Kate Winslet has finally found a role that she truly did justice to! Her performance was enthralling and compelling. Her character deals with issues that still faces the modern day home-maker. Ladies, there is more to life than being a wife and mother. You have to find your niche in the world, or pretty soon you'll resent all that you hold dear and start to make irrational decisions. I hope Kate gets an Oscar for her role! Leonardo di Caprio was certainly intense! I felt his pain but his character was just a wimp on so many levels.....he had a hard time standing up to his wife and when he finally chose to do so, he did it with spite, vengeance and pettiness! What a jerk! This film may be set in the mid-1950s but it deals with issues facing families today! Brilliant film. Kate Winslet needs to get more roles like this one because she delivers her lines perfectly!!!! Wow! golden Globes baby!!! Bafta will be next!

This movie is full of action, intrigue and twists! Good story, but sad that Leonardo di Caprio's character died! Good insight to when cops turn bad!!!! It is a legendary film if you ask me, because it gave Martin Scorsese the Oscar for Best Director that had eluded him for years. Definitely worth every cent spent to watch it. A con pretending to ba a cop, a cop pretending to be a con and the con cop set out to find out who the cop con is!
