The Maiden Heist The Maiden Heist PG-13
All the awkwardness of 3 unprofessional old guys attempting a heist is ripe for humor in this surprising little caper comedy. I love these actors and they're great together. It's funnier that one might expect for such a simple and sedate film. And one of my favorite things is that the heist is out of love for artwork, not greed or a desperate need for cash. Just their love of the art. The tag line says it all: "They're not bad guys. Just bad thieves."
It's nothing fantastic or revolutionary, but it was more than I hoped for and I enjoyed it quite a bit.
Drag Me to Hell Drag Me to Hell PG-13
It's rare that I don't finish a movie, but as soon as the chick eyed up her kitten after reading about animal sacrifice, off it went. That was on top of the movie already being total crap, so I was happy to have the excuse to cut it off.

I mean, are we SUPPOSED to root against the protagonist? 'Cuz I did. I was just enough beyond not caring about her to root against her.

Also, not scary! Fluids gushing out of the nose and/or mouth is not scary, just gross, and loses shock/gross/entertainment value after the first time, let alone the fifth.

Incredibly stupid premise, lame writing, crap characters, cheap tricks instead of actual suspense. There was literally nothing to recommend this movie or entice me to see it through to the end. It boggles my mind that it's gotten so many "fresh" reviews.

Epic fail.

His only great film after signing on with MGM. And one of his best. MGM claimed to have worn their copy out by making all new employees watch it as an example of "the perfect comedy".
Dear Frankie Dear Frankie PG-13
This movie is just about perfect. Great story. Fantastic performances. Gerard Butler. Beautiful Scottish setting and accents. Good soundtrack. Gerard Butler. Need I say more?
