This is a multi-layered masterpiece that reveals more of itself upon every viewing. Rarely in cinema, has the ambiguous line between dream and reality been so brilliantly toyed with. Naomi Watts gives a subtly nuanced performance exhibiting range that almost seems to defy imagination. Repeated viewings reveal a multitude of characters/personalities she portrays in this one film. Brilliant. Laura Herring's haunting portrayal leaves you longing to see more of her work as well.

Another film where it is virtually impossible to discern what is "real" and what may be dream, fantasy, or mental illness. Equally compelling is the co-dependent relationship between the two women. It's fascinating to watch the range of emotions in a film where (depending on the version you watch) one of the characters never speaks! I am obsessed with their interaction and the powerful dynamics: love, desire, jealousy, envy, resentment, etc..
