This is a movie right up my alley. Weird, at times sick and also tragic. The music fits this movie perfectly, and this movie is wonderfully shot. Now I'm gonna read the book.
What can I say....except that this movie twists and turns all conventions. I've got the 3 disc edition with the chronological version, and surprise, it's all in the editing.
Bruce Campbell ROCKS!,and he rocks even more as Elvis. This is a strange mix of horror and comedy, where Bruce Campbell as Elvis and Ossie Davis as JFK must fight Bubba Ho-Tep, an evil mummy that roams around a nursinghome taking souls. Directed by Don Coscarelli (Phantasm 1,2 and 3, and Incident On And Off A Mountain Road in the Masters Of Horror series), this is a highly watchable movie for fans of horror and comedy.
Wow. The visual style of this movie is amazing. Ron Pearlman is great, but Judith Vittet really sells this movie (only 11 years old). You got to have an open mind while watching this one.
Dennis Hopper really nailed his performance in Blue Velvet. A dark, sexy, violent, sick and thrilling movie that many people in the U.S. didn't like. Guess why.
I'm not a big fan of action movies, but Crank is so much more than just action. Lots of comedy, wild editing, cool music, and lots of pumping adrenalin. Jason Statham is the coolest action-dude at the moment. Buckle up.
A cool movie with my favorite action-hero Jason Statham. Luc Besson is the writer, and as I've said before in other reviews, Besson adds many layers to his projects. Cool action, some fancy driving and some humor too. This is great entertainment.
This is a dark thriller cleverly written by Andrew Kevin Walker (Seven, Sleepy Hollow), and directed by Joel Shumacher. This movie explores the underground world of pornography, and snuff movies. It's not a happy story, in any kinda way, but interesting. I really reccommend to listen to director's commentary on this movie, as it explains many things about the story and how realistic things are. 8mm is not for the faint-hearted.
This is the first of three movies about Johan Falk, a cop who goes beyond his call of duty to stop criminals that the police can't put away, because of laws and regulations. This is a very entertaining movie, with suspence and action. The actors are great, and many of the them have recurring roles in the other two movies. It is not nessecary to watch these movies in the order that they were made, cause each movie has a separate story. All three movies has english subtitles on DVD, so if you are able to get a copy....then don't hesitate. This is great entertainment.
This is the second movie of a trilogy by swedish director Anders Nilsson. Starring Jacob Eklund as the cop Johan Falk, who goes beyond his call of duty to stop international badguys. Again...a well crafted story with action and lots of suspence. This is top notch entertainment.

Before The Devil Knows You're Dead is a great drama about family...but that's not all. What makes this movies special (apart from a good story and great acting) is the non-linear way this story is told. This movie starts in the middle of the story where a robbery goes wrong and then you get to see the repercussions it has to those who are directly or indirectly involved....but you also get to see things that happened days leading up to the robbery. All of this jumping back and forth in the timeline can be a bit confusing, so attention is acquried. I love the way this movie progressed because it fleshed out the characters so well and kept me curious to know how this ends. Before The Devil Knows You're Dead is definately a movie I'm gonna watch again.
