Mike's Favorite Movies
The Dark Knight
PG-13
I've seen some damn good movies in 2008 and this one takes the cake. I know I'm still just coming down from the high of seeing this but this is tied for first for my favorite Batman movie of all time (and superhero for the matter!). The whole movie is brilliant. There's a lot going on but it's not too much where it's hard to follow. It's well written, well directed, well acted and visually and aesthetically pleasing! I really loved this. Heath Ledger was 100% brilliant. He was so good I forgot he was dead. Didn't spoil it for me at all like I had feared. Long live Heath Ledger, The Joker and the Batman franchise!
The Godfather
R
A true classic in every sense of the word. It's currently #1 on IMDB's 100 Greatest Movies of All Time list and for good reason. It truly is. This film contains some of the most memorable scenes of all time, also some of the most imitated lines. I'll bet you that you have at least one friend (if you haven't done so!) who's done an impression of Marlon Brando as Don Corleone. Also, you can't argue that the scene with Michael and the Turk in that restaurant didn't give you goosebumps. This movie is amazing and one everyone should see. It's long but it's brilliant. Mario Puzo was a genius.
