Did this movie have any idea who it was trying to appeal to? Men aren't going to get into its VERY typical romantic comedy plot, and my guess is that any woman looking forward to a cute romantic comedy isn't going to be amused by the crude dialog.
There are a few creepy moments, but the acting goes downhill towards the end, and the ending (of the theatrical version, at least) is a very typical, very silly Hollywood horror ending.
Not scary, and not really even a horror movie in my opinion... more of a suspense thriller along the lines of The Good Son. Mostly predictable with a "twist" near the end that actually made me laugh out loud. Isabelle Fuhrman did a great job, though.
Don't waste your time. Watch the original Korean version, which is one of my favorite movies of all time. This remake has none of the atmosphere or spirit of the original, and ends up being just another teen horror movie.
Skip this and watch the anime instead. Though it differs plot-wise from the anime, the story here isn't the problem. Terrible CGI, terrible dialog, bad editing, lots of bad acting, and some sort of weird voice dubbing issue make this a huge disappointment.
