, that of all 3, spidey 2 is still my fave.
if you like michel gondry, this is one you don't want to miss, even if you aren't a jim carrey fan. I happen to think he does a wonderful job in this piece and i must applaud him for choosing this one. very very good.
so i saw this on on the 4th of july. full theatre, sold out showing and every bit as satisfying as when i was a kid watching the episodes. a couple of warnings, the action scenes are so fast, sometimes it looks like huge avalanches of scrap metal. and i'd like to watch it again just for fun. believe the hype as the spec-effects are done marvelously, and that new guy shia lebauf (?) not bad with the humor: plays geeky high school kid to a tee. and you already like him from the second he steps on screen hocking his grandfather's stuff.
i saw this the other day , despite some bad criticism. and i must say it was pretty thought provoking. i find myself trying to find the number 23, but i'm not that good at math.hahaha. nice unexpected ending. i actually didn't see it heading in that direction, but well i guess perhaps i'm a bit dense lately. it was raining...ha. and surprisingly i'm not a huge fan of jim carrey; but this and the eternal sunshine of the spotless mind were very good choices. i like the movies he's made lately...well...not ALL of them. watch it and see for yourself. carrey is surprisingly good.
looks pretty funny, haven't seen it, yet, but i did like shaun of the dead. and i am also a big fan of zombie flicks, nomatter how awful....so i finally saw this one. love the quick cuts, and the humor is right on point. those guys are amazing. if anyone knows anything else they might have done or are doing....please clue me in. i like these guys. it'll be nice to have some other movie duo than the farelly brothers...
i saw this one just this past weekend. and may i just say that seth rogen and his brand of comedy are just the kind i needed. high school wasn't that superbad for me, but i recognize the same kids in this movie. and the parties? come on. unbelievable; but i guess you'll never know what kinds of crazy stuff you'll do to be superbad when you're in high school. when watching this, ask yourself, am i willing to go that far? and the answer everytime would be....helly yeaah. loved it. love seth rogen. love ya.
