The Passion of the Christ The Passion of the Christ R
When this was in the theater I saw this a total of 6 to 7 times. Three of those times I took family members. This lead to some very interesting discussions. The biggest inspiration for me and the hardest to view was how much Jesus had taken in punishment for the sin of the world. The scourging was the toughest for me to watch. I would recommend this movie to anyone.
Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed PG
This movie is an excellent expose of the fear of Intelligent Design by the Darwinist. The movie starts with Ben Stein giving a speech to what looks like college students. In the process he will interview those who were expelled from places like the Smithsonian Institute and some rather prestigious colleges. These men and women dared to bring up Intelligent Design in papers or classes. Other interviewees are those on the side of Darwinism. The most prominent on this side is Richard Dawkins. Ben Stein goes around American and Europe to find out why Intelligent Design will not be discussed by the Science Community. The Science Community believes it is just a cover to get God back into the classrooms. Ben exposes this belief to be wrong. Most of the scientist interviewed for the Intelligent Design Community did not say that they were approaching this from a religious prospective. They were more interested in the prospect of the single cell having multiple layers that proves that the ?simple cell? is more complex that man was led to believe. Even those on the Darwinist side accept Intelligent Design to some extent. But when you asked them why they do not want to have it taught in schools, they do some very quick double speak and try to confuse Ben. Ben does not get side tracked easily. He actually visits some places that show some of the major drawbacks of Darwinism. By the end of the film Ben does get renowned Atheist, Author and Darwinist Richard Dawkins to admit to his reluctant acceptance of some aspect of Intelligent Design. My review is about the ignorance of the Darwinists to accept and teach Intelligent Design. What are they afraid of anyway? If their theory is so sound why not let the people decide? Why not debate in a true setting? Why are they getting people fired from institutes and putting them on Academic Black Lists. This is harking back to the Black List of entertainers who were thought to be Communists back in the 1950?s.There are many old film clips from world event and classroom settings. I felt that it was a great way to bring some insight to some of the topics on the film. I would recommend this film to anyone who has ever wondered if we can ask about other theories that are out there on the subject of Evolution.
