The Terminal - PG-13 I have to say it is a great one that first shows the meaning and beauty in our life about waiting and promise. The simplicity abehind the story conveys some wonderful philosophy for people living in this country busy around everyday for business, families, and so on, to slow down and reflect on something. The beauty about is that its ending is not cliche...
Clearly Steven Spielberg's role as director cannot be assumed...
Worth checking out!

The Women - PG-13 Insane really... Insane really. Even if you haven't seen the original George Cukor movie with Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, Rosalind Russell, Paulette Goddard, Joan Fontaine and a cast of a thousand other stars you may dismiss this forced, politically correct, depressing comedy. Meg Ryan and Eva Mendes clearly to not live up to expectation. The only positive things I can mention are a short but very funny appearance by Bette Midler and Cloris Leachman as the housekeeper.Do not bother watching this, bake some cake instead

Taken - PG-13 A no nonsense, kick the crap out of everyone who gets in your way action movie. Liam Neeson's character is the angry love child of Bourne,Bond and all the other pretenders put together. If I was asked to cast the movie I guess he wouldn't have been my first choice but having seen it I can't think of anyone else I'd rather have in the role. The fight choreography is bone crunchingly good. This is one kick ass flick definitely worth watching!!! April 21, 2009

The Midnight Meat Train - R Creeeepy is the word to describe this movie!!!!
There was a satisfactory amount of tension and creepiness with a nice dollop of gore. It was a little slow in places, but the movie made up for it with some really good scenes. I found the photographer character interesting. The killer was very creepy with his dead eyed stare. This movie reminds me of the classic slasher movies. The gore isn't overwhelming, although I did say.."Oh gross!!" a few times. Even though I was suspecting the twist at the end, it was still satisfying for me. If you enjoy horror movies, you may want to give this a try.

Confessions of a Shopaholic - PG I have to give credit where credit is due; "Confessions of a Shopaholic" does have some engaging moments of comedic credibility. But unfortunately not enough to provide the film with a high interest rate...
Atleast i got hooked up with tickets, otherwise i wouldn't be caught dead watching it on big screen... Sophie, i suggest you wit for the DVD
was not of a "laugh-it-all blue light special" material, but commendable enough for a few laughs in return. Due to our nation's economic strife, "Confessions of a Shopaholic" might not be the ideal movie to watch these days; but then again as previously mentioned- It is a movie! So this yours truly movieholic will try to sell it to you at a moderate price. *** Average

Why Did I Get Married? - PG-13 First of all I must say that I don't understand the low ranking, it is truly an underestimation of this film. I must admit that while I am a Tyler Perry fan I have been underwhelmed by his previous box office offerings. This film for me was a welcomed departure from his other films, it just seemed more professional, well directed, and the casting was phenomenal. Evan though it was rather preachy it seemed much less "after-school-specialish" than his initial movies. Jill Scott was amazing, Tasha Smith was Hilarious, and Janet Jackson wasn't as boring as she usually is. I hope this film is a precursor of more to come from Tyler Perry.
This movie is A MUST WATCH!!!

The Lake House - PG Darlings, this is a dramatic, funny, romantic, time-travelin' movie. And the film succeeds because the chemistry between Keanu & Sandra is tangible. They've worked together before & genuinely like each other. It's the most important element; because their comfort level helps you believe the story and forget that you're watching Sandra & Keanu. As the characters get to know each other through correspondence, the film seduces you into suspended belief. Your left-brain's logical, analytical, fact-based reasoning doesn't want you to root for them, but your heart does. This film skips over the scientific & enables you to explore the tiniest possibilities of 'what if.......' Yes, it's corny, but so what. So is ROMANCE! See it with someone you desire! I MEAN IT!!! Hairspray - PG This is not CINEMA and it's not ART ... what is, however, is the most fun I've had seeing a film in I can't remember how long ... a totally incredible, wonderful, feel good, and so glad you went experience.

Oh, and the performances were overall excellent ... with some stand-outs - Travolta, Nikki Blonsky, Zac Efron, Queen Latifah, & Michelle Pfeiffer (perenially under-rated on account of "you can't be brilliant and that beautiful?") ... and there were no clunkers - the rest of the cast provided able support to the "stars." The music and the dancing got you bouncing up and down in your seat. And finally, the racial and weight discrimination issues .. the whole "you don't fit our skinny, white, young, & whatever is currently hip stereotypes ... were handled with humor and without being patronized or trivialized - not easy to do in a musical romp. The pride and self-confidence of those who were subject to this discrimination came through as unyielding, unwavering, and solid as a rock ... just like Tracy's hair.

IT IS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES OF 2007

Barbershop 2 - Back in Business - PG-13 "Barbershop 2: Back in Business" is a better-made, if not necessarily better film than the original. I loved the first "Barbershop" movie that came out in 2002. The sequel is a lot more in depth with its characters and we learn a little more about each one and how they have improved since the first film. If "Back in Business" has any flaws, it's that there is not enough action inside the barbershop, where most of the action took place in the first film. There is a little more drama with "Back in Business" that never slows the film down; a little drama never hurt anyone, did it? Either way, I did thoroughly enjoy myself watching "Barbershop 2: Back in Business" and I rated it a10/10. December 23, 2007

The Bone Collector - R The best parts of this movie are the actors and the suspense. Good performances, especially by Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie, and a suspenseful atmosphere highlighted an otherwise routine thriller. The twist of the main character being a quadraplegic was also a plus.

You might like the book better. It provides more insight into the characters and storylines.

Bringing Down The House - PG-13 What can i say, Queen lieraly brought down the house in here!!!
Overall, Bringing Down the House is a bit of a mixed bag, but approached as a light "sketch comedy/drama", it is entertaining. My rating occasionally leaned towards a 7, but remained closer to a 7.5 or 8 or 9 or 10.

Last Holiday - PG-13 I had no idea I would enjoy myself so much! But then again, Queen LaTIFAH IS ONE OF TEH BEST ACTRESSES OF ALL TIME. Queen Latifah plays Georgia Byrd, a shy, quiet, insecure frump, with a secret passion for cooking and for her co-worker, Sean (the most endearing character that L.L. Cool J. has ever played!). After hitting her head and suffering a concussion, Georgia has a cat-scan that reveals several brain tumors. With less than a month to live, Georgia takes all the money she has and treats herself to the European vacation of a lifetime. She flies first class, stays in the Presidential suite, eats the finest food, and lives like she was dying. "Last Holiday" is pure fantasy and pure fun, and it never takes death too seriousl.

The Break-Up - PG-13 I was expecting a romantic comedy. Although there were some comedic elements, The Break Up was too shrill and combative to qualify as a romantic comedy. Several scenes were uncomfortable to watch. Jennifer Anniston lacked her usual spark. Vince Vaughn's performance was lackluster. One of my favorite actors, Jason Bateman, I hate to say it, sucked. One can only blame the director for taking such good actors and having them turn out such mediocre performances. The script was also lacking. I would recommend that you not waste your money on this one. If you are looking for a light-hearted, feel-good romantic comedy, The Break-Up is to be avoided. Go look for something British instead. No pun intended December 23, 2007

Bottoms Up - R Paris Hilton is listed as one of the actors in the move which is strange as she's so wooden I thought someone had thrown a chair onto the screen.

Possibly the worst movie I've ever had the unfortunate experience to see...! Why people hire Paris Hilton and think she will draw a crowd is beyond me. I think its because these people are genuinely brain dead and have no talent to speak of.

Clearly a movie bank rolled by people who have too much cash and too little ideas.

So lets pull together - mail your mates and make this the no1 worst movie of all time to show the idiots who come up with this stuff were sick of it.

Hehe, and am not hating!

Knocked Up - R The comedy is clever and insightful, loaded with little self-referential moments and pop culture references (the Munich one is particularly awesome), and while it occasionally veers toward the puerile, the movie's subject matter ensures that the humour remains considered and intelligent for the most part. The performances are outstanding, but not just in terms of comic timing. The Rudd & Rogen moments make for some of the movie's better lines, but their humour is finely balanced with that emotional depth that I mentioned before, making the characters far more than punchline machines, which benefits the movie immeasurably.
Fantastic !!!
