The hype is true. After hearing how great this movie is, i decided to watch it and it was amazing. The most significant thing I saw was that at 3 1/2 hours long, it feels much shorter. It just moves. Everything in this movie just clicks, no filler. The acting is amazing as well. Toshiro Mifune is the best in this. I love his crazy character. All the characters are great. For a movie made in 1954, i didn't feel like it was watered down. The action was good for the time and still is pretty good. This movie has heart and soul and a great story. Absolutely phenominal.

I reccommend the directors cut highly. Great film. In my opinion, better than Gladiator.

I liked this more than Gladiator. Yep, I said it. Maybe because I watched the directors cut and not the theatrical cut, but this movie was the shit. I dug the story more than Gladiators. The performances were better in Gladiator, but almost everything else is better in this. The violence was better, the dialouge was better, and the girl was better. Eva Green is gorgeous. I love her. Also, Orlando Bloom wasn't bad in this. He showed me he can be decent in this and Ned Kelly. Ridley Scott is a hell of a director who, even after making classics back in the day like Alien and Blade Runner, is becoming better and better. Just look at his films since Gladiator. Black Hawk Down, Kingdom of Heaven, American Gangster. He is on a roll. I can't wait for his next film.

Well, it has been a while since I have seen a movie this bad. This is an absolute waste of celluloid. This movie is a fucking mess. No coherence. The movie starts in act 4. What the fuck is that? It also lacks any real characters, everyone is a complete imbecile. It also has the shittiest dystopian future I have ever seen. This has to be the most pretentious movie I have ever seen, followed by 2001. I haven?t seen Donnie Darko, for some reason I still plan on seeing it. But Richard Kelly just shat all over his reputation. There are no qualities in this film that are positive, with the exception of Justin Timberlake?s character. When the best performance in your movie is from Justin Timberlake, you have problems. Oh, another thing I forgot. The names in this movie are just retarded. Timberlake?s characters name is Pilot Abilene. What the hell? Seriously, what a mess.

It never ceases to amaze me how the academy can overlook something so good and give praise a big piece of shit. I mean, how did the acadmey overlook Hoffman and even Hawkes performance in this yet give Depp praise for playing a murderous Jack Sparrow? This movie is amazing. It starts off kind of weird, with Hoffman doing Tomei from behind, but it was great to see her naked. Then it kicks into gear and play like a Tarantino movie with the jumping around in the structure. But it doesn't feel like it's trying to be a ripoff. It is very much it's own movie. Hoffman in this was amazing. Much better than his nominated role for "Charlie Wilsons War". Ethan Hawke also shows us that he can act again. Tomei seems to have been revitalized after showing up on Rescue Me comes back here and shows us why she has an oscar. Albert Finney is also really good as the father of the story. This movie is a dark movie that isn't for everyone. But it is really good. Fuck you Academy.

What a surprise. Even after hearing all the good things about this movie, I was still shocked. Ben Affleck should stay behind the camera. He really has a talent as being a creator behind the scenes. Casey Affleck deserves to stay in front of the camera more. He is very good in this flick. The movie really hooked me in and had me thinking about what I would do. Casey does things I would have done differently but other choices are similar. Harris is great here as usual as well as Ryan and Ashton. Monahan really did nothing except jump into lake and hurt Casey. All in all, a good film that makes me excited to see more of the Afflecks.

Holy shit. That was my thought when this masterpiece finished. I really did not expect this movie to be so good. I heard good things, but I never thought I was walking into a stroke of genius. Danny Boyle seems to be hitting his stride. The sun is dying and Icarus II is sent to spark it back. We get to see as these characters interact with each other until something happens they don't expect. Icarus I, which has long been lost, is sending out a distress signal. After some debate, the crew of Icarus II decide to check out the ship. This is when the shit starts to hit the fan. Everything moves at such a natural pace. The acting is all around great, everyone putting their A game in. The visuals are amazing. I was blown away by the visuals. My only gripe, and not even really a gripe is how the climax is set into play. I had no problem with it, just some questions that I am glad weren't answered. But i can see where others would not be happy with the ending. I love this movie. I wish I saw it in theatres. But I am glad it was the first movie I watched with my new surround sound system. In my opinion, the best sci fi movie i have seen. I am seriously considering putting this into my top ten. But it may make the top 15. But it is nonetheless great.

Great noir and it only makes me wonder why Kurosawa didn't pursue more Noir movies(maybe he did I'm not completely knowledgable on what he made :P ) Good movie I enjoyed a lot and would suggest to any fan of noirs, Japanese cinema, or just the great Kurosawa/Mifune team.

Very funny. I really enjoyed The Simpsons movie and thought it was one of the best, if not the best, tv show to movie movies. I was laughing throughout the picture and it was just a really fun movie to go see. The plot was somewhat weak but that's why I went to see it. I went to see it to laugh and for my love of the Simpsons and it fulfilled both of those for me. If you're a fan of the Simpsons go see it now.
