Crash

Crash is a movie that comes around about once in a decade. It's not because it has an all-star cast, which it does. It's not just because it has great acting, which it does. It's not even because it's story is powerful and compelling, which of course, it is. Crash is the combination of these three factors that combine to make a movie that will change you forever. It will make you leap out of your seat and yell at the God damn screen "NO!". That's the kind of movie it is. A movie with such great achievement and very little in terms of screen/editing error should be seen by everyone with two eyes and a screen. Do yourself a favour, if you have not seen this movie. Find the time and the place to sit down and watch it. I'm not talking about after the football game rooting with your bimbo-buddies time. I mean find someone who is also not a retard or just a significant other to really sit down and enjoy something great. You will not regret it. Enjoy! Note: Everyone who rated the film below 3/5 stars or just decided to trash it were removed from my "buddies" list. I can handle positive/negative criticism and difference of opinion, but I can't support people who pee on picasso's.
The Departed

Absolutely, hands down. Hands nailed down to the damn ground BEST movie I have seen since God knows how long. It was gripping right from the beginning, I don't know what Leo has been doing the past 5 years with his career but he has made even me eat my own words about predicting his future from Titanic. Matt Damon has made the best Trilogy I have seen since fucking Star Wars (The Bourne Identify) and if that wasn't enough they decided hey, let's just throw a few million dollars at Jack "here's Johnny" Nicholson and Martin "The Horror, The Horror" Sheen to take top roles alongside everyone else. The story is powerful, Leonardo makes you sweat bullets in your seat. Damon makes you want to punch the screen, Nicholson throws you for a loop and good 'ol Sheen makes you cry your guts out. Oh, and by the way Wahlberg's performance is the best he's EVER done, and by that I mean he has shown me that he can actually act. He got nominated for an Oscar for this thing. All of these actors, an original story and a movie that plays out like a roller coaster from hell is what makes this movie, in my opinion, the best film of 2006. No contest!
