Lars von Trier's first and only addition to the Dogme 95 style of filmmaking could make a hilariously politically incorrect comedy. It does after all center on a group of people who pretend to be retarded. Instead it opts to take its subject matter seriously-- but maybe that's the joke.

'Dogville', another completely effective cinematic experiment courtesy of Lars Von Trier. At 3 hours, the movie absorbed me into its bare soundstage setting, causing the odd atmosphere to be more authentic than most 'real' locations in other movies.

I've seen this movie over 100 times. It's the film that made me want to become a filmmaker. After a life of watching over 5000 movies, Pulp Fiction remains a true cinematic treasure never to be forgotten. The most influential film of our time for all time...
