It has recently come to my attention that there are a lot of men in their 20s & 30s using flixter to "flirt" with YOUNG girls between the ages of 13 & 17. This ranges from the men calling these young girls by pet names (honey, sweetheart, gorgeous, sexy, baby, etc., etc., etc.) to the men asking these young girls about their sex lives (they shouldn't have sex lives at these ages) and even trying to arrange in person meetings. There are strict laws that prohibit this kind of behavior and seeing this on flixter sickens me. So... if you are a man in your 20s or 30s (or older) and talking to young girls in this way, DO NOT even bother writing to me as I am likely to report you... and please LEAVE THE YOUNG GIRLS ALONE!!! And for those of you guys who are keeping the minimum age at 18... Good Job! Keep it up! ;)

Plot: Batman and Gordon find alliance with a newly appointed DA Harvey Dent to stop a vicious killer with a warped sense of humor known only as The Joker, a threat to both the good, and the evil of Gotham City.

    Verdict
In reality, the film has brought in $158.3 million, creating an even bigger gap between itself and "Spider-Man 3," which was the previous record-holder at $151.1 million back in May 2007.
My freaking god. The Summer movie of the year and of the decade. And the figures talkes for themself. 158 million for a movie is unbelievable. If the dead of Heath Ledger contribute to this success, i say YES. His performance is Oscar worthy. I will start my review.
    -----------
    Directing
Christopher Nolan collaboration with Wally Pfister is so freaking good. The shots of the buildings, The batman flying of the buildings and how the camera moves. They both deserve a prize for best directing and best director of photography. I'm speechless!!! Christopher Nolan is my favorite director right now!!!
    Acting
All credits of acting goes to Heath Ledger. His potrayal of the joker is so dark, psychopatic and funny. His mimic, his way of walking is freaking scary. i got goosebumps. Aaron Eckhart as Harvery Dent is so convincing and flawless, but when he becomes two face it will blow you away. Maggie Gyllenhaal as Rachel Dawes is way much better than the stupid Katie Holmes. Also a strong performance. Christian Bale is an excellent Batman. Strong and also vulnerable. Great supporting roles by Michael Caine, Cillian Murphy and Morgan Freeman.
    Sound score
If you see this movie in the IMAX. The sound is so clear and loud. The sound effects are so earblowing. i'm still deaf.
    Oscars
    It is got my nomination:
    Best Movie
    Best Directing - Christoper Nolan
Best Actor in a leading role - Heath Ledger
Best Actor in a supporing role - Aaron Eckhart
Best Adapted Screenplay - Jonathan Nolan and Christopher Nolan

    August Rush August Rush
    3.5 Stars by Dominique
Plot: A drama with fairy tale elements, where an orphaned musical prodigy uses his gift as a clue to finding his birth parents.
    Flixster - Share Movies
    Final Verdict
Going in to August Rush, you've got to be more than willing to accept fairy tale magic; you've got to be looking to embrace it, with all of its whimsy and overzealous sense of wonder. That way, the movie can be sweet (if a bit ponderously so) as opposed to so precious you feel the need to punt it through a window. It's a fine line, and August Rush is balancing it the whole way through.

Freddie Highmore plays the title character, a little boy in a Dickensian version of the real world: He has grown up in a group home for boys in upstate New York (do they even have those anymore?), where he hears music in the world, from the corn fields to the moonlight. He sets out one day, believing that if he follows the music, it will lead to his parents; where it actually leads is New York City, where the noise of the city turns into the rhythmic beginnings of a Stomp number. There, he hooks up with a band of street urchins/musicians straight out of Oliver Twist, run by the unstable and off-putting Wizard (Robin Williams as a creepy redhead). When August discovers things like guitars and sheet music that allow him to produce the music he hears, he becomes a prodigy, and a sensation.
And of course, because August Rush is all about the magic of fate and coincidence, this little boy's love of music comes from some sort of machinations of the gods: His mother Lyla (Keri Russell) is a star concert cellist; his father Louis (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) is the guitarist and singer of a rock band. The two meet by coincidence on a rooftop and share one perfect night of moonlight and music, and are separated after. As August is looking for them, they are looking for one another and him. It's a small world, really, that separates August from his parents, but despite the number of coincidences and close calls that have parents and child nearly meeting, it takes them a very, very long time to actually get there.

If you find a story so heavy on the charm appealing, though, then August Rush delivers. Highmore is a spectacularly endearing little boy, and he plays the wise-beyond-his-years waif to perfection. Besides that, the film is cast almost entirely with likable and recognizable stars; in addition to Russell, Meyers, and Williams, Terrence Howard plays a sympathetic employee of child protective services, and even the tiny supporting parts are filled by actors from TV shows like Ugly Betty and Moonlight. If nothing else, August Rush is pleasant, so long as you don't go looking for realism or practicality.

Director Kirsten Sheridan is too fond of close-up camera shots and long, silent takes to make a movie that moves at a rapid clip, however. And while it is impressive that all three stars are actually performing some of their onscreen music, for a movie that is all about a dazzling musical prodigy, the actual music is good, but not astounding. While it is totally in character for a fairy tale to feature people who feel an instant and inexplicable connection to one another, August Rush relies on the device more than is strictly necessary, and unfortunately is content to have it stand in for actual character development.

The movie is every bit as super sweet and precious as it sounds; it's also rather slow, and prone to long sequences of nothing but light playing off shiny objects and cacophonies of rhythmic sound. It also places its entire plot on the belief that a mother can instantly recognize a son she's never seen, that fate wields an actively guiding hand, and that music can transcend all other forms of communication in ways that we inherently understand, if we merely listen. Even if it sounds like so much touchy-feely nonsense, August Rush manages it with just enough sincerity and embracing of magic that it manages to stay just this side of saccharine, most of the time.

    Hancock Hancock
    0.5 Stars by Dominique
Plot Summary: Edgy, conflicted, sarcastic, and misunderstood, Hancock's well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake. The public has finally had enough ? as grateful as they are to have their local hero, the good citizens of Los Angeles are wondering what they ever did to deserve this guy. Hancock (Will Smith) isn't the kind of man who cares what other people think ? until the day that he saves the life of PR executive Ray Embrey (Jason Bateman), and the sardonic superhero begins to realize that he may have a vulnerable side after all. Facing that will be Hancock's greatest challenge yet ? and a task that may prove impossible as Ray's wife, Mary (Charlize Theron), insists that he's a lost cause.

    Final Verdict
If you have seen the trailer, Hancock should be the coolest and badass movie of the summer. But this movie starts like a really funny Will Smith comedy movie and ends like a bad love drama.

A few reasons Hancock was doomed:

    # The script, originally titled 'Tonight, He Comes', floated around in Hollywood for over a decade.

#The reason for the cancellation, is the fact that the movie will simply not be ready in time, and instead, "Hancock" will premiere in France a week later.

This news of the film's delay comes after Smith was spotted in Manhattan's Times Square shooting addition scenes for "Hancock." In addition, the movie has received an R rating by the MPAA the two times it was submitted. A PG-13 rating was desired by the filmmakers.

    # Warner Bros. passed on the chance to make the film. Sony then stepped in.

Still this movie gonna sky rock the box office. Only because of the trailer and Will Smith.
Beware: the movie isn't that funny as the trailer!

    Hancock Hancock
    4.0 Stars by monty
I have no idea what movie the critics saw when they wrote their reviews for Hancock but it couldn't have been the one I just saw. Twice. I was led to believe that this was one of the worst movies ever made. You know up there with Batman and Robin, Catwoman, Wild Wild West. And it's not. Hancock is a truly original take of the super hero theme with Will Smith taking center stage as the depressed and alcoholic anti-hero who causes more damage than he does when he tries to do a good deed. When Hancock saves PR man Ray (Jason Bateman) from a train, the guy feels obligated to help Hancock clean up his image. Ray takes Hancock to meet his wife Mary (the gorgeous Charlize Theron) and their kid Erin. Ray's plan is to have Hancock surrender and go to jail, and when crime gets out of control, the city will beg for his help. You have never seen a super hero movie like this. If you think it's gonna be all jokes and kinda like a spoof, you couldn't be more wrong. Things get serious around the halfway point and Hancock has to make some tough choices. This movie is very entertaining, with all three leads giving solid performances. The humor and action scenes work pretty good, deftly directed by Peter Berg. Both times I saw Hancock with audiences who were cheering and laughing and having a great time. Not the kind you would expect if this movie was really that terrible. Which it isn't. A great summertime film which sets up perfectly for the sequel. Hancock is a winner.

    Mirrors Mirrors
    Want To See by Dominique
A restricted trailer for the upcoming Alexandre Aja-directed horror film "Mirrors" has been released, featuring lots of disturbing scenes from the movie and lots of plot details.

In "Mirrors," Kiefer Sutherland ("24") will play an ex-cop who works security at a mall and discovers something awry in the mirrors of a department store. He tries to discover the origin of the evil. In addition to Sutherland, the film also stars Paula Patton, who will play the guard's soon-to-be ex-wife, a coroner who has a hard time believing her husband's claims, at least initially.

Recently Aja (The Hills Have Eyes) revealed that the MPAA gave the film an R rating with no cuts, even with its graphic core. "We're in a very good way surprised that they let us go with much more than we expected," he said. Check out "The Mirrors" in theaters on August 15th.

    Wanted Wanted

Good but not great. A young man named Wesley who is a timid office worker is suddenly thrust into the world of assassinations. His father is the best in the world and the organization called The Fraternity recruits Wesley to join them. This group is led by Sloan, wonderfully played by Morgan Freeman. Sloan's second in command is The Fox, played by Angelina Jolie, who is awesome. Wesley is played by James Mc Avoy, who convincingly goes from regular joe to unstoppable killer. The first 15 minutes of this movie is pure bliss which includes a rooftop shoot-out and a wild car chase with Angelina at the wheel. Things slow down quickly after that but pick up later with a sensational train sequence that is quite a jaw dropper. Then the finale is staged well but seems just ok. Don't get me wrong, Wanted is a good movie with three strong performances by Jolie, Freeman and McAvoy but it could have been better.

The Incredible Hulk The Incredible Hulk
    3.5 Stars by monty
I think the concensus is that this is how the first Hulk movie should have been. More Hulk smash, less talk. Edward Norton is a perfect fit as Bruce Banner, the man on the run who is trying to find a cure for his special condition. Of course the government tracks him down to harness his blood cells so they can make the perfect weapon. William Hurt is Gen Ross who leads the charge to capture banner. He is very good in his role as is Tim Roth, a wily soldier who after a confrontation with the Hulk decides he wants some of that awesome power for himself. He will soon become The Abomination. Also on hand is Liv Tyler as Bruce's one time love Betty. She assumes the role from Jennifer Connelly and makes the character even better. I liked her portrayal way more than Connelly. Now the effects are much improved from the first film. This Hulk looks a lot more convincing. And the action scenes rock. Plus there's that cameo by Tony Stark aka Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) that pretty much seals the deal on this entertaining summer movie.

You can't call this movie a sequal to the first Hulk movie directed by Ang Lee. This movie is closer to the excellent series with Bill Bixby and the cartoon.
Edward Norton did a great job giving the human form to the Hulk.
Greating fighting scenes and enough material and questions for a sequal.

Sorry mister M. Night Shyamalan, but this movie is the boring one ever.
If you have seen all the trailers and tv spots, you won't see nothing new in the movie. There are some scenes with gore but the rest won't freak you out. The acting is not even great and what the clue is of the happening, I didn't get it.
Don't spend any money on this movie and it won't do well at the box office, because the Hulk will crush this movie.

    Final Verdict
Dreamwork Pictures delivers once again a knock out with Kung Fu Panda. Funny, hilarious, hart warming, but most of all fun for the whole family.

    Voices
Most credits goes to Jack Black. He and Kung Fu Panda look a like, both funny, fat and with a fighting spirit to conquer Hollywood. Dustin Hoffman is also very hilarious as Master Shifu. The rest of the cast did there voices excellent.

    Story/Screenplay
The story/screenplay is very simple, but the timing for jokes are good and trust me you will laugh throughout the whole movie. There is one serious scene that ends hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing.
If it do well at the box office and i just checked IMDB.com. They topped the box office this weekend in America. I wouldn't mind if they make a sequel. This Panda rocks and will kick your butt!!!

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
    4.0 Stars by monty
After watching this film opening weekend, I wasn't quite sure how much I liked it. I mean it was good, but not great. Well, after seeing it a second time, it was much better. Indy is back and Harrison Ford still has it. The awesome action scenes, solid characters, and outrageous stunts and situations are all in here. Ford steps back into the role quite easily as the opening scene has him facing off against Soviets in the warehouse called Area 51. After an atomic bomb is set off, things quiet down for a little bit until Shia LaBeouf rides in as Mutt Williams. He comes to ask Indy's help to find this artifact called the Crystal Skull. If not the Soviets will kill his mom, the still charming Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen). So Indy and Mutt travel around the globe trying to find this skull and stay ahead of the bad guys led by the wildly entertaining Cate Blanchett. Everything comes to ahead deep in a jungle where our heroes will tangle with waterfalls, a truck chase scene, and flesh eating ants. While Skull may not be quite up there with the previous Indy flicks, it is still highly entertaining. And seeing Harrison Ford back is great. He's a little older and may move a little slower, but he's still the man. Indy is the greatest action hero of all time. A lot of fans may be put off by the ending that is different from the previous films but it doesn't ruin the movie. And Indy has the best fight of all the entire series as he goes head to head with this hulk of a Soviet. It's very brutal. Plus the finale ends on a positive note. The whole cast is great besides Ford and Blanchett. Allen's return is just perfect and Shia is actually pretty good too. All in all, a solid summertime film.
