Hi me names Em. I think I've got my head on straight. I know exactly what I want in life and I have no trouble achieving my goals. I like to push myself in everything that I do so that I give 150% each and every time. I'm funny loving person who likes to make others laugh and therefore will do anything for a laugh or a dare. Always love to drink and party. Mythical and magical are more appealing to me then reality. But work and studies always come first. I'm a qualified chef but I'm currently working in a bar and another place(which I wish to remain silent at this point until I know you)at the moment to pay for new degree. Keep smiling and damn the man.
Oh and one more quote that I love that I won't be able to fit in above is "The weekend has landed all that exists now is club, drugs, pubs and parties. I've got 48hours off from the world man. I'm going to blow stem out my head like a screaming kettle, I'm gonna talk codshit to strangers all night. I'm gonna loose the plot on the dance floor, The free radicals inside me are freaking man, Tonight I'm Jip Travolta, I'm Peter Popper, I'm going to Never never land with my chosen family man, we're going to get more spaced out then Neil Armstrong ever did anything could happen tonight you know? This could be the best night of my life! I've got 73 quid in the back burner and I'm gonna wax the lot man. The Milky Bars are on me! YEAH!!!" (Human Traffic) |

The Dark Knight
PG-13
I was very impressed with the latest installment to the new Batman movies. After a long wait I was not dissapointed. Besides Heath's final performance being brillient and losing himself completely in this role, Christan Bale also gives an outstanding performace as the Batman. I was on totally captivated from the opening scene to the credits. 5 stars
Velvet Goldmine
R
I haven't seen this movie for years and still love it. Though it is deffinately not for everyone (especially the homophobic) this m ovie follows the rise of Brian Slade during the glam rock years in the seventies. Years later Arthur, a journalist, who experiment during those years is asked to cover the story of Brian Slades dissaperance. If you like David Boxie's - Iggy stardust you'll warm to the Velvet Goldmine.

An Inconvenient Truth
PG
Ever thought that global warming isn't an important issue. In this film/doco Al Gore explains the facts of global warming and the effects that it is having on the world today. He shows in a compelling way that there is indeed a huge problem and the facts show the we can infact do something to stop it. Are you willing to learn and help save the planet you live on? I reccommend that everyboy should see this film/doco, you owe it to the planet.
2.
American Beauty
R
This is my all time favourite movie. Lester Burnham is suffering a mid-life crisis that affects the lives of his family, his bitch of a wife Carolyn and rebelling daughter Jane, who hates him. Carolyn is a real estate agent, a little too wrapped up in her job, who takes on an affair with business rival Buddy Kane. Meanwhile Jane seems to fall in love with Ricky Fitts, the strange boy next door, who is a drug dealer/documentarian and lives under a roof governed by a very strict marine father and a speechless mother. Lester's mid-life crisis causes him to drastically change his life around when he quits his job, blackm ails his boss for a years salary and works at a fast food restaurant. After one of Janes cheerleading events Lester meets Angela, a friend of Jane's, who brags about her sexual exploits every weekend. Infactuated how his life use to be when he was younger and happier he trys to make change and not for the best either. This movie really made me think about life and what it means to you.

Brokeback Mountain
R
A powerful love story set in 1963, about, two young men. Ennis Del Mar, a young husband and father, and Jack Twist, a rodeo cowboy, both hired on as ranch hands in the Wyoming mountains. During the long months of isolation, an unusual bond starts to develop between them, one which they are only vaguely aware of--until one night when it rises to the surface in a passionate encounter. When the season ends, they part ways, only to realize the true depth of their feelings. Thus begins a long love affair lasting decades that the two of them desperately try to hide from those around them A love affair which will prove simultaneously beautiful and devastating. With poewerful performances from Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal this heart wrenching story had me in tears long after the credits finished rolling.
4.
The Shawshank Redemption
R
The story of Andy Dufrense an innocent man imprisioned at Shawshank Prison, for the murde of his wife and her lover. He shows love compassion and above most hope to the inmates of Shawshank. Red'Redding a man who can aquire things on the inside becomes a good friend of Andy's. One that would prove to be true over 20 odd years. Fantastic movie the determination that we posses when in the worst situatuions. Really gets the water works going in some places.

6.
The English Patient
R
Set before and during World War II, The English Patient is a story of love, fate, misunderstanding and healing. Told in a series of flashbacks, the film can best be explained by unwinding it into its two chronological phases. In the first phase, set in the late 1930s, the minor Hungarian noble Count Laszlo de Almásy (Fiennes) is co-leader of a Royal Geographical Society archeological and surveying expedition in Egypt and Libya. He and his English partner Madox are at heart academics with limited sophistication in the swirling politics of Europe and North Africa. Shortly after the film begins, both the morale and finances of their expedition are bolstered by an British couple, Geoffrey and Katherine Clifton (Colin Firth and Kristin Scott Thomas) that joins the exploration party. The Count is taken with the gorgeous and refined Katherine. When Geoffrey is often away from the group on other matters, an affair takes wing. The final months before the war's onset bring an archeological triumph: the Count's discovery of an ancient Saharan cave decorated with "swimming figure" paintings dating from prehistoric times. This period also sees the romance between Katherine and the Count rise to a sensuous peak and then seemingly fade. Katherine is plagued with the guilt of infidelity, while the Count shows a streak of jealousy along with an imbalance that will later haunt him. The fall of 1939 and the war bring all excavation at the cave to a halt, and Madox and the Count go their separate ways. Geoffrey Clifton meanwhile has pieced together the outline of the affair, and seeks a sudden and dramatic revenge: crashing his plane, with Katherine aboard, into the Count's desert camp. The wreck kills Geoffrey instantly, seriously injures Katherine, and narrowly misses the Count. He manages to take Katherine into the relative shelter of the swimming figure cave, leaves her with water, a flashlight, and a fire, then begins his scorching three day walk back to Cairo and help. The mood in British-controlled Egypt has shifted since the film's start and the dazed and dehydrated Count, with his non-English name, is unable to coherently explain to officials the plane crash and Katherine's plight. Instead he loses his temper during questioning and is thrown into military jail. By the time he is able to escape and return to the cave (with German help), Katherine is dead. And in all but a physical sense, so is the Count. The film's second phase shifts to Italy and the last months of the war. The Count by now is an invalid, having been horribly burned in a plane crash of his own not long after Katherine's death. The Count is wholly dependent by this time on morphine and the care of his French-Canadian nurse Hana (Juliette Binoche), detached from her medical unit and established in a battered but beautiful Italian villa. The villa becomes focal point for more plot threads, some new and some unfinished from the North African phase, all themed around love, chance, and the backdrop of the war. Hana has seen a fiancé and a nursing friend die in the Italian campaign, and is left to wonder if her involvement with a British-Indian lieutenant will break her cycle of love and grief or simply continue it. A visitor to the villa named Caravaggio (Willem Dafoe) at first believes he has simply found another source of morphine for his habit, but then realizes the disfigured Count played a role in his own ill-starred time in Egypt and Libya. For Caravaggio unwittingly stumbled into the wreckage of the Count-Katherine-Geoffrey love triangle, circa 1940-42. He's lost both thumbs in a grisly interrogation at the hands of the Nazis, and has since hunted down and killed those he believes responsible for his fate. He believes the Count was part of a web of desert spying and intrigue, confronts him with news of Madox's suicide, and posits that the Count killed the Cliftons. Only a full recounting at the villa of the Cliftons' crash and the Count's map dealings with the Germans to recover Katherine bring Caravaggio to understanding and forgiveness. So too does Hana find reconciliation at the film's end. Her lieutenant survives a brush with death on the war's last day and her hope in love is rekindled. Alas, time has run out on the Count; he succumbs to his burns and drifts off into dreams of his Katherine.

An American Crime
by .:SexiVixxENOhhhh, boy Ok as a mother you WILL have a very hard time watching this. It's like basically your worse nightmare come true.I would have never left my kids with a perfect stranger to begin with, but it was a different time then,People were more trusting and Gertrude went to church and to the outsiders put off the "Oh poor me,I am broke, and I have too many kids, but I go to church and I am a good person"BULLSHIT mask! This movie is disturbing in ways that enrage me as a mother, that any woman could allow this to go on in her own home, and then let the whole dam neighborhood kids come in and beat the crap out of her,Oh hell no!This chick was totally off her rocker she should have never had custody of ANY of her children ever.Ellen Page is truly a remarkable actress for her age,and I think she should have been nominated for an Oscar for This movie a hell of a lot more than Juno. She was Incredible in this and that is an understatement. The fact that this is a true story will haunt me for a very long time.See it,Just be warned.

by .:SexiVixxENOK,finally got another "Classic" notched into my belt now. This was pretty good.I don't know Maybe it's just me and this may sound awful but some of the older movies like this that I watch there seems to be almost alot of way over the top acting. It;s just too over-done.I liked this movie,I have been wanting to see it for a long time. But to try to explain my point earlier, his 2nd wife Susan ,The Opera singer, was just UGH! Always talking in the same tone or yelling,Or most of all Whining,She was grinding up my nerves into a fine powder.Other than that it was pretty ok.

Fried Green Tomatoes
by .:SexiVixxENAnother superior movie that has eluded me for far too long.I have always loved Kathy Bates,In this movie you cannot help fall in love with her character. She is the greatest person, would do anything for anyone, except herself really. Her underdog tone in this movie is very believable,so does get a backbone down the line but the journey is sad and funny at the same time.I also have loved Mary Stuart Masterson forever, this was a stellar cast of women, although this is not just a movie for women or your typical chick flick at all.I will also add this every once in a while to break away from the glitz and digitally explosive hollywood is a great thing. You take a story that is very special and combine it with such a well rounded cast you create magic. The amazing thing is,For any woman if you are 17-75 you WILL find some part of this movie or one of the characters that you can relate to,or are maybe in the same sort of situation, there really is something here for everyone,I am truly ashamed with myself that I let this one go as long as I have.See it!!!
