He's Just Not That Into You
PG-13
It's basically your every day romantic comedy, but its merits are in being realistic. Every woman can find herself in this film, for that, I'm grateful.

Brandon Routh and Justin Long's appearances were great.

I love the way they tell the story of the Gulf War without getting involved in what's happening now in Iraq. Jake Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard have great chemistry, and Sam Mendes once again directed a great film!

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas (The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas)
by SandraBastante fiel ao livro, embora algumas modificações tenham sido feitas no filme....o que não tira o seu mérito, pois continua tocante e sensível ao tratar um tema tão delicado, visto sob os olhos das crianças.

Bubble
by KevinSteven Soderbergh is quite the risk taker! He takes non-actors to play in this film. All 3 lead actors have never acted in a film before or since. With none of the actors having any prior experience, one would think that this movie would a disaster! Well I begg to differ, this film was flat out amazing! I mean the actors in the film impofized stories from thier real lifes into this. So yeah this is a character study more than anything. You can tell that the actors seemed nervous at the begging of the film. As the film progresses the dialogue becomes more interesting as well as the facial expressions, etc.
This is a character study and not a fast paced film by any means. If anyone knows my tatse in movies they know I aprriecate that in a film. Here is a movie that takes its time. Although we arent given much time, just over an hour in fact to know these characters. The story takes place in a doll factory in the Midwest. At first I was thinkg: WTF how can this movie work?? Not all of the movie takes place in the doll factory of course. Just the people that work there more or less. Rose, the new employee is joined by Martha and Kyle have to show her the ropes so to speak. I love the scenes between Rose and Martha, you can tell that Rose makes Martha uncombertable.Rose might come off as sweet as first, but it doesnt take long for anyone to notice that she is one demanding young woman. She takes advantage of the character Martha in the worst way.I assure in some scenes it looks like they could have gone into a cat fight.
The more this movie gets going the more intresting it becomes. The twist at the end makes the movie. Great character study from Soderbergh,he does a great job of making it all feel real.Which I of course loved. Loved every moment of this film, for its characters, its bold apporach, its twist and its demise of its characters! See this film!Hey, check out Soderbergh's gutsy film! One of the most surprising films I have witnessed!

The Dead Girl
by KevinWow what a film! This movie had my attention from start to finish. Flat-out memorizing performances from its cast! We get some of the cinemas most underrated actors, including the amazing Brittany Murphy, she was world class in this film. We also get Marica gay Harden,Toni Collette,Giovanni Rbisi ( a small but creepy, effective role) and James Franco. If you like movies that having intersecting characters well then you are in for a treat, rest assured.
The plot was simple but brillant for me. All the stories interwine when a young woman is found dead. Throughout the movie we find out just who this women was and some of the people who knew her in some fashion. Very interesting characters, they werent flat or boring at all which is a huge plus for me. I love character driven films and this ranks up there with the best that I have seen. Dead Girl is often creepy, the way its shot(mostly at night, the things the characters say, they way they move, everything was so damn brillant!
This movie spends about 10-15 mins on each story so you know the just of it. But that only leaves you wanting for find out more about the dead girl, how she died, who she was, etc. Never a moment when I said "come on enough already" I just kicked back and enjoyed this often creepy and intriguing film. My only complaint was that there should have been more Brittany Murphy(she plays the "dead girl") she made me want to hit the play button as soon as I got back to the main menu of my DVD player. This movie doesnt leave you,not a forgettable film by any means :)Hey, you should really see this intrguing thiller! If you like films that connects characters to tell a story then this ones for you :)

Things We Lost in the Fire
by KevinWow this movie stuuned me! I did not in my wildest dreams did I think that this movie was going to be more than an average Drama. The movie deals with some imporant issues too. Such as death, family, surrvial and addiction. Its in fact quite moving from start to finish, perhaps one of the most powerfull movies I have seen in a long time!
The plot revolves around a housewife ( Halle Berry) who has just lost her spouse in a fight. She then invites her husbands best friend to stay with her. The best friend is played by Bencio Del Toro. However thier is a serious problem with this guy..he is a "recovering" herrion addict". Berry's character seems to show very little pity on him and in someways blames him for the death of her husband.
Audrey Burke: Why wasn't it you, Jerry? Why wasn't it you?
Audrey Burke: What you did today broke my heart.
Jerry Sunborne: What did I do?
Audrey Burke: You got Dory to put his head under the water.
Jerry Sunborne: Oh, that was just a cute trick...
Audrey Burke: He's six. Harper put hers under when she was only three. It was something that Brian tried and tried to get Dory to do, but he couldn't. And that victory today of getting Dory's head to go under was not supposed to be YOURS. It wasn't meant for you to have that moment. And for me, watching you was like this, this...
Jerry Sunborne: I'm sorry.
I mean the performances in this movie are PURE POWERHOUSE!! I mean damn Del Toro and Berry can act in this film. Take Berry's performance, she brillantly plays shock and grief. She doesnt let her emotions all out until that one scene. Absoutley amazing, she has so many different ways that she can play shock too. Her actions seem more subtle than anything. Then we have my main man Benicio Del Toro, perhaps his finest role to date. The scene where he is going through withdrawls was spellboundingly brillant. His performance was effective on so many different levels. We see him as a father figure,a drug addict,a potentional lover, a friend.
Bottom line is that this movie is well worth your time. The performances alone are worth every penny. The story is so captivating and deals with some interesting issues. Things We Lost IN The Fire really inspired me...Hey check out the powerhouse performances by Halle Berry and Bencio Del Toro. This is a movie that stays with you..

Out of Sight
by KevinOne of George Clooney's best films! Steven Soderbergh directs this movie about a bank robber played by Clooney who falls for a U.S Marshall played by the sexy Jenifer Lopez. This moive has it all, great actors, great director, smart writting, ingaging plot to follow, very entertaining. The great thing about this movie is that all the characters are ones that the audience cares about and can relate to on somelevel. Yeah I know not everybody is a U.S. Marshall or a bank robber, but I bet most have tried living life on the wild side. This is the story where opposites attract and Lopez and Clooney burst off the screen with thier chemistry! We also get great performances from Don Cheadle and Dennis Farina. This movie catched me off guard I didnt expect this to be this amazing at all! But I should have known better with the great Steven Soderbergh directing. He doesnt make that many bad movies in my mind. And it doesnt hurt that the great George Clooney is in this, who the hell doesnt like this guy? lol If you dont check this one out soon then you are surely making a mistake! Its well worth your time!
Check out one of Clooney's best films!
